also at 11:12 THE MECH!!!! ITS MOVING!! looks like every track's got sooo many roads and shortcuts!! seeing water effects on the second track blew my mind. and damn!! how does all of this fit in 800mb. isn't asphalt 7 more than 1 gb?? guess visuals aren't of any effect on the file size
Man, get in to work and see you all have already found out about the good news. Get ready to race on August 22nd! Glad we were finally able to lock down a date and let you all know!
The game looks phenomenal ... visually it's a huge step up from A7. Kudos to all involved. This and Modern Combat 5 are on my must have list.
Glad to hear it The little bit of MC5 I've gotten to play is up there with A8 in terms of beauty and improvement so I'm excited for both games!
Ryan, are you able to tell us if the iPad Mini is running the game with some sort of anti aliasing to compensate for the lower resolution and to avoid jaggies? I know that with Retina devices this is almost not needed since the resolution is so huge, but this was something that really bothered me playing A7 on my Mini.
I have no idea haha, I never had to change any settings to have it run smoothly so as far as I know I was having the native experience of the build on the mini. I would just get a new build and put it on the mini and fire it up. There was no need to tweak anything as a player. That's a bit more technical than my experience with the devices haha, if this vague answer doesn't help I can try and ask and find out though.
That would be great if you could. Actually this isn't changeable in graphical options (at least it wasn't in past Asphalts). I just want to be sure that the Mini version is good looking enough to avoid buying an iPad 4 just to play A8 on it's full glory. It's actually quite easy to spot if anti aliasing is enabled or not, in A7 on the Mini it was enabled on the car selection screen but not in game if my memory serves me well. The idea is to clean the "stair" effect of a polygon when it's not a straight line. You can compare the game using an iPad 4 and the Mini and look to the car while in race to see if there's noticeable aliasing on the Mini. But well, maybe asking around who should know about it should be easier, hehehe.
Ahh if it's just a matter of comparing, I've played on both a 4 and a mini and there is no difference. So you should be good to go!
