I guess you could do it that way but you'd still constantly have to be paying attention and hitting next every minute of that hour. For a more enjoyable and comparable pay off I just play multiplayer. You can make a 1/4 to 1/3 the money before win streak awards. With those you can actually make more money with free upgrades and the eventual double credit prize. The double credit bonus is the absolute best way to roll in the cash. If you play multiplayer enough there is no need for farming or buying anything. Although I feel guilty and I probably should buy something considering all the enjoyment I've gotten out of this game. I'm almost at 100% though and want to complete it without having to buy anything. I'll just buy something as a donation after I've completed single player.
So who got a LaFerrari? I did, to my honest surprise. Last time I checked, a couple of hours before the cup ended, I was at #420, so I thought I'd end up at #550 or something eventually. Anyway, if you didn't win one, you're not missing much, at least in terms of multiplayer potential. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car in and of itself, but its Asphalt 8 rating is simply too high, just like the original top A class car, the RT 12 S, was never competitive in its rating bracket. Fully upgraded and boosted, these are the LaFerrari's stats: Rank: 1609 Acceleration: 1.86 s Top Speed: 375 km/h Handling: 1.317 Gs Nitro: 53 km/h Now compare and contrast that with a similarly maxed-out Sesto Elemento: Rank: 1589 Acceleration: 1.66 s Top Speed: 377 km/h Handling: 1.368 Gs Nitro: 45 km/h (Sorry about specifying km/h, rather than mph. I'm German.) Sure, you can beat the Sesto Elemento and various slightly-better-but-lower-ranked S class cars if you're good, but unless you're into needlessly tough challenges, there's just no good reason to use the LaFerrari. Looks good in my garage, though. Disclaimer: This mini review's verdict does not apply to fellow racers like Habakuk, who play local multiplayer most of the time. I'm sure the LaFerrari would be a hoot there!
So I see Running Bird was able to lock down the LeFerrari, congrats by the way. Was anyone else able to win one?
I have to admit I didn't really pay attention to my credits balance before upgrading vs. after, but I'm guessing it was somewhere between 200k and 300k, as usual in that car category. Thanks!
Naw, missed out by fractions of milliseconds. Literally fractions of milliseconds. 'Twas very competitive. Lot of fun though. Just gonna have to buy it when it appears in garage. Luckily enough I've won quite a few credit boosters (4 or 5 I think) in multiplayer so I'm covered for that as well. Its real handy that they are rewards, a really generous reward, because they are hugely beneficial Any idea how long it'll take to appear in the garage by the way?
This is the first car I haven't won. How long did it take the other cars (clio, f430, M6...) to appear in the garage for sale?
It took the others about three days to a week and a half. It varied from car to car but about three was the average and a week and a half the max.
Multiplayer Weirdness Zero loss/gain for everyone? The final ranking wash-up for No.1 was losing a point (1871 next sync). During the race that No.2 car was glitching to make Wreckit Sarah proud - I haven't seen anything like it before.
@didaho: Oooh, that answers my question from a few pages earlier. So the Cadillac ATS is what all the cool kids drive these days! (It's also interesting that #2 in your screenshot, who just happens to be the world series leader by a huge margin, glitches a lot.)
Multiplayer race with 968 rank difference?! Recently, I was in a multiplayer race and came in second. However, the first place was won by a car whose rank was 968 points above my own! Why is this happening? Yes, I like to race with a full 8 players, but adding race cars whose rank is ridiculously high is, well, ridiculous. Would you willingly race a D-class Dodge Dart GT versus an S-class Lamborghini Veneno? Screenshot attached.
After attending the laFerrari cup, I personally think the reward is not worthy of my effort. It took me more than 100 of attempts (may be there were much more) to be in the top 499. Talking in the economic aspect, normally in other Time Limited Events, 100 attempts would make 300k credits while in a new-car-cup like the laFerrari, you only lose credit. For me, I lost more than 200k in renting fee, boosters. So actually, I paid more than 500k for my little laferrari (A fabulous car which is a bit slower than the Lambor Sesto Elemento while their ranks are quite the same). And who knows that later on I could have it from the shop just by a click with less than 500k of credit. I would say that the cup was fun, okay but fun is not the only thing I look for in a painfully competitive scene like that. Ps: sorry guys for my English, it's my second language.
You pay for exclusivity. I have checked my car garage and I cannot buy the LaFerrari yet. When will it available? How much will it cost? Which class is it? You know most of the answers because you won the car, but normal mortals have to wait for it to appear in the garage to know all the answers. That's what you get: exclusivity
I'm normally the first one to complain about hackers and glitchers, but the problem is hackers are always going to hack, they always find a way no matter how often the security gets updated or changed. The last update blocked all the known and public hacks and glitches that were there (except the iap hack which the new jailbreak "accommodated" those cheaters and downright thieves) and the hackers couldn't play online on the older version at that stage. Much to their disappointment and my pleasure. Unfortunately these kind of (insert appropriate extreme denigrating word) will always find a way so the developer is always playing catchup. So as much as I hate those hackers/glitchers/iap thieves, I've come to accept that its a game of cat and mouse with them. Many, many people have been banned from the game and they are always trying to catch them but its not very easy to track them and detect the code that got modified (there is a lot of code in the game) and you can't really ban someone unless you can prove they have "glitched" (cheated basically). That's not to say effort is not being made, each update will either remove the hacks or bans will be given out, they just have to keep to be able to prove it and detect it and that simply takes time to find and then build in. I still hate them hackers despite knowing its a game of cat and mouse but it also means I care very little for leaderboards because there will always be a question mark attached. You should always report anybody you suspect. But keep it to someone you know has cheated or have played against and seen their cheat. There would be no point in reporting those that are simply good because it takes time to investigate the user and that is time that should be spent investigating actual cheaters in order to catch and ban as many of them as possible. Reports always get investigated and proven ones always get banned. Use the customer care option under settings to do that. So Didaho, use the customer care option, report the player and explain what was going on in the race and they will be investigated. If they have a mod or hack, they will be banned. @flatwell, yeah that one is particularly unusual and ridiculous alright. Definitely a match making error there. Again what would be handy is if you sent in that screenshot using the customer care option. I know that is time consuming in itself but you would amazed at the number of random unfounded stuff that any customer care department receives but you have genuine evidence of a mistake there that would be acted upon quicker because you have actual evidence.
Sorry but the only answer I got is its class, it's A. It is placed after the Ferrari F430 (300k), so I guess it will cost more than 300k.
Definitely, as Rip stated, report anyone who you think might be hacking. The best way we can investigate hacks is by looking at suspicious accounts. We are actively making changes in-house to better deal with hackers and exploits across all of our games so I'm excited to see the impact these changes eventually have.
Is anyone else sick of the constant crashes. In the race not the app I can't get anywhere in any race because I crash into some thing three or four times in a race and most if the time it's not even my fault but crashing into the leftovers of a CPU crash and lens flare so you can't see what's ahead of you on track! I've had enough!
Asphalt 8 just asked me to participate in a survey, and although some of the questions felt a bit intrusive, I completed it. I voted for a couple of additions (Truck racing? Why not? I used to love 4x4 Evo on the Mac!), but the teams suggestion stands out, in my opinion. Just imagine, there could be a multiplayer team championship! How awesome would that be?
Interesting! I didn't know the team was putting in a survey. Definitely if you get the option to fill it out please do. Between that and the feedback I pass along from here we can definitely work on tweaking the game!
