I'm downloading this game on my iPhone4 to try (Too lazy to just copy the one installed on my iPad. lol) Game runs very smooth on my iPad2 and iPad3. The iAP is really not required in this game. The controls and graphics is very well done and responsive. This is a steal for $0.99. Thanks Gameloft. My Faith in you was restored.

When you see people hesitant to spend even 69p before being reassured, it's obvious how much Gameloft really shafted themselves by burning their fans last year.

EDIT: which is a shame cause the game's great.

How does this game play with high-end equipment? Late game races in A5 were over 70% wall grinds because the cars were simply too fast to turn.

Thats a bit harsh, i dont always agree with Gabriens views but theyre a breath of fresh air rather than all the one line 'great game' posts which tell you nothing. A LOT of people here dont like IAP's, we all have patience, just get fed up of IAP's.

It 'sounds' like IAP's in this game arent forced down your throat which is great, the problem is many of us (Not just Gabrien) are sick and tired of games where you seem to be forced to buy IAP's.

Hope this ones different, sounds promising.

I would definitely say that you don't need any iap's in this game. I have played for about 2 to 3 hours now, I am in the 4th cup and have about 60 stars and 700000 dollars (just bought the Delorean). No need to buy any extras yet with ISP. I'm really enjoying this one, way more than 5 and 6. Definitely worth 99 cents!

This is good fun at the shallowest, most immediately approachable level. Those who are content to hover thereabouts indefinitely, are likely to glean a lot of enjoyment from the game.

Those who feel compelled to sneak a peek under the bonnet, (*rim shot*) are on the other hand likely to feel like they've been slapped across the face with a dead fish. The flimsiness of the game's mechanics is that apparent.

For my part, I got exactly what I expected: a couple of hours of fun and eye candy for a buck, to be shortly afterwards deleted. Hence, I had no great concern over the file size in this instance, nor the IAP.

Eh, there's NO RETINA GRAPHICS on the new iPad!!!!!!

Or is it just me? The buttons and all are retina
But the resolution in game is the shittiest crap!

First of all I can't understand all those remarks "like A6 but without the bugs". About what bugs are you talking? There were no bugs lately. For me personally the controls and physics are exactly the same as in A6 (what's not a bad thing because they were perfect).

    Don't miss the best thing!

I would like to encourage once more all those tA regulars and iOS specialists to try the LOCAL MULTIPLAYER MODE synced via Bluetooth (not tested w A7 yet but it seems to be the same rock solid thing like in A6). That's a real exciting, most impressive and ABSOLUTE EXCLUSIVE iOS feature!!! The one and only social experience believe me.

We—some friends and I—are playing this almost every day for HOURS and can't stop. It's hard to describe what pure FUN this is seeing your buddy flying right above you. Pure FIGHTING sometimes. MUCH better than all that online stuff and all that classic console stuff where all are staring at a split screen monitor.

Therefore I'll NEVER delete Asphalt from ANY of my devices. Find someone with an iOS device URGENTLY and try that. In A6 (where you can buy a Mac version, I am pretty sure that will follow for A7 as well) you can multiplay cross platform (WiFi only).

I just want to have the top gamers here NOT to miss one of the most exciting iOS features. A complete NEW (okay since A5) gaming feeling!

Right i've just bought this, fingers crossed it'll work alright on my ipod 4th gen. Freed up a lot of space for this, still 42 minutes to download ! Weird.

From the video it looks a fun arcade style racer, the variety seems great and the IAP's dont seem too bad. Its only 69p so it seems worth it. Weird its taking so long to download though.

Can you see a list of cars in it ? Does it have the Audi TT ?

Finally, i beat London - Old School Arcade - Cup 5!!!! Took me a while to get 3 stars on this one. Anyone else had difficulty completing this level? Honestly the amount of time given to get 3 stars seems barely enough!

I'm well aware of your affinity with this series and its local multiplayer. :) In fact, I think you were the first person I thought of when I saw this release. I think it's awesome you can have this much fun with it, honest, and I am more than happy to take your word for how great it is. ;)

  12. Typing on my iphone so will keep this short for now. Plays really well on the new ipad BUT play with the camera angle with the hood, then it rocks...

Much better than 6, and well worth 99 cents. The file size is a little big, but the inapps are not bad seem more cosmetic than needed.

Highly recommended for the new ipad, but remember to use the camera angle with the hood.

Just been playing it on my ipod touch 4th gen ios 5.1.

At the start it seemed a bit stuttery with all the other cars, soon smoothed out and had a few great races. Well worth the tiny 69p, i'm not looking to buy any IAP's with this but it sounds like its not bad at all regarding earning coins/stars etc.

Happy i cleared up the space for it, great little racing game

    Yeah I've noticed that...

I just cant understand why so many are umming and ahhring over a massive arcade racer they're familiar with that cost 69p!! 99c...

What did gameloft do with A6 that was so bad that people are hesitant to purchase A7? If you were a fan of A6, the release of A7 seemed like a no brainer to me, especially if you followed all the release notes/sneak peaks and previews...

Anither thing, can't check right now since I'm at work. Has this game got iCloud support; will I be able to continue my career from my iPad to my iPhone?

Really loving this game so far, there isn't even a need to spend anything since the free cars in their stock form are able to win the races anyway.

Just one thing though, is there anything that allows us to use one save between two devices? Gameloft doesn't support iCloud so..

The game itself is good, but iPad 3 users be aware it looks BAD! I have almost 100k from the first cup and 12 stars. But really, it's really bad looking on iPad 3. It's NOT retina optimized. The menu and text is, but the game isn't. I'm starting to get annoyed by Gameloft, lazy to make it work on Retina iPad. I don't care iPad 2 is faster, turn some effects down I'd much rather have crisp (worse) graphics than jaggy that make my eyes hurt.

I did make the math and if I'm correct: Buying Asphalt 7 is much cheaper than buying all those supercars. ;)

Would love to have some vintage classic cars tiers in Asphalt 8. Like the Citroën SM combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension with a Maserati V6 engine inside. Would fit perfectly to the iOS devices.

Oh. I'm feeling honored. Thanks, Gabrien. And don't forget to play a local multiplayer game before you delete A6 or A7 (and you won't delete it).
