Yeah, kj, hehe, I am looking forward to Habakuk's thesis rebuttal too, at least it's better than reading a lot of posts about it not being released today. I'm also curious what the heck we are going to talk about if what Habakuk saying is true. Ipad 5 can't release probably til end of Sept or October, so it'll be interesting what we talk about in this thread. Maybe the usual killing and mutilation of dogs stuff, hehe. Signed, Connector Vice President of the Asphalt 8 Homerz Squad
Well considering beta 5 followed beta 4 only in a week, I'm sure ios 7 official release is closer to release then you think.
It does. All of the E3 demos were done on current gen iPads so all the awesomeness you see in previews were using hardware already available.
Lol wut? I sat in the back cause I have glasses and didn't want to get picked on to answer questions haha.
It's not coming out today or tomorrow. I promise you that. We are all hoping it comes out sooner rather than later and as soon as I get solid information from the development team I'll fill you all in.
Nope, its not. For numerous different reasons and factors that I won't outline here as it would be very off topic. The purpose of my original post was to give people an idea of timeline in relation to the iPad 5 speculation in association with Asphalt 8 that was going on and that the two did not tie in together in any possible way. Beyond that, it doesn't matter, but the data is very well informed and accurate to within a 10 day guideline. Make of it what you will, but lets just disregard all this iPad 5/Asphalt 8 speculation that is occurring due to a single sentence in a single article relating to a scenario in which Apple can actually change things more or less on the fly anyway, as demonstrated with Gangstar Vegas release.
I can confirm the E3 alpha version on an ipad 4 was rock solid. Absolutely no framerate issues with lots of special effects on. Makes me wonder though how it will run on ipad 3, whether it will be retina or reduced special effects. And also how it will look on the ipad 5, whether that version will be much better. If it is, it may prod me into getting the awesome ipad 5.
^ Thanks, Connector! Cool photo. I saw (and still see) a gulf *) between the iPad 3 and iPad 4 when it comes to Asphalt 7. And that since the very day when iPad 4 came out afair. Asphalt was updated almost immediately. The same with iPhone 5. Asphalt was the first software by third-party devs that was updated with 16:9 ratio. *) Okay. Let's say you have to know the iOS devices and the software very good to see (graphics) and feel (physics, control) the differences. A gulf you can see/feel when you compare with even older devices.
Good decision avoiding your original argument and dodging the replies showing you up. You were really close to looking stupid. Oh wait.
Let's tone things down a bit. Everyone's irritated that the game got delayed, but spouting wild theories or snapping at each other isn't going to help matters any.
As you would, considering the iPad 3 is massively underpowered. As everybody should know at this stage but most in the industry knew at the time. Even Apple. Hence (partially) iPad 4, 7 months later. All of that is pretty obvious stuff. Not much available as yet comes even close to using the full potential of the iPad 4 (maybe XCom or RR3 to some extent but held back by older devices compatibility). Asphalt 8 (and Forgotten Memories more so) should come close.
Of course there's a gulf from 3 to 4, and I alluded to that very fact in my post when I said with the exception of the iPad 3 due to the A5X issue. The iPad 4 is a powerhouse, the potential is frightening if you look at the benchmarks (1700 v 700). iPad 4 to 5 will not see the kind of gulf that titles like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 will have on comparing iPad 3 to 4. iPad 4 will remain relevant for far longer than the iPad 3, which is a shame for owners of the 3 but I'm glad I upgraded and my wife is happy with my old 3!
Yeah, so far haven't felt the crushing urge to have an ipad 4 over my underpowered ipad 3, but I kinda felt it a little for Sine Mora. Hopefully my ipad 3 will break soon, since I have apple plus, wonder if they would give me an ipad 4 to replace it. Regardless, if A7 rocks way more on the ipad 5 vs ipad 4, then heck yeah, I will probably buy an ipad 5, else, maybe just wait for an ipad 6 which I think will be more focused on console use and joystick use.
