+1 I hope A9 will get proper tuning, or at least this game by updates. Altering paint is never enough.
I never really liked A7's customization anyway so I don't care that much what's changed. Would have liked some more tuning/vinyl options, especially tuning, but whatever. Game looks so much better than A7 in every other aspect that I don't even care. But it should be a goal in A9 My favorite game of all time. It's spoiled me in regards to car customization (and other things I'm sure) I've never been satisfied with a game like I was underground 2. This.
Ryan already said there was proper car parts tuning in 4 categories. That applies to performance upgrades to the car in different areas. What those areas are and what areas will be affected (trade offs for example) we will know at release. But to simplify it, as there seems to be some confusion, think a streamlined version of A7. Decals are gone. Rims, vinyls and spoilers weren't there anyway in A7 and won't be in this. The performance related upgrades will be very similar though, seemingly, just simplified and streamlined interface. Easier.
Hehe, first it's Killjoy and now the Publisher ragging on my skillz. Well, even with my handicap, I will still compete! Or at least I hope.
Connector... I remember that you were good with weapons (and triggers). By the way... You have tested the game!
Agreed. Tuning should be balanced instead of just upgrading cars to their limits. And about changes like kits and such, even A2 had those, and GL wasn't that big when that game was released.
In the sense of aftermarket tuning, correct. But in order to get licenced for the inclusion of real world cars, certain rules apply. Or you get no licences from certain manufacturers. That is the trade off for certain real world cars. Some allow it. Some don't. You just can't change the rules for different ones in the same particular game. It may have been possible in earlier versions of the game or in Underground, as said above, but licences evolve and change over time and renewals. Things that were allowed in the past are not now. Brand identity protection on behalf of the manufacturer and all that.
Yeah, you can see what the upgrade affects based on the tuning charts. That way you can determine if a specific upgrade is worth it based on your driving style.
Understood, but I don't think the upgrades currently offered are any different than statistical tuning like described earlier. All you really need to do is allow some personalization of the cars stats rather than merely upgrading them. Like Brrob said, acceleration upgrade could effect top speed and so on. Not the ideal tuning system but I don't think it would intefere with licensing. Not any more than the current upgrade system, at least. I could be wrong of course and probably am. But I'm fairly certain a more advanced, detailed system could be applied without licensing issues. Just a suggestion. It taints my anticipation and excitement for the game in no way. Bring on August 8.
Of course. And what you describe is perfectly possible, if not likely in some form or another. Maybe not exactly as you describe, but close. But it would still be a more simplified process, UI wise, to what currently exists in A7. The licensing thing would only be to protect the visual representation of the cars. Indeed. Thanks.
Hell Ryan As usual... After reviewing the available cars and brands in the Asphalt game, I realized that Audi is a bit behind some other brands. Guess... It's time to replace the Audi R8 for something faster and modern! How to compare an Audi R8 with any Lamborghini? If someday you just remember that, could give a great idea to developers: The Audi Ultra
And what the hell is an ultra. What a miserable looking machine. I refuse to believe that's a real concept. Audi's cooler than that. The Audi R8 is among my favorite cars. Most of which, I'll have you know, are "behind." Or old. Or whatever. Audi R8 > all Lamborghini's Skyline R34 > everything else (completely random and irrelevant but who the hell cares) Gotta have some character, man. Can't all be Lambo's and concepts. It's just cooler.
Lol the ultra doesn't even look like a car. Well said KJ. About the upgrades, the recent version of nfs most wanted is a great example of how it can be done right.
Thanks. Here you have a compilation of the best preview videos and screenshots (for all of you who don't want to dive through this 100+ pages thread for some hours). Yes. But just a minor complaint: The music in the first trailer was better. Don't go too much in direction trance techno. We need to keep the thing a tiny bit realistic. The ground flights are trippy enough. If you want—I have here one of the best techno DJs in Europe for a preview and selection. The background music in A6 and A7 was perfect!
