Transformed is awesome. Not entirely sure I like the unlock / IAP system. Sure, I could just suck it up and get the IAP for the whole thing for like $15 total and it would still be cheaper than other versions of the game but I like to earn stuff. That said, as I mentioned, the drift events are tough for me. Think I just got so used to drifting in A8. Overall, though, the game is a blast and I'd recommend it. Love how you can be flying a plane, driving a boat or a car all in the same race. I'm a sucker for kart racers. Well, I'm a sucker for any good racer. Back on A8, I also find that it doesn't play as well on my Nexus 7, but at least I can still get a fix every once in a while until I have as room again on my 4S.
Thanks manly man! Yeah, it's nice having games like this both on android and ios. Been playing Asphalt 7 the past couple of days. Guess I gotta start playing A8 soon again. I like the cloud saving.
Asphalt will always be a top quality ios racing game. That being said: Don't mock the one talking about sonic transformed. I've been having hours of fun on that as well. It's an amazing kart racer, to be honest probably the best on ios to date. Angry birds go was some quality stuff, until everyone realized energy limited you to playing, and extra carts were 50$ (LOL). Sonics a blast though; visuals & controls on point. Plane, boat, and cart all in one Btw: sonic drifting does get easier , you'll have it mastered in no time ^.^
Asphalt 8 has an easy drifting system. Ridge racing splitstream is alot harder to get in and control, though it is fun to learn the nuasances. I'll probably pick up sonic transformed, curious how the drifting is there compared to Asphalt 8 and Ridge Racer Splitstream.
First off, hey everyone, I'm back! A hard reset on the device should clear up this issue. A few people posted about it and it has to do with a memory leak and iOS 7 that causes issues when running Asphalt 8. It's something our Dev team is aware of and I have passed crash logs players posted earlier in the thread so hopefully we can fix it! There isn't cross-Operating System play with Gameloft games right now. Windows players will only be able to play with other Windows users. The Facebook integration is something we are working on improving so the service not working properly right now should only be temporary. It's got something to do with native Facebook support on the devices I believe. I'm the Community Manager for Gameloft here in San Fran and frequent the TA forums. I'm the one you'd want to talk to about this type of feedback! I'll do my best to tackle each of your points here: #1 - This has been brought up before but more than likely won't change. This feature is a stylistic one that the Devs liked and implemented while creating the game. As of right now there aren't any plans to tweak this but if it changes I'll let you all know. Some advice to be careful about steering during it are all valid and can help you if you're having trouble adjusting. #2 - This is something that has been mentioned before as well. I've forwarded this suggestion along to the Devs to consider for future updates. #3 - Good to know about the multiplayer system. I know the Devs are monitoring the MP scene for a variety of things and will be constantly updating it to provide the best experience possible. I'll try to see if there is anything in the pipe for improvements! We are going to be supporting A8 for a long time with content updates and improvements so I'm optimistic that most of the issues can be fixed and improved upon in the near future! Pretty much! As the Community Manager I get to hang out on forums and read tons of posts
Welcome back GL_Ryan. Hope you enjoyed the holidays! Unrelated to this thread, but any new son release of Modern Combat 5?
MC5 was sweet, so much prettier and way better framerates at the time. But that was so long ago, it must have improved since that time.
I'm working on catching back up with all of the teams to see what's going on with our upcoming games. If I get anything new to share I'll probably have it by the end of the week! I'm slowly getting back up to speed Based on what I've seen though the team is hard at work!
Asphalt 8 version 1.2 available in the appstore now! New cars, daily cumulative bonus and multiplayer winstreak bonusses. Halfway the download now lets see what it brings us...
You've nothing to worry about, its a very sweet update rewards wise. I just raced the Lotus Elise in multiplayer and built up a lot of rewards from the win in a row bonus thingy that they added. Got some credits, some boosters, some upgrades and, icing on the cake, a double credits booster. Granted I had to finish in top 3 seven times in a row (or maybe its 9, I kinda lost track in the middle of it) but I stuck to lower tiers and it was really quite easy. Reached max reward level so must go off and do it all again now to get more. In short, the multiplayer rewards are a huge improvement and well worth it for that alone. Daily log in thing works like in RR3. It builds up from 20% to 100% for first race over five days. Dunno if it stays at 100 once you reach it but it probably does, I guess I'll know in five days. Either way it is an extra reward that is well worth it. The Laferrari is very sweet too. Not sure if I'll win it (top 499 get it for free, same number as they are making) but top 100 at minute so fingers crossed. Plus first on iOS to have the car. Still if I miss out on it in the tournament, I still must have it. The Pagani hasn't showed up yet so I assume it'll be the next big win car. Overall, an excellent update that definitely makes the multiplayer well worth playing now and has increased rewards potential quite a lot.
There's no need to worry, as far as I can tell — it's a good update. There aren't any new annoying in-app-purchase reminders, but there are two really nice additions: 1) Ferrari F430: Is that new in the update? I haven't played in a while. Anyway, it's a beautifully balanced car, and it just might be my new favorite. It also gets pitted against a wide array of actually competitive cars in multiplayer, so it's a lot of fun. 2) Multiplayer "Win Streaks" are a great idea. Not so much because of the rewards (if you're a regular multiplayer participant, you make more in-app money than you can spend anyway), but because of the addictive concept. Well done, Gameloft! (I'm at 5 of 7 wins right now. I wonder what the maximum streak length/reward is.) EDIT: Rip73 beat me to it. Oh well. By the way, thanks for making me realize that I don't even have to win to continue my win streak!
^ No. Ferrari F430 was inside before (since a few days). Some of the new things in v1.2: There are some new in-between images like this: V 1.2. With Bugatti in London (iPad Air): New homescreen icon. Old/new: Tried local mp for one hour on iPad 3 and iPad Air: Absolute stable like before. Maybe even a tiny bit smoother on both devices. Couldn't find anything new in local multiplayer (Win Streaks)…
I see. Thanks for the pointer! Oh, and to answer my own win streak question after four more wins: The maximum streak length is nine races. That is a teensy bit of a bummer. It would have been great if there were stretch goals like 20, 50, and 100, for instance. How about adding those in a future update, Ryan?
Haha! Those are pretty lofty goals! I can't make any promises but I think we will see how everyone likes the streak rewards in their current iteration and also how they perform over an extended period of time. I also wanted to pick your brain on the new intro screen after updates that show "What's New in this Update." It's something new we are trying and I feel like it looked pretty solid and shows off the key features in a nice/neat way. Let me know what you guys think and if you enjoy seeing the key elements of the update right after when you start playing again.
