Post your route! I haven't played since earlier because of alcohol, but when I get a chance tomorrow, I need a refined path. I hit the nitro on the start, then get into swift-drift as soon as it runs out. I ride that drift through the first two right swings, staying on the right road (not left and onto the beach), and I let it loose once the straight-away hits. Gotta hit both orange tanks in that path, and also smash every drone in quick range. Sorry, thought I was going to be able to go through the whole race, but I now realize I'll have to do that while I'm rocking it. I know my path up to that point is solid, but that's like 15-20% of the race. The last 30% is where I'm unsure, I've tried a lot of options. I need to find the one that keeps the nitro burning the hottest. There are so many options once you cross the double jump boardwalk. What I do know for sure is that you HAVE to go right after those jumps. If you go left of the buses, you have no chance. Every route to the right is faster than the nitro-laden left route.
As soon as that bridge is done, take the underway, (tunnel route) where you get 6 blue nitro packs, 3 times in set of 2. Just make sure you just touch it otherwise if you go inline you will wreck yourself because of wall. And as soon as you enter tunnel, smash every pillar you see, to keep your nos going on. Exiting tunnel, dont go up on ramps, rather slight drifting nitro, till you get the gold nitro, then burn up the nitro, should be enough till next final gold nitro, and you will be getting a perfect run in between too (if you do correctly). So you should be able to make it.
Can't believe they made this free. A slap in the face for us early adopters. Classic bait and switch gameloft tactics. They should give us free cars as compensation or something.
They gave us 1 of each of those new booster pack for early adopting. So that is good. And i dont regret buying it at any cost, whatever it may be, coz game is simply awesome. I even got the iap.
I hate Gameloft tricks... Gameloft_Ryan Could you detail this, please... NEW CARS: New cars will appear at any moment! So have fun and check often! When they will appear? Where they will appear? Which new cars will appear? Can we purchase them? Are they part of some Class? Check often means what?
Well this game has lost its magic hold on me it would seem. Cant bring myself to play it for some reason.
Well I more meant I stopped playing a while ago then tried again after the update and cant bring myself to play it lol
Talking about A8s local multiplayer, advanced OS/hardware, history and psycho stuff Wow! What a high quality thread! Getting the best iOS action game for free or almost free and still ranting and getting bored. Where do you go, tA forums? What do people expect of a video game? Come on… We—some local friends and Habakuk—are playing Asphalt 8 local multiplayer for hours if we can find some extra spare time (what is pretty hard in these days what I regret more than ever). The most played iOS game on our devices BY FAR (well, Asphalt 7: Heat still has to be beaten in total played game time)! And this after trying and playing about 8,000 iOS games. Local multiplayer now with the recent and very welcome update heavily extended with all tracks (except London) in reverse direction (and even easier setup, less taps to repeat a race)! Some of my friends here are racers (moto) in real life. They told me that they never played a video game where the racing/combat feeling is that real. The emotional part, not the simulation part. The latter is pretty unreal in A8 and it compensates perfectly—with excellent dramaturgic, cinematographic, psychologic and almost esoteric tricks—that you’re NOT sitting in a car (but just on a fauteuil with your little iPad in hands). I almost forget that I’m not sitting in a car when I play Asphalt. Hard to describe. Most exciting. Most features. Most frantic action. Best speed feeling. Best cars. Best tracks. Best sounds. Best graphics. Best gameplay. Best controls (extended as well with the recent update). Best hightech software programming. Best everything. (Marketing could be better maybe.) Challenging career mode. A never ending excitement in local multiplayer mode. Always complete new and never expected situations!!! A nerve-shattering and trippy groundflight in the fight for milliseconds. On the sofa! Pure iOS power! Try that (local multiplayer mode) with Android devices or any other mobile crap… We never experienced and expected something like this before and we are playing intensively video games for some decades believe me. I had no idea what’s inside when I bought my first iPhone in 2008. What you’ve got your precious iPhones and iPads for?! ¡¡¡Try local multiplayer with some buddies and experience a complete new (well, since four years or so…) gaming feeling!!! Right now. Do it! Yes you can! Please don’t tell me that you can’t find anybody with an iOS device because you’re living alone in some desert, wood or on a giant lake. The game is FREE now, everybody can load it for nothing. Free your space and delete that repeatedly boring Infinity Blade stuff or some movies you’ll never watch again. The option for local multiplayer ("Local Wi-Fi Race") is down the list on the right side of the main screen. Log in with the same Game Center account (via Apple Game Center app): All iOS devices have the same cars and the same power-ups. Absolutely FAIR races only in local multiplayer mode. No happy cheaters who have bought their muscle cars with real money. No hackers, no fake ranks 99. No waiting for everybody being ready for an online race (what works pretty fast with A8 online mp anyway compared to other games but it still needs 1.5 min or more sometimes and my spare time is RARE). A new local multiplayer race starts in ten seconds reliably! No cables. No additional hardware. A local multiplayer race is a hundred times more amusing than online multiplayer!!! We played Asphalt local multiplayer mode for MONTHS literally. Thousands and thousands of races! It NEVER get’s old. It always gets better! (Because the players are getting better with each race. Over the years.) No boring races against some anonymous and almost virtual persons you’ll never meet in your life personally. Check out who has the best reactions, reflexes and nerves! At home, at school, at campus, at work, in the