And Gameloft... CONGRATULATIONS I'm very impressed with the detailing on car damages! I think it's the first time the doors open in a crash... Amazing!
Lee, thanks for those last two posts. Some very useful info there. I'm gonna take a hint from it. Be sure and let us know when the review is up so we can have a look at it. Thanks.
I can't await it too. Have already freed the flash space on three iOS devices (6 GB each just to be on the safe side). I don't know "how official" this website… http://asphalt-8.en.softonic.com/iphone …is but recently they changed the text to: I hope desperately that this is an error or the site is a scam because the very very official teaser video says clearly "coming this summer".
It will look like the screens on the top devices, iPad 4 and iPhone 5. It will be scaled back on older devices as is normal Gameloft. The recent batch of screens are iPad 4. Some earlier ones are iPhone 5. So if you have those devices that's what you'll get. If you have earlier, there will be reduced effects but environments and most of the detail will be intact. Just reduced to varying degrees for lower ram devices. The release is still scheduled for July. No legitimate source has altered that original info. Softonic is certainly useful for some information at times but not always accurate and the article linked was last updated about a month ago. I will actually be surprised if it doesn't hit this week or next.
Watching that one gameplay video with the Veyron, I feel like the drifting mechanics are too effortless. It's hard to tell since the dude playing it sucks, but it seems like you basically hold the brake and regardless of the cars position/angle and without any transferring weight, it begins drifting and automatically angles the car. Releasing the brake exits the drift. I can't even see any counter steer being needed, which is something I hated about NFSMW.. Now that I think of it the drifting is kind of like an effortless NFSMW (not that NFSMW wasn't effortless). I don't actually care, I'm sure it fits the gameplay. It looks nice, is smoother than A7, and obviously works well. I'd just rather there be some effort/skill involved considering there's actually a competitive drift mode. Then again, if it were up to me everyone would be shifting.
What I love most is the improvement in the physics. Even the crash system. Everything is just too fast for the 6th and 7th tier cars that I can't steer anymore. Trying to brake will lead to a drift then it's a hard-hit to the wall. It's just too fast that I can't analyze the road and obstacles. After hearing that the handling shall be improved too, I'm putting this on my wishlist. BTW, Going 360 in that tunnel? AWESOME!
Hope it fly smoothly, without stoping the game! Look at the speed of this flight! Man... COOOOOOOL! All these screenshots are AWESOME! This game seems undeletable! Guess so!
I hope the graphics are as nice as RR3, that was the only novelty that game had, which is why after a few days it got boring. If this game has just as good graphics combined with the overall fun of asphalt games then it should be the bet racing game on ios
Asphalt had always the best physics and controls of all arcade racers. And I own all versions for iPhone, iPad and Mac since Asphalt 4: Elite Racing (besides all other hq racers of course). (We are always playing w tilt controls btw.)
Tilt's the only way to go. I've tried everything, nothing has the control tilt does. This is coming from someone who loathes most acceleramotor controls.
