@ sweetdiss. The cars I'd avoid for now are the Silver lightning and the Koenigsegg. They are very skittish on the road. I'd also avoid the Ferrari 430 and the Bmw M6. They are a bit on the expensive side for what they can do. For now at least, I'd avoid them. The Ferrari 458 is one of my favourites but it might too many upgrades. It is very enjoyable though and I always thought it was worth it. I also really like the F12 Ferrari. It's not the top performer but its a lot of fun and very grippy. The Lotus Exige is great car as well as is the Sesto Elemento. The S class Ruf is very stable and the Ferrari FXX is good performer that sounds great. I can't remember the prices of any of those cars by the way so sorry if I've spent all your cash already. But looking at what you have I'd either focus on the late A and early S class cars. Or alternatively, get the cars for the unique events and earn some more stars with those which will automatically earn you more cash. I'd also use a coin doubler (if you have spare ones from earning them in multiplayer) if you go with that option because you do earn more the first time you run a race. And its a lot more in season 6 and above.

I found a weird "bug" in the rating of the tournaments today. This morning, I sank my teeth in the final match of the V8 tournament, which proved to be quite a challenge, for I don't have the Ferrari yet. Yet... I played a few rounds, and came in second with a time of 1:11:something. But, the next time, lucky for me, the Ferrari in front of me crashed, and I won in 1:12:something. I thought, great, number one, and a time of 1:11. But, after the sync, my tournament rating went down to 1:12. It seems, that the server only saves one result, but that isn't always the fastest one. Did enyone else encounter such a thing? And does anyone feel like becoming friend on GameCenter? My name there is ReinoutV, looking forward to racing your ghosts!
So who here thinks that a 1:25 time is realistic for the Gallardo cup – without infinite nitro? Can you explain what I'm missing? I'm at 1:29 after a few tries, and I might be able to make it into the 1:28s if I practice a lot, but three more seconds? How? (I like how #1 didn't even need any boosters for his 1:00 time, by the way. )
Starting out fresh with this game... could someone share their opinion on which car/cars they'd recommend buying to progress through the game? The last thing I want to do is spend my hard earned in-game cash on a dud car or cars
There have been numerous posts by Rip Habukuk and others. I am sure they will reply with some tips as they are nice like that, alternatively just search this thread for posts by them! I can't really give many tips, but here's a few; get the Survolt early on (think it's a class C but it's been a while), don't buy cars to complete certain one off races only do that when you need the stars, upgrade handling.
As Mess said, the best thing to do is use the search this thread tool at the top of the page. Search for posts by Rip73 for my own posts. Early in the thread, you'll find a good few posts by me and around my own posts from others with some good tips. I'd search myself and repost but I've limited time today, sorry. I did some posts for Mr Charley a few pages back, around page 244/246 that probably will answer you're question hope fully. EDIT. Middle of page 241 is most recent tips for starting out and last post of page 245 has some multiplayer tips. They are the most recent ones that you should find useful. Good luck with it. On the cheaters that running bird and tolitsg brought up, they were removed before the end of the laferrari event so I'll assume the same will be done here with this one. Late 1:25 is possible but you'd need a "perfect storm" to get it and be extraordinarily luckily with the nitros and perfect runs. I'm not sure doing the event over and over again would be enough because not clipping a wall alone is difficult. Anything faster than that though is an obvious cheat. I'm a bit confused as to why the cheats are that stupid really to think no one would notice.
Hey everyone - The Asphalt 8 team will be monitoring the tournaments for suspicious times (like the 1:00 one people are asking about) just like with the LaFerrari tournament. If it appears that any player on the leader board has been hacking/using illegitimate ways to win, they will be taken care of. Fear not!
You know, that's what I'm wondering about. Granted, Alps forward is a different track, but in the LaFerrari cup, perfect storm vs. average run was a 0.5 second difference for me. So the difference here surprises me, especially since my 1:29 run felt pretty perfect-ish already, but I guess I'll have to take your word for it. EDIT: OK, so I did practice some more, and we'll have to agree to disagree, Rip73. 1:28 should be possible if you have an absolutely perfect run, and if you're really good — me, I can't even get below 1:29 if I hit zero walls on the entire track. So unless there's a shortcut I never found, I'm not buying the 1:25 times at all. That's the last ranked cup I've participated in.
I'm liking the LaFerrari. Maxed out, it's a solid A Class car, right up with the Sesto. I think I still prefer the Sesto for its acceleration, but the LaFerrari has better handling and doesn't jump off the road nearly as often. It's definitely more worth the price tag than the F430. Based on its stats, the F430 should've either been cheaper or in the B Class, maybe both.
Maybe you're right, I dunno. I:30 is the best I managed but I didn't really try that hard to be honest and I'm thinking that if a cheater was using an infinite nitro hack (which I'm obviously strongly opposed to), that they'd gain more than five seconds on my time. I'd estimate a ten second gain on my time or more and I'm pretty sure the guy that had a 1:17 was removed because he had a nitro hack that they detected. Of course, that's just guesswork on the times but I am inclined to think that they can detect nitro hacks and do remove them. Maybe some manage to slip through. It's always a tough time to keep up with hackers and detect all of them. I know they are working on greater security across the board on all their games and hopefully one will be an auto detect and auto delete of hacker times. And an auto ban would be what they deserve.
I just noticed they must have done some major rebalancing in multiplayer matchmaking. The range in car rank you are matched up with is much greater yet the overall balance of the car specs seem to be more even...I think. Also, I just turned off the music and left other sounds on and it is so nice. I was really getting sick of all that crappy music...excluding QOTSA.
