I love what Rockstar did with the cheaters in Max Payne 3 (great, great game btw, complete shame it wasn't financially successful): put 'em all on the same server so they only play with each other.

    Agreed.
    It was kinda genius even.
A digital time out or sin bin that showed them exactly how frustrating and damaging their hacking is. Loved it.
I wouldn't really have called any of the questions intrusive. They were just general demographic type stuff that had no identify specific stuff.
Anyway, not to worry, what's most significant is that the survey is there at all and that development of new stuff is on the cards or ongoing which is great news. I'd like many of the options there and am really looking forward to seeing what they do develop further for it. Some new tracks would be nice and I do like the idea of different types of vehicles.
I think the team multiplayer thing is a shoe in because its already there (in a way) in GT R 2.
The survey alone made me very happy because it demonstrates clearly that it ain't over yet by any means. :)

There are no crashes in the game without reason.
If you were in the air and crashed, you either went outside of the playing area, in which case a note pops up on screen telling you as much or you hit another flying object.

In relation to your previous post, lens flare is part of the effects of the game and is there for realism and one must compensate for it in game. It's just part of the realistic environment that they aimed for and adds more immersion.
In relation to leftovers of CPU crashes, well getting tangled up in a crash, its a racing game, it happens. Try and turn and avoid them instead.
They are key elements of the game though. Trying to avoid crashing or getting knocked out is part of it. It's an arcade racer. And crashing is also part of it.
Part of the challenge in mastering it is honing skills to avoid exactly those things.
I don't get the problem with an arcade racer that one crashes in. Most (if not all) arcade racers have crashes as a key element and avoiding crashes as one of the key skills to master.

This question may have been asked previously but

Has anyone encountered the warp/Easter egg in French Guiana - taking the right hand lane into the chicanes, just as you bear right to drop off into the "gold nitro" lane - I bumped another car, thought I was going to wreck but instead I fell INTO OUTERSPACE AND FLOATED BACK TO EARTH for a 10.03 sec airtime!!!! And you come back to the track with NO wreck! You actually are looking down at the earth (blue with continents) - if I hadn't been so shocked, I would have gotten a screen grab

I have tried to duplicate it dozens of times, both bumping the AI and just crunching the wall solo but cannot seem to do it again. Gives me a hell of a record air time though! (See shot)

Yes. A friend of mine experienced this once during a local multiplayer race and I almost didn't believe him.

What will be the next version? Asphalt 9: Outerspace?

I'm pretty late to the party and only recently started playing this game. Really liking it.
I've totally completed the first 2 seasons. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to grind for coins?

I would have happily paid for the coin doubler but the fact it's only good for 24hrs is a no go for me. I don't have hours to play at a time to make it worthwhile.

Is there are a car I should save for and play on a certain track that gives a good payout?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Right now my best car is that Citroen and even when I win in multiplayer, I only get about 1000coins....
    Help... :)

    Thanks in advance.

If you're going to buy anything, but one of the car packs. C and D car pack are what I got when I restarted the game fresh at one stage and it served me very well.
As you're at season two so you have cars already and without knowing which ones you have, just buy a pack in which you have no cars, a B class pack being the maximum you'll need. They do offer good value. Don't not her with any of the credit packs.
At your stage, the B class is probably the best option as it'll set you up nicely for later seasons and if the Citreon is you max car, it won't be a waste as you probably have more cars in the other lower cars.
I'm not sure if the credit packs offer any real value for money in relation to the value the car packs offer so I never bothered with one of those.

In saying that, you could just avoid getting packs (although they spec deserve something for such a good game) by playing multiplayer and getting win streaks.
The win streaks will reward 2500 for three wins (wins are classified as placing in the top three) and then it goes to either upgrades for class of cars, a nitro boost booster, a mechanic booster or a credit booster. It'll vary at which stage it gives you specific rewards but it gives a reward at three wins, five wins, seven wins and nine wins in a row. And bear in mind a win is a top three finish.
I've earned a lot of boosters from minimum play of the multiplayer, five or six of them being credit boosters which gives me a lot of leeway to use them whenever I want without worrying about the 24 hour limit they have.

Also, the specific race that will reward most is generally whatever is the furthest along one on one race that you have unlocked so for you at the moment, whatever one on one late in season two. It gets higher as you go along.
And use the credit boosters late in each season for the first time you run a race because it pays more with medal bonuses for those 5 stars the first time you get them.

Also, the daily races that are on are the best payers if you already own the car. They generally give about 3500 (with medals) each time you run them. I used them a lot when they first appeared.

And finally on the multiplayer, use the Citreon Survolt for the time being. At about 2 or 3 upgrade levels. Don't upgrade higher than that for now because it'll put you in with different car class and I'm finding my one more competitive in relation to the other cars at the mid upgrade level.

There are more tips from myself, Hanukak, VirtualBoyFreak, running bird and some others early in the thread (say between pages 50 mad 100) so if you search the thread for posts by any I've listed there, you should be able to find a range of tips from us and around us in that here real page area. I know, its a lot of pages but if you keep it to that kinda general area of page numbers, there should be plenty there. And hopefully some of the post is useful.

    Good luck with it.

    No problem.

I forgot one thing as well.
Buy cars selectively. Don't feel a need to buy all of them and just the ones you want.

I know you need some particular cars for particular events but I generally skipped those events, if I didn't already own the car, until I needed the events for stars to unlock other events or until I had spare cash hanging around.

