    Downloaded!
    NOTES:
-The icon is cool (the car, at least) but it feels like the '7' was slapped on there at the last minute.
-The game doesn't have the same atmosphere as Asphalt 6...it has a better atmosphere!
    -Sleeker.
    -Graphics are obviously better.
-I did a quick race, the cars were very good, the handling was much better than A6, and I noticed shortcuts. Glad they kept adrenaline!
-I don't like the cash icon in-game (its a picture of like, 2 dollars. I liked the way it was with '$')
-Everything has to be unlocked with stars!
    -Lots of $!
    -TONS of content!

I haven't played enough to say anything more, but I will hopefully tomorrow. I gotta play more!

  3. Waiting here in the good old USA for the game patiently... Seems like games always come out around 9pm pacific standard time, so looking forward to it. I loved Asphalt 6, and I hope this game is better especially after the first update which I'm sure will come out soon. Hopefully they will work on the new ipads graphics to the fullest.

Only 30 more minutes... Sigh..... Now what to do...

Go play stunt bunnies and mutant storm!

Just finished the first cup. Graphics look great on my 4S and the perfomance is the same if not better than A6. The star system is similar to that of A6, so I can't really complain too much about the IAP system (no, this is nothing like DH3). Overall the racing feel really good, in that arcady super-car way that's a hallmark of the Asphalt series.

GL has made A7 into a leaner, more straightforward racer, though, and I do miss some of the frivolity of A6: walking around your show room, the cheesy narrator before every race, etc. A6 felt a bit more like an "event.". That said, I'm happy to move on to 7, if only because the racing itself feels more solid.

Gotta say that when I woke up this morning and checked twitter and saw that the best arcade racer on iOS was only 99 cents, I wasn't very impressed. I, like many other, just want to pay a fair early asking price and not be deluged with IAP.

But I tell ya, I don't mind grinding. I HATED the fact that I unlocked all the cars with such ease in A6.

Besides the constant, though minor, annoyance of being asked over and over again to share my stats, I don't mind this Asphalt one iota.

It looks better than ever on my 4S (especially love the electricity whenever you pass a car), runs at a decent clip, and there's so much content.

    Color me satisfied.

I also wanna commend Gameloft on putting blue headlights on all of the in-coming traffic. GENIUS! As well, the new take on the old tracks is fantastic. I suggest ALL Asphalt fans buy this right away. ESPECIALLY if you have a newer iDevice.

    Music is horrid, though.

    Hey, Jacob,
Been following your posts tonight here because you've been concerned with the same things as I am and asking the questions I would've asked! Thanks for that! Seeing how you and now others have responded, I'm almost ready to jam the buy button here, but wanted to ask another question. I agree with you about the cash icon in-game, but suspect it's not a deal breaker. But what's with this about the social network thing? Is it really constant and irritating? Also, what do you think about the music? Anything else I should know? Kinda hesitant to delete A6 is why. Know what I'm saying? Getting late here-gonna crash now.Guess I'll still hold off 'til tomorrow and check back here with you and get up to snuff then and get more of others' impressions, too.

Sorry, meant to answer these quicker.
Grinding is not an issue at all. Cars are unlocked left, right and center.
If you're aiming to get a specific car, say Aventador, there is a bit of grinding involved but not much and really that's all a career mode is, you're rewarded with better cars for playing it.
Stars are very easy to get. Three for finishing first and the potential of three more for completing challenges. Very easy, very like Asphalt 6. I personally can't see why anyone would want to or need to buy iap stars. The whole purpose of a campaign mode is to play it through and this does exactly that.
There are a couple of annoying 'share' pop ups and it does try to get you to go to the shop but buying any iap will only take away from the experience of the game and won't improve it in any way.
I'm up to about a million quid and 80 odd stars and I found it all easy to accumulate without any grinding or iap or star purchasing.
And the difficulty level in the game does increase as you progress so the challenge is there, it just eases you into it.
Overall, a high quality product for a very small price. And yes, i am surprised I'm praising Gameloft over this one because of my iap fears but it is a home run.
And thank god for sound controls. Turn down music and co pilot, jam up sfx and engine.

My post above should answer most of your questions.
But in relation to the music, it's just like it is in 6. It's a bit annoying but I have it turned right down in the controls so doesn't matter anymore.
The social network thing is basically it asks if you want to share each time you get stars but there is a very handy 'ignore' button that comes up with it so after a while it becomes second nature to just tap it so not annoying me anymore.
The cash is definitely not a deal breaker either but that's explained above.
And if you have completed asphalt 6, don't worry about deleting it, you most certainly will enjoy this if you enjoyed 6.

Pretty smooth on my iphone 4s, though that might not be what you were looking for.

I tried 6 earlier, and this one seems even better. Just bought my second car and am upgrading it. Love the shortcuts and sidestreets in this one, plus the different missions.

I finished the first cup just now and i enjoy it a lot more than Asphalt 6.
Everything from graphics to handling seems improved and streamlined.
All tracks are already unlocked for quickplay, which is great I think.

Btw, is there a thread already to share our Gameloft IDs for friend challenges?

A few more impressions before night night.

This is the best damn arcade racer EVER on the app store. It's SOOOOOOOOOO much fun. I've already, from only an hour of racing, unlocked 10 cars. I have 55 stars, and tons of cash.

Really, the only people who will bitch and moan about IAP are Gabrien (because that's what he does and we love him, anyways) people with no patience, and children.

As well, you'd have to be pre-tty darn bad at racing games not to be able to unlock lots right off the bat.

If you've played ANY Asphalt before this one, you should have no problem coming in first most of the time.

The difficulty has been scaled ALL the way back from A6. I like that getting all the stars in a race has NOTHING to do with arbitrary goals anymore. It's simple: you come in first, you knock down so many cars, you get all the stars. Period. K.I.S.S.

Anyway, this is a really beautiful and fast and FUN arcade racer that simply astounds me.

And to think I almost let all the early talk in this thread dissuade me from a cheap purchase of what is, undoubtedly, a game that has matured SO much in two years.

Also, Gameloft devs must've been playing TONS of Jetpack Joyride when developing A7.:D