train or jet. You just need a Wi-Fi. (In A7, A6 there was also a Bluetooth option.) THAT’S what I call a social experience! (Minor rant: Won’t need those new consumables power-ups ever but will have to tap them away before every lmp race. Would even pay some € maybe to get rid of them.) The only REAL problem I’m having with A8: It’s simply too cheap. People believe it must be garbage because it costs nothing. It’s worth $49.99 or even more. Hence last week I bought the movie After Earth for €16.99 and was diverted a tiny bit for not even two hours… We couldn’t await the end (a waste of time anyway…) and hit the A8 icons on our iPads immediately after movie. But that’s not my problem exactly. Download it or not, play it or not, it’s really not my problem. (Just be aware that you could miss something.) But I insanely hope that Gameloft will develop the Asphalt series further (and especially the local multiplayer mode where is still room for much more). Read my lips… uhm, pixels: Gameloft's Asphalt series are the best action video games of all times and on all consumer hard- and software platforms! Can’t await to play it with my shiny new iPad Air (already ordered but will have to wait another two weeks because the 128GB/Cellular was sold out). The Asphalt series is one of the MOST important reasons why we always need to have the newest hardware. Thanks for reading. Greetings from Vienna, Austria, Central Europe. The building where Mr. Ferdinand Porsche sen. learned mechanics is two minutes from my place (Lohner-Porsche). (Walking, not by car.) Just around the corner. As well as Dr. Sigmund Freud’s home and medical practice (it’s a museum now). The next corner. Pretty psycho here. Mr. Porsche invented the electric wheel hub motor in 1896 and the hybrid motor in 1899! Post scriptum: Please support local multiplayer mode. It’s almost gone on classic consoles. Remember split-screen? Much, much better than all the online crap believe me. You’re online but ALONE. And lost. Maybe you can win races and post it to some "social" network but psychologically you’re really lost. And your loved ones just around you are alone and lost as well with you being online all the time. Biol.: Homo erectus => Homo sapiens => Homo virtualensis. Try the most exciting Asphalt 8: Airborne LOCAL multiplayer mode and tell about your experiences please. Thank you very much in advance.
It gets really repetitive after a while and the AI is sometimes very difficult. And also, I wanna see you try to play it on iphone 4#
This game worked great on my iphone 4s. I play it on my ipad because of the larger screen/graphics (and saving conflicts - had to stick with one device to not lose progress).
@ Habakuk The only thing I dislike here: The dang size. I use an ole 4 so multi isn't an option. Yet I love the game. Its literally awesome. Because it reminds me of this: My first game. It has turbo, stunt jumps and crashes. Thank you gameloft. Because this is my second favorite title from you. Splendid job. Edit: Dangnabit. Gonna dl this AGAIN. Goodbye 10000 free MB. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
game is ruined <rant> it was good while it lasts. i've come so far to 675 stars, mid of season 8, when suddenly reality hit me. i can never complete this game!! I can never beat ai cars that scores 75+ above me - hence i need a better car or upgrades. however, at this level, upgrades cost $30k plus, while one new round (with fresh stars to win) only gives you $10k and there are only 3 round left (that does not involve purchasing unrealistically priced cars). options: grind or IAP. 1. grind: the fastest way to grind is ferrari fxx vs bugatti, if you win, you get $4k. a more realistic way (at least for me) to grind is season 8 monaco elimination (lose the game and get almost $2k for participating, you can do it whilst watching tv - that's 45s guaranteed $2k compared to the former - 3 minutish, $4k, IF you win - and if you don't wreck and restart race) 2. purchase iap. needless to say, i've got better things to do, and even my one cent is better spent somewhere else. I've already paid $0.99 for being early adopter, now that they charge nothing for the game. At this point, I miss asphalt 7. iap was not needed and it was fun through and through. although i respect gameloft's business model, what i feel inside is a bitter taste of how i was reminded how a monetary model rules our world, even in virtual world of asphalt. i kind of expected a fun game through and through, where no real money involved. a fun world where there is no need to face such difficult situation: organic growth (grind) or iap (take loan). I wish i could complete the game without IAP. but it's just a game, i cannot justify spending some more $ or too much time going into it. some people can, but not me (you are all free to agree to disagree). I can never buy koenigsegg agera, even benz silver lightning is not going to be affordable by grinding my way of raising money (realistically, that's 80 times winning ferrarri vs bugatti or 160 times losing monaco elimination). hell even ruf rt12s is not even in my mind. so how the f do i complete the game? I still have to purchase lotus exige, aston martin zagato, nissan r35, audi rs4, and the rest of S class other than one fxx that i own. not to mention some stages requires us to upgrade to the max to win (think you can win london elimination s08 ford shelby gt500 without significant upgrades?) multiplayer only gives you so little money that you'd better of grind somewhere else. what fun is there to play one scene over and over again? with our 24h in the world, how many hours must we spend into boredom just to complete one game? if there are more stages to conquer, that wouldnt be too boring, but grinding... it's too much. i play this game to have fun, if it ain't fun, better spend that time or $ somewhere else. this game started very fun and positive, but now it leaves me with bad taste in my mouth. that being said, the game is fun alright, probably the only game in my ipad that i play, it's just so limiting for people who doesn't want to spend more $ into iap or too much time and mood grinding. </rant> who agree? who doesn't agree? who can suggest a better way to complete the game (other than grinding too much that it sores or iap)? (i wrote a review in appstore giving 4 stars, content about the same)
