I dropped TWO stars, believe it or not. I didn't want to have my favorite iOS game going the cheapo ad-plastered tour you know. It begins with one ad and ends with "watch some crappy videos now and buy the newest car for free". But the danger seems to be banned.

It has nothing to do with money. Asphalt 8 is easily worth 59 or 99 US$.

    Thanks.

I haven't seen any more fullscreen ads for other Gameloft games in Asphalt 8 for more than two weeks now. So I gave them back the two stars and it's again a clearly five star premium game in my opinion. The last "ad" (which isn't an ad exactly and goes fully okay) we've seen some days ago is in the attachment.

We are having a blast with local multiplayer races almost every day. It always gets better.

Asphalt 8: Airborne is on the TOP of the touchArcade editor's list!

Best iPhone and iPad Games of 2013

    Congratulations! Well deserved!

And now everybody goes nominating A8 in the TA forums' Game of the YEAR 2013 [Nominate your fav games now!] A matter of three seconds. Hit Add Reply there, type Asphalt 8 (feel free to copy & paste :p), Submit Reply. Done.

Let the most frantic action win! Encourage devs to create more entertaining and nerve-shattering AAA highspeed precision games.

Look how A8 won easily the Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Week (August 22). 58-point difference here, probably one of the biggest gaps between first and second place on the GotW poll, if not the biggest.

    Hall of fame GotW poll:

    Early adopters? 69p?

    I paid about £5, I think.

Is this now working on iOS 7 ?

Or rather, is anyone else still getting crashes on launch?

Yes. Go nominating! There seems to be some hard competition of deadly boring "tap here, tap there" games. (Just kidding.)

Asphalt 8 was 69p/$.99/.89€ at launch in August, then there were some free sales and since November it's free forever. Previous versions were much more expensive.

Sorry for you. We never had any problems with Asphalt 8 on iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air (crashed ONCE to homescreen right after the huge iOS 7 update—and NEVER again) and iPhone 5. Simultaneous local multiplayer with up to five devices rock stable for MANY, MANY HOURS.

The old question is current again: Did you ever jailbreak your device?

    It's a 5s. Never jailbroken.

    I'll try reinstalling again.

(works perfectly on the ipad 4)

  9. Hope that works, never had any crashing problems either on ipad 3 or ipad 4.

Habukuk, I already nominated Asphalt 8 as Game of the Year, and more than likely, I will vote for it once the nominations are over.

Good girl. :D There is definitely some competition in the racer genre these days but Asphalt 8: Airborne is still the most frantic action, it's so incredible crazy and so über-realistic in some aspects. There are TONS of the best cars. The software is equipped with extras and specials like no other one. Rock solid multiplayer modes with lots of options.

We are fighting for milliseconds in local multiplayer races and it's the better fun the more we're playing. A trippy ground flight—nothing more and nothing less.

What a service! New announcement video, new impressive car, new homescreen icon:

The Ferrari F430 is a sports car that was produced by the Italian automaker from 2004 to 2009, as a successor to the 360. It debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Its replacement, the Ferrari 458 Italia, was unveiled on 28 July 2009.

The body styling of the F430 was revised from its predecessor, the Ferrari 360, to improve its aerodynamic efficiency. The F430 features a 4.3L V8 gas engine derived from a shared Ferrari/Maserati design. This new power plant was a significant departure for Ferrari, as all previous Ferrari V8's were descendants of the Dino racing program of the 1950s. This fifty-year development cycle came to an end with the entirely new 4.3L, the architecture of which is expected to replace the Dino-derived V12 in most other Ferrari cars. The F430 has a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.0 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the old model.

The F430 featured the E-Diff, a computer-controlled limited slip active differential which can vary the distribution of torque based on inputs such as steering angle and lateral acceleration.

Impeccable. They are keeping things fresh even for career mode only players. Perfect!

Drift, roll and spin to the TA forums' Game of the YEAR 2013 [Nominate your fav games now!] thread! Nominate now, vote later! (You don't need to list ten games, one is enough for your nomination. Choose the best game wisely. Guess what…)

  11. Thank you Habukuk. Yeah, getting to be some great racers on ios. Remember the past days when you, me, rip73, and killjoy would be having fun in the racing threads. Good to see you got some of the other new games lately and coming into their threads. Asphalt 8 is awesome, and the thrills in this game are through the roof.

Can anyone confirm that this game uses a cloud save feature on iOS? If I delete it from my device and add it again later will I be able to resume where I left off?

I'm living very intense in the presence and can't remember anything.

Just kidding. Of course I do.