Certain cars are better in each tier. My personal favourites are Audi S4, Lamborghini Veneno and Sesto Elemto, 458, love it in a race, Lotus Exige and then Survolt for multiplayer.

I'm already on season 6. Bought B, C, D car packs, but haven't spent a cent on anything yet. I've achieved 300k gold and I'm still thinking on what cars to purchase. I guess I'm unconsciously waiting for a sale of the A and S class IAP's, to spend all my gold on car updates and my real money on the remaining car packs :D

My suggestion would be to stop thinking about it and shift your focus towards multiplayer for a while. As Rip73 pointed out, the coin doublers you get as a reward for win streaks make it easier than ever to make money there — once you earn 13k per race (level 85 x double credits), you kinda stop wondering what car you should save your credits for. You just buy them. :)

Speaking of win streaks: I'm on an uninterrupted win streak ever since that feature was introduced. It's a pity I forgot to count, but judging from the boosters I won, I must be way past 50 consecutive podium finishes. Probably 70. That stretch goal I suggested a while ago suddenly seems very realistic.

I can't do it! I can't have a race now without crashing! I had 20 races and crashed every time!

Was that 20 times the same car, bigjack66? If so, which one? (If I had to guess, I'd say it was the Silver Lightning. So beautiful, yet so perilous.)

You're gonna need to offer a bit more detail than that if you want some useful tips.
Are you using nitro in corners, going to fast into bends and not drifting, using the Koenigsegg or the silver lightning with no handling upgrades (which would make those cars particularly twitchy and difficult to control)? Something contextual would give a better idea.

Certain cars handle a lot worse and are very twitchy and difficult to control without knowing the track or the car. A certain level of skill is required.
Certain angles that you hit or clip walls or ramps will result in a crash, its physics.
Other faster cars will knock you out.
You might need to adjust the control setup.
I dunno, without details its a bit difficult to make a suggestion that might help.

The game is very forgiving but does still have individual characteristics for each of the cars so there is a learning curve. Certain upgrades, particularly the handling ones are very helpful to the car behaviour.

The camber changes on the road surfaces as well which will have an effect on a car, certain tracks are bumpy, some are slippy in parts, sometimes going in to a corner too fast will cause a spin out. And numerous other factors in the physics engine and environment of the game. For some, a bit more caution on track will be required.

Crashes are a part of it as I've already said and avoiding crashing is part of the challenge but crashing 20 times in a row just tells me you're doing something wrong and expecting the game to be even more forgiving or have the cars set up wrong or are just using the wrong cars or are just not factoring in the physics or the environments and road surface. I dunno.
If you give us some more details, such as car and track and track area, we'll try and help with some tips.

I've hit walls and ramps, had bumps and water throw the handling off and spin out on just about every track so I've a pretty good idea where the danger spots are. The Koenigsegg and Silver Lightning are constantly twitchy cars that require continuos course correction that I've crashed more than any car in the game.
Its all part of a learning curve that is in the game and that learning curve is very important in making the game much more interesting and challenging. It's still very manageable though so 20 crashes in a row does surprise me.

What are good cars for multiplayer races?

I've recently gone back to playing A8 for my racing fix as RR Splitstream didnt really hit the spot for me.

At the moment in multiplayer, the Citreon Survolt offers the best chance.
I'm playing it with mid level upgrades (2 or 3 on each tier) and placing in the top three al the time.
You will race a lot of other Survolts is the problem as it is quite dominant but some rebalancing and tweaking will be done at some stage.

Other good ones are the Sesto Elemento, Lotus Exige, Cadillac ATS (can't explain that one but it works), Renault Clio (another one that just works well most of the time with what its matched to by the server), Nissan GTR, Mclaren 12 and Ferrari FXX (though this one has a greater chance of letting you down than the others, it still sounds great and is competitive enough if you're smart and tidy in a race).

It will vary on matchmaking, number of people on line and level of upgrades, which will affect what cars and opponents you're matched with so in my situation I've kept upgrades on all (bar the 458, which I maxed out by mistake) to mid level on each just so I know where I stand and kind of cars I'll compete with.

So far though, the Survolt, Sesto Elemto and the Mclaren have served me best and would be the main ones I recommend.

I would personally like to see the Survolt and the range of matchmaking it makes it in to tightened a bit because it does get a bit tiring to have to race it so much in order to just compete on a level playing field in certain tiers. The balancing of it is being looked at though so don't invest too much in upgrades on it just in case it does get tightened up (which it probably will).

For those who are into that kind of thing, the cars Rip73 mentioned are also great multiplayer cars if you max them out. Simply put, if you compare them to other cars with similar rankings, some of Asphalt 8's cars are slightly better than their base ranking suggests (good multiplayer choices), some are slightly worse (bad multiplayer choices), and some are average (meh). That's why the good ones are good almost regardless of how much you've upgraded them.

Additional affordable cars that have worked well for me when tuned to the max are the Scion FR-S, the Mini, the Nissan 370Z, and the Alfa Romeo 8C.

Regardless of your choice, use both the nitro and the tuning kit boosters. They'll pay for themselves within a few races.

@Rip73: What's your mid-level Survolt's rank? I'd love to know which car I'd have to use to encounter you on multiplayer. It's probably going to be the MiTo or A4, and your Survolt is probably going to wipe the floor with that. :D
