I believe 1:02. It's just the top 2 times at around 50 seconds...there's no way. Everyone else is at 1 minute or more. They are either cheating or found a warp zone.
For 50 seconds I agree it must be a hacked time. I made 1:08 on a quite good race and took the shortest route. 6-7 seconds less is achievable by crashing less, but 18 seconds less is too much.
Agreed on the top two times. I'm hoping more don't show up. I've sent in an email to a very good man at Gameloft who will get someone to look at it and check the times. I'm expecting the hackers to be removed before the end of it. Late 1:01 (1:01:59 - 1:01:30) times are definitely achievable but they will be the top times and I'd be quite surprised if anybody breaks in to the 1:00 at all. But sub 1 minute, I don't actually believe is even technically even with any kind of nitro hack because my I:02 was with the nitro and mechanic booster and a lot nitro stringing (must do better on that) and even at that to get the time I did, I had to avoid knock downs completely (well one or two side knockdowns, no rear end ones), never drift and only airtime once under the bridge to get the three big nitro drops in that area. @VirtualBoyFreak, (I have to say I love you're gamecenter avatar, it's very cool) cheers mate, nice of you to say that. I didn't think Scrotally thought I was one of those miserable hackers (hate them guys in any game) but cheers, appreciated. I too was a tad (ie very) annoyed at those sub 1 minute times so I got what he meant. But here's how I got the 1:02. I'm aiming to break into the 1:01's but I'll have to honest and say I'm not really sure if I can do it myself. Running Bird is very close to me at the moment so I think he has a good chance of doing it. Basically, one or two side knockdown at start, no rear end ones, pick up the blue nitro just after the ramp, don't use ramp, no drift into first bend but keep as left as possible so you don't drift out too far and are lined up to pick up first yellow nitro, take shortcut to right, hit the two boulders, don't use the ramp, out of nitro by then but got a perfect run so hit nitro, don't take bridge, go lower road to left (or straight on really), hit the ramp up to bridge, pick up the two yellow nitros on bridge, keep left for third nitro before tunnel, be careful there, don't hit end of barriers of bridge or wall of tunnel as you will need the perfect run for the nitro boost at the end, hit the lamp posts for short nitro boosts if needed but again be careful not to hit side of track. I think avoiding any knockdown at the very start will be the key to a quicker time than outlined above. And skip that first ramp, drains a huge amount of time, but do keep as left as possible. Oh and obviously you will need nitro boost for full nitro at beginning and that mechanic boost that increase performance of your car. I tried it without the ramp to get on the bridge and it cost me nearly a second so that is the one and only ramp that one must use just to get the two yellow nitros on the bridge. I hope that's clear enough but I'm inclined not to bet on that as I just reread it and I'm not sure I understood it even Run the race and hopefully it'll be clearer. Anyway, best of luck to ye, hopefully it helps some bit. And dont any of ye knock me out of that top 499
Great break down. I could picture every detail. I play it almost exactly the same. My last time was 102.9 ranked at 502. I was doing the first barrel roll...thought the boost made it worth it but maybe not. I'll try without. I'm curious if there is a way to find out the total number of players in the overall multiplayer rankings. I'm getting up there and want to know the total to put it in perspective. Do you have any idea?
I also like the new reward system, where daily players get a bonus. So nothing changes, for I was playing every day already . What I did notice, and didn't really like, is that the reward for participating is significantly less than before. So just participating in S8 elimination only gives you 290 point, instead of the 1.4K before. No more eleminating our way to the new Ferrari's, which I can't afford, for I need to upgrade my cars to compete in the tournaments... Dammit...
About what "Top 2" times are you all talking about? What one-minute-race? A special online tournament?
Framerates got better on my ipad 4 too, so that is really cool. Played for about 3 hours tonight, pretty rare when I play one game that long. Still could play more, but gotta go to sleep.
Yeah it's the current online tournament where you can win the laferrari if you finish in the top 500.
That's a good time. Looks like we will have to get another second to be safe, I'll let you know if I find a way. I must try that barrel roll as well. Not sure where I'll get that full second from but only 10 or 20 very close times between me and the top 499 so must try that little bit harder. Your multiplayer ranking is listed on the tab in the middle of the bottom of the creen in them main screen. I think its actually called "ranking" but once you go in there it lists your position, the top 100 and your position I relation to the people on your friends list. Just use the multiplayer win streak bonus. I've gotten three of the 24 hour coin doubters already from that and I haven't even put in much time to get them. They are semi random but they seem to either come up as the reward for a fifth, seventh or ninth win in a row. And a top three placing qualifies as a win for the win streaks. And those coin doubters work for 24 hours and are extremely useful (and normally an 89c iap so they are a great little bonus for nothing but placing in the top three). As to the rewards, I checked and they all are the same as they always were for me. So dunno what's going on there. I do know that when you first ever run a race the rewards are higher due to medal bonuses which you only get once and can't be got again but for winning without the medal bonus on a re run of a race you've already won all the medals in, it's still the same and Gameloft and Ryan has confirmed that they never tweaked or changed the reward system at all at any stage.
Hey Gameloft_Ryan, can you tell me the total number of players in the multiplayer or is there somewhere I can find it? Also, I'm sure it's been talked about but will they ever add the option to invite friends to race against via Game Center? It kinda sucks that I can't play my favorite mobile game with friends. I know about local matches but I like many people can't get my spouse to play competitive games with me.
There is an app for that: Didn't check it personally (will do as soon as I can find the time for it) but with that app you should be able to play the same race (with selected players) in two different WiFis.
Now that's interesting. I've always done that barrel roll after the two boulders, because if I managed to roll twice, the nitro seemed to be worth it. Hmm. I'll have to try it your way.
There's an app to force my wife to play with me? Awesome!!! I do remember seeing the post of that app. Looks cool but I don't remember it having many/any impressions. Also I'd have to convince friends to buy it and go through the steps. Just don't understand why such a great multiplayer game like A8 doesn't have it built in. It was in the previous Asphalt, granted you had to go through gameloft live but that was fine.
No problem man, it doesn't feel like A8 has been out that long but in reality it's been out almost half a year now! My time at Gameloft has been flying by! So needless to say, it's okay if your memory is a little hazy I don't have any of those statistics handy right now. I'll ask if I can get them but I'm not 100% sure I'll get those numbers, we'll have to wait and see. Also - Thanks everyone for the heads up about the top 2 times. I'll be emailing the team today and just let them know about it. Typically with tournaments like this we do investigate anomalies such as these times to make sure each winner is legitimate. I can't get my head round Infected. Is it down to staying in the lead from the get go or getting infected at the right time? I can't stand it: worst mode. But am I missing something obvious that makes it actually great?