We can't repeat that often enough. The more we play it, the more this fact is valid. Nice to make some sidesteps then and when, but Asphalt 8: Airborne is there where we have our cosy emotional iOS racing mothership.

Will try that as soon as possible. Absolutely no spare time these days. Have to work for three.

I never deleted A8 (this is valid for A6, A7, too) from any devices. But it should work since A6 (or maybe even A5). A8 makes use of Game Center as the first of the Asphalt series.

You can switch Game Center accounts separately from your A8 installation btw. In other words: When you re-install A8 you should be able to choose which Game Center account (with all settings) you load (if you have more than one GC account which is recommended if you want to try out some different upgrade strategies, it's like the player register slots in good ol' DOS days).

We are using this method in local multiplayer races. All devices with the same GC account—all have the same settings and upgrades—absolutely fair races.

  15. Yeah, I've deleted and even moved to a new ipad 4, and icloud worked fine.

Just for the records. One of touchArcade's top and most respected forums poster migrates Asphalt 8: Airborne as soon as a new device is ready.

I'm doing the same btw. (Even bought an iPad Air—Asphalt 8 was one of the main reasons and I didn't regret it at all. Smooth as butter. Brilliant. Solid and stable for hours. Lots of hours. Easy to hold in tilt mode. Same battery runtime as iPad 4 and iPad 3. Welcome in the third millennium.) But always when I buy a new iPad (I as a heavy user owned all the full-size iPads and have still three) I take the chance and clear the storage space from all the clutter. There are almost NO games migrating on my new iPads.

The Asphalt series is the rare exception here. For some local friends and me Game of the Year and Game of the Millennium. Since Asphalt 4.

2 questions for fellow Windows Phone users here:
    • * Can games on Windows Phone be synced across other platforms, eg Android and iOS? I haven't had success with my iPad...
    • * Can you invite friends on Facebook? I keep getting the "Sorry, this feature isn't available right now." error, as if Asphalt 8 is currently blocked by Facebook or something...

Probably the Best Car Race on Tablet But 3 HUGE Bad Things That Need Fixing..

Asphalt 8 and NBA 2k14 are one of the 2 best games on Kindle.. BUT...

ASPHALT 8 just needs a couple fixes that are big things...

#1. That whole thing where the camera does a complete 360 behind you, just to check out the knockdown you made while you're driving 250 mph in the other direction, going forward, is dumb as crap. That makes me crash about 1/2 of the time when I normally wouldn't of. They need to update that to an OPTION you can turn off if you don't want it.

#2. Once you've upgraded your car with a new feature (higher acceleration, topspeed , handling and nitro or whatever). You should be able to either go back and downgrade it or sell an upgrade you just made if you change your mind. There's been a couple times when I actually earned a crapload of money, $75,000 or more, and then after I spend it on an upgrade my car's gotten slower. Right after I topped out my GTA to the MAX level on all 4 upgrades, it now starts off at the line a lot slower than it did before I did the last upgrade before that one. I wanna go back to 1595. My GTA's rank is topped out at 1610 now. I might not of won the race at 1595, but it used to take the faster higher ranked cars like the EVO 1625 a whole lap just to catch up to me and pass me. Because my handling was stiffer at that rank than it is at 1610 now. Now I start off slower and still don't win. Not fun like before when they had to catch me and not crash or lose.

#3. In the multiplayer races whoever's got the higher rank just wins. Everytime. Unless they crash and dont end up passing you after. It's boring. All you gotta do is look at the rank of everybody before the race and know who's gonna win. That's not a race. Dude with a car ranked 1625 always beats the dude with the 1580 and that dude beats the dude driving the 1450. BORRING. After playing multiplayer the first time you see that. I didn't play it for awhile after that because it was boring. Not until I got higher ranked cars did I start playing it again. Just because I knew I could win. But it's still corny. You always lose to the dude ranked a lot higher. It's got nothing to do with your car's speed or tuning just rank number. They need to update it so that you only race people in the exact same rank level as you or tune the different classes up to the same top speed or rank. The classes like A- B- D and S. All the S's should top out at the same highest speed or same number rank. Or acceleration. Make it a race not a rank competition. Isn't that the point of the game. Tune your car up to race it online. Not play a numbers game with rank.

They should seriously look into updating these things.

Anybody know where you can leave feedback on the game where the makers of the game ask for it? Can't get the comment box to show up so i can leave one under the article on here "Asphalt 8 Now Permanently free" where some guy from the company checks it out http://toucharcade.com/2013/11/04/asphalt-8-now-permanently-free-updated-with-new-content-and-apple-gamepad-support/
