I'm loving this game right now. Excellent racing game and iAP done right because you don't need it to progress in the game. For .99 cents this game is a steal.

Yep i agree, i thought it would be IAP heavy but i havent had to buy anything and i'm loving the variety of races. Largest app i've got on my ipod but cant really complain. Well worth the dollar, one of Gamelofts better efforts by far

So funny about Gameloft, they either hit or miss. Modern combat, Nova 3, Asphalt series. Huge success. Freemium games like Lets Golf, Nfl 2013, Six guns thumbs down.

What's equally surprising about that is the fact that this game was $.99. I felt for sure that it was more-or-less going to be a freemium style, IAPs required type game.

Of course, even their premium games end up being $.99 at some point, but this could have and probably should have been at the $6.99 price point like most of their paid games were at launch.

I'd be curious if they made enough money on IAPs from this game to pay off what was clearly a well-developed effort with some bucks behind it.

Rip73, the tracks are rather updated from A6, not 5 ; ) And I did play through 5 thouroughly..

For once I agree fully with Habakuk (pity he can't see it lol).

A4 is quite a bit better than a Java version conversion, but it still is more similiar to A1-3 than A5 or next ones.

Anyway, A5 demo has "SD" graphics, take note.

As for me, I played A5 demo first - one of the first games installed onto my first 3GS (good times: ), got hooked up with one music track and I liked the graphics and the game in general, so I grinded it quite a bit (even if it was only 1 lap on 1 track using 1 of 2 potential cars) ; )

A5 full version was the first game I bought on iOS.
Then I kicked into the multiplayer, and then I started racing a LOT there.
I still have my old datafiles on the 3GS, I can upload in onto the ranking site and I'm pretty sure I'll still be in TOP30 :) From what I remember it would be #26 as of now, I reckon ; ) http://asphalt-5.com/ -> I'll let you know when I'll upload it : )

Then came Berlin 2010 and luckily I managed to get signed on, and as a result (but not without a lot of nerves) I won the SEC (Samsung Euro Championship) there. I couldn't get to Los Angeles final that year, but the next year proved to be better with A6 around. If it wasn't for the game's bugs (and the judges not knowing the bugs), I could've won the Grand Final in Busan (at least be in TOP2 instead of TOP3).

And ironically, when the best of the series yet in the name of A7 came, merging the best of A5 and A6 (from A6: good tracks, the sense of speed and enhanced configuration, from A5: colourfulness and the outstanding arcade handling of the cars), adding a bit of its own and FIXING most of the old bugs (the multiplayer code still proves to be unstable..)... then the WCG resigned (at least in this year) from mobile games. What a pity.

Some pro players think that there will be no change in next year, considering it's still Kunshan, CHINA in 2013. I'm among them, because the Chinese are not so good in this title as in others (look at the WCG site and you'll understand what I mean). There are also marketing/promoting and money issues concerned. All in all, that's my story.
It was a nice ride, but kicking ass in multiplayer sometime still is enjoyable...

    See you on the servers!

    What added effects??
It simply runs smooth and lag free.
The same applies to the other threads that you've asked the same question.
    Except NOVA 3.

  11. Well, most games I don't really have a problem with, especially asphalt 7 on my new ipad. But Nova 3, yeah, it lags too much on my new ipad for me, guess I will ask you on that thread though. Thanks for answering, weird that when I ask, no one seems to answer, there just must not be a lot of ipad 4 out there.

Do you read the ipad 4 and ipad mini thread in the ipad forum? Could use your feedback there.

  12. Asphalt 7 update is out with ipad 4 optimizations, any impressions?

    Game Impressions

I compared directly iPad 3 and iPad 4 (both iOS 6.0.1, latest update of A7) for some minutes: Graphics on iPad 4 are more detailled, sharper and higher resolution. Smoother pixel scales. Pretty perfect now. You can see that even on static screenshots. Controls (tilt) seem to be absolutely the same.

The "Blue Adrenaline" mode is a bit different on iPad 4 as well (less shaky).

  16. Cool, thanks!

    NOW FREE
    FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Get that, folks. My personal opinion: Best game in town, nothing less and nothing more. And I tested 8,000 iOS games. No joke: Bought an iPad 4 (my fourth iPad) for A7 alone. Every iOS user should have Asphalt 7. Take the chance. Spread the word!

It was an incredible deal for the huge price it already was -- $.99! Best casual racer on the iOS IMO.

So... not iPad 3? That kinda kills the "best graphics" statement 'cause this sure ain't full retina.

Compaing this to console games is kinda funny. It's on the right track, but when you look at the best sim and arcade racers available on consoles they're still lightyears apart. This game practically feels on rails in comparison. I'm enjoying it though, which is what counts.
