I'm just hoping it isn't freemium or has the pricing model of asphalt 6... Firemint (rr2) has a great pricing model, hope they emulate that. Not likely, though.
My love for Asphalt 6 is great, and I'm really hoping this one will be a standard, premium game, not Gameloft freemium.
I can already see it: You're in first place, nearing the first lap checkpoint. Oh, what's that? Running out of gas? Dammit! Suddenly, a prompt! Would you like to buy a full tank of gas for $2 dollars USD? Sure, why not! This should get me through a full run-through of the game. Nearing the finish, you're still in first place, and there's nothing between you and a gold trophy. Wait! What's that? I'm running on fumes? Suddenly, a prompt! Would you like to buy a full tank of gas? You decide "to hell with it" and try and win the race without IAP. Right as you're about to cross the finish line your car simply stops. Not a rolling stop. Just stops. Every car behind you crosses and you come in last place. Ah, Good ol Gameloft.
I hear ya! Man, I hate the scenario you brought up there! On one hand I laughed heartily when I read it, and on the other I thought, man, this could actually happen at some point! And that would SUCK! But this is what some devs are aiming for! I'd be shocked at first, then appalled. I'd be pissed, but I'd delete it, then move on. Simple as that! Ain't workin' ME like that!
The modelling of the cars is vastly improved by the looks of it. The tracks look very similar though. Still gonna be an instabuy for me though.
Am I the only one that thinks GL's engine is geared towards making screenshots look good, while continuing to have awkward animations in the gameplay that make the screenshots inconsistent with the game's graphics? Other than that, this looks decent, but I'm not sure yet if I'll bite. It looks incredibly similar to Asphalt 6. I guess time will tell.
Looks like its coming this month as well. 6 new tracks. 10 of the existing tracks. More than 60 cars. Multiplayer. Similar iap to asphalt 6, in other words not freemium. Very much in final build so not too far away. Even with the similarities to 6, still gonna instabuy this.

I think when they say 6 new tracks, they mean new locations, whereas 10 existing tracks are the same locations as previous games but remodelled and new layouts but with landscape elements from other tracks. Which are essentially new tracks. Plus if, say one of the maps is Monaco based using the actual streets of Monaco, (a location I'm familiar with and know the map to be accurate to a certain degree) they can only change the race route, not the actual map. So essentially it means 10 existing locations and 6 new locations.
