If I am to venture a guess.... if it is today/tomorrow then it will go live in about 5 minuets....Just a guess
Though I do admit that knockdowns right in the beginning are sort of frustrating, and could be allowed after "x" seconds into a race, I can't agree with you. Just to voice a different opinion, here's my take. (Hope I don't sound like a psycho-kill-monster) Firstly, knockdowns are fun. It makes the game all the more exciting, adds up to the arcade experience along with nos bottles, ramps, city havocs etc. It gets you to think strategically and plan your race. Otherwise, whoever has the car with best stats and driving skills wins, period. Also, you do have to race cars with better stats both in career mode and in multiplayer. When you have to race someone who is as skilled as you are in terms of driving, who knows the shortcuts like you do, but has a car better than yours, then it depends heavily on executing knockdowns to gain nos/position advantage. In career mode I did races with cars as low as 110 ranks below the recommended rank. I had to budget my money. Upgrades were out of question, naturally I depended on knockdowns. The same goes for multiplayer too. Maybe getting knocked down isn't fun, but watching a racer with a higher ranked car as he wins with no means of ever beating him would be even less fun. The fact that game can never match you with all equal opponents makes the knockdowns more than a fun aspect. (Wow. Much serious. Very length.) Fun story time One time when I was in mp, a racer 30 ranks above me with two boosts lead the entire race with me on right his tail, never having a chance to catch up. However I got a perfect run boost right when he passed the finish line. I said whatever and triple boosted anyway. Wrecked the guy beyond the finish line and found myself in first place. The bottomline is, knockdowns make the races much less predictable and pushes you to do your very best.

But in the end they are a need to help not only level the field per say....but they will (or should) make you drive lines differently and be aware of these things. The added element alone can force the racer that is super fast to make a mistake just because they feel the need to change their line to stay safe.... I am guilty of this. Put someone with a heart beat hot on your heals and there is some extra stress that only knockdowns can add IMO.....I race lines differently in multi than I do for ghost racing or tourney's because I know that there is a car hunting me and not just racing me
Am I the only who who cannot update to play the Great Wall tourney? It says it's up but I simply cannot get to the update.
Don't worry, it's not up for me either. They added the new Great Wall Cup to the game a little early. The actual update should be pushed out soon, hopefully.
Me either...Should be soon since that is a 5 day event cannot be too long Please....my puddle of drool is getting a little annoying Not a surprise that you got there once... hope it sticks this time for you.
Other than the Twitch feature isn't exactly for me (as mentioned before with a maybe better proposal for exciting videos)it's certainly highly interesting technically anyway. And I'm proud that A8 will be the first game featuring that live video broadcasting/receiving. Some simple questions to all of you who didn't miss the live test broadcasting sessions: You can insert the FaceTime (frontside) camera, right? And see (and listen to) the playing person. How does this work when you play in tilt mode (the only possible mode for some local friends here and me)? Can you record those sessions (and watch later)? Or are they live-only events? Thanks in advance for enlightenment. We can't await the new tracks!!! Come on, Gameloft, spit them out! (Smashing App Store App "Update" button three times per second since hours.) Can't watch that often enough: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Official annoucements.
Have any of you guys ever experimented with hitting nitro before you complete your last spin on the flat spins? Seems like firing nitro while your car isn't facing forward would detract from your speed, but the game may not take that into consideration and increase your car's forward momentum even when your car's animation is still in the process of completing the final spin. I wonder which is faster: waiting until your car is facing forward again after a flat spin before hitting nitro or hitting nitro just before completing the last spin (similar to hitting nitro before you completely land barrel rolls or just regular ramp jumps)?
Rlly like this game, but the omission of manual throttle with touch steering completely and 100% ruins this title for me. All other control set ups are available minus the one I mentioned. Wtf, Gameloft. Pitiful, truly.
