September 10th..? That's not Summer, that's Autumn. The game should be scheduled for release either this Wednesday or the next. Fingers crossed for this Wednesday. And to the dipshit who decided to put a fake Asphalt 8 on the AppStore, thank you for making gameloft delay A8.
No way. The game was delayed because of a fake. There's no way something so minor could delay this by a month. Stop thinking there's any relevance between this app and Apple's new devices.
Its a fair assessment (not necessarily correct though, but close) of the announcement of iPhone 5S/5M but you're kinda making an assumption of association that is in no way proven. I'm all for "allthingsd" and their accuracy but lets not start to make false assumptions based on one article.
This sounds a little bit like Habakuk's theory. If he and Habakuk are right, alot of you will be eating crow. I am willing to bet anyone a buck app it will not release next week too.
Quoted for truth... Hehe... So what's up kj? It'll be interesting to see who will be good at this game.
I do hope i'm wrong, gentlemen. Had no idea about the reason for the delay. Wow! That's really a shame.
Fake Asphalt 8 hit Android. Developer name. Game Luft. Lol https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AsphaltAirborneGame.free
I'll take that buck if it relates to the "eating crow" part, because a random theory based on a random sentence in a random article linked to another random article about a release of products with no confirmed announcement or release date from one of the most security conscious companies in the world, linked to a game that is almost (ie is just about) complete in any way whatsoever relating to any of these unfounded and misguided theories, that's a bet I'll take. Confidently. And win it. Edit. There's a lot of key things people are missing with the theories about Apple product launches and this game. The game will be awesome, no doubt, but if a game gets tied to a major Apple product launch, its not a previously announced game (rumours and such, maybe). New Apple product launches generally lead to new unannounced apps that have major tie ins to the new product or software and are generally used to exemplify some new features in either the product or the software. Eg. An old example, Infinity Blade 1 equalled Unreal Engine on mobile iOS. Another example, Real Racing 3 equalled a level of graphical detail (brake lights per pixel count being substantially higher than the modelling of any car in RR2 as an example) and TSM (much derided but still a new concept at the time). Real Racing 2 was first for many things but real car damage was an important marketing factor at the time. And numerous others such as IB 2, which exemplified real time shadows, amongst other things, for iOS 5 as another simple example. Basically previously announced and previewed products are not "revolutionary" enough for Apple product launches. Context is very important guys. That is not to say that this game will not be awesome, it will. It will be the new king of racers on iOS. But at the 5s/5m launch, we will be seeing stuff most have not seen yet. There will be some impressive stuff. Probably.
No, my buck bet is only whether it releases next week or not. Offer valid til tomorrow. Us store code only. About Habakuk and the other's theory on releasing after the iphone or ipad reveal conferences, can't say I believe it, but I don't discount it as blasphemy either. And this new theory about not releasing cause of the fake app, I don't buy into that one either. Maybe they need more time to work on it, maybe it is somehow related to the new devices, maybe Anonymous stole the source code... Who knows, I just don't think it is releasing next week. People seemed to think I was a fool before by even questioning whether it would release on the 8th. Well, my next hunch is it won't release next week, but sure I wouldn't mind being wrong.
Darn, I could do with an extra buck. Poker just ain't going my way tonight. Anyway, no ones a fool for guesses here and there at all. It really is just as simple as they are getting it right. Sometimes in development things don't go the way you expect and what one does is fix them to the way you want. That's basically what's going on here. No conspiracy. No Apple subtext. No fake release. etc. etc. Or whatever else. Its as simple as Gameloft had a lot of success with A7, they're not gonna mess that up by releasing its successor before its ready. That's it. July was part of the original plan, then the 8th, but the thing is software just sometimes is not black or white and some things take longer than planned. Will it be next week or the week after? I dunno at this stage. One thing I do know, when its ready and they're happy with it, we'll get it. They've put a hell of a lot of work into it. They want it out there as much as we do. They just are gonna make sure its right before that happens. And as far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing. The same division is developing MC5 and that's one I'm really looking forward to and the commitment to quality reassures me.
So basically what you're saying is, you no longer think Habukuk is right after Rip's breakdown of why you'd be stupid to think it was, and that you now have no idea what to think, but that it's seemlingly most likely and probably not going to release next week. We all thank you for your philosophical contributions.
I still hope it releases next week, but if it doesn't come out there are two more weeks until summer ends, and gameloft said the game will come out this summer, the best thing we can do is wait . But I would like that Ryan is here and tell us if there is any new info
No, on Google Play about two days before august 8th, a game with the title "Asphalt 8 Airborne" was released by a publisher named Game Luft. Some think that the delay was caused because of this.
