This guy literally makes stuff up in order to make A7 sound like gran turismo or some shit. Nitro is another thing I'm glad to see fixed in A8. A7's was annoying.
I've actually played most of my Asphalt 8 game time on a mini and it handles it really well. Those things pack a punch! If I get to do a live stream of this game (fingers crossed) it'll more than likely be on a mini I think.
That is particularly good to hear. I was a bit concerned that the iPad mini might be a tad underpowered for high end games of this type but you allay my concerns. And yeah, we are still looking forward to the live stream, keep on it because we love dev interaction around here (something you're doing particularly well by the way Ryan).
Well, I played Gran Turismo in an arcade booth at E3, and as you know, I enjoyed playing A8 better, of course it is comparing apples to oranges though as you mentioned before.
How am I "not really getting it via work"? I GET IT VIA MY WORK, so therefore I am really getting via my work. I get a nice corporate discount and its deducted from my salary before tax over the course of the year. My 32GB WiFi iPad 4 is around £30 a month, don't even notice it ... Why pay full price in one go and pay more via the Apple Store when my work purchase it, deliver it via courier, discount it, and deduct it from my salary in a manner that I hardly notice. "lol" The only downside is the timing because they do it midway through the lifecycle of the device, but its still a great offer. And as for iPads lasting two years before Apple phase them out, we'll Apple discontinued the 3 after 7 months.
Yeah, initially there wasn't much between the 3 and 4 but that tends to be the case in all iOS devices during the first 6-8 months until developers begin to take advantage of the newer chip. Those benchmarks for the A6X while great on paper are still nothing but potential until developers make use of it. The only title I've seen a major difference on is NOVA 3 which does look stunning at full resolution and all effects enabled, but other than that its mainly little extra effects (motion blur during nitrous in NFS MW) and better frame rates. Titles like Modern Combat 5, Asphalt 8, Space Hulk will show the A6X's potential ... I hope.
Yeah, thank ryan and gameloft for the last Nova 3 update which made the ipad 3 retina version framerate much much improved. That was the only game during the whole ipad 3 vs ipad 4 thread (the stickied thread in the ipad forum) that I cared about at the release of the ipad 4. But an update came out and boom my ipad 3 was whole again. But yeah, as of about one month ago, some games just don't seem optimized for ipad 3 anymore as they used to be. Games still run ok on it overall, but some of the console like games are getting framerate laggy or not using ipad retina. So, I agree with you, it maybe time to retire my ipad 3, but even though everyone will always make fun of it, it has served me faithfully, and only as of late did I not regret having an ipad 4. And those of us that were early adopters got to experience the wonder of ipad retina which made alot of people really jealous for quite a long time. It was my first ipad, and no matter what anyone says about my underpowered ipad, I will always cherish the good times.
Thank you man, and thanks to gameloft , and not that I don't believe you, but how do you know it's official
