Is anyone witnessing a bug when you finish a race and the narrators voice gets cut off abruptly leading to the tally up screen? Not sure if its me leaving my thumb on the screen that is being registered or not, but it keeps catching me unaware.

I don't know of that bug, if thats what it is, but then again every time I finish a race, I immediately "press to continue" so it cuts her off straight away anyway and goes direct to summary page.

Played a track or two on Asphalt 6 and then switched to Asphalt 7. The jump in graphics is actually quite significant.

And for what it's worth: when you blast down the track with a million miles per hour you really don't pay attention anymore to the fact that it's not running in Retina resolution.
Those on the fence with the iPad 3: seriously. Buy it.
Personally I don't see a magical Retina patch happen, unless they kill some detail and/or effects.

I hope they enable retina graphics on ipad 3 cuz the screens look gorgeous but the actual game on ipad3 is... Kinda meh. Asphalt 6 looks 10000x better!!

Sharper, but definitely not better. Have you actually switched between the games first hand like I did?
There is a lot more track detail, the tracks are wider and the cars themselves are also a lot more detailed versus Asphalt 6.

I guess looks better on the 4S than Asphalt Injection, right? (probably one of the worst looking Vita games right now)

Honestly, real racing 2 looks better than a7. And I'm playing on the iPad 3. I'm quite surprised knowing gameloft's reputation for snazzy eye candy — no antialiasing, poor reflections/shaders, and mediocre physics. And rr2 is full 2038x1536, while A7 looks worse and runs at a lower resolution. Is this gameloft's in house engine? Maybe it just isn't suited well for arcade racers.

I think it's because you need space enough for both the installer AND for the full game. The install files are deleted after install.

I'm not sure but that's how I think it works..

How much space do you think I'll need? I don't want to delete too much unnecessary stuff.

I think the ratio is double the file size to download.

I give up, I have scrounged for space and gotten about 2.3GB free out of my 6.4 and it still will not download. I'll basically have to delete my whole ipod to get this game >.>

Do a hard reset (hold home and power untill the apple logo shows up) and try again.

Installed size is 1.41gb so it shouldnt need that much space

No problem, glad i could help :D

  17. I haven't really seen it mentioned here, but one of the main differences from a6 to a7 is how the ground is rendered. A6 has dirt that looks like small pieces of gravel, a7 looks more glossy and like of like an ice skating rink, it is very shiny and ice like. This is on my new ipad, so not sure if it is as much of a difference on an iphone, but for framerate purposes, I think a7 surface rendering is much faster.

The look is really different, a6 with the dirt surface looks realistic, but I think the framerate suffers. A7 doesn't look as realistic with this ice rink look, but it makes it look more like an arcade game, and I get more of a sense of speed.

So this is the number one difference between the two games for me. The second big one is the camera view. A6 has 3 views, big car, small car, and no car.

A7 has 4 views including a hood view, and this is the only one I like to play, the framerate is great and I like being able to see everything, it plays so much better than the no car mode since its angle of view is a little higher.

Third, a7 has asphault tracker which is like icloud.

These 3 things for me make a huge difference between the two games.

    It's not a bug...
You just press the screen too soon after passing the last lap. There is no skip-protect, so you can actually incidentally skip it.

    -

As for the Vita graphics, Injection looks better than on the screenshot, I say. Just comparing my memories of the demo a friend had.

    -

    As for further impressions:

    The Good:
    • Multiplayer has a time limit imposed on start of every race. That means people can't block rooms forever :)
    • The network code seems to be at least a bit better. At least for the connection/stability of the rooms part. More onto this later...
    • Drifting actually does work better. Sometimes it seems very sensible, on contrary to what role it played in A6. I might change my methods later tho ; )
    • 7 Tiers of cars actually do play a GOOD role, too. In Multi, it's faster to choose cars, since you're only limited to a specific tier. Good or bad, but still most tier have better and worse cars, so some handicap can be given/taken.
    • There are other minor improvements to multi, but I just licked it, so can't really put it down. More on that LATER.
    • I'm starting to really like the music. Well, it's like getting used to it... ; ) As for the "chicken" sound, it happens sometimes when you closely pass a car (that is riding in your direction). Bit strange.. but solved at least.
    • More things incoming.

    The Bad:
    • The nitro buttons are fixed in-place. I told you that already - but they don't always work 100% sure, especially they are not shown BEFORE that race start. A big minus for me.
    • As it wasn't bad enough that button are not movable - the brake buttons are AWFULLY small. I might say this now OFFICIALLY - iPhone 3,5" screen in this case is SO SMALL that IT SUCKS, if the company hasn't thought of a REALLY user-friendly user interface. In this case, not in every aspect.
    • (It's not an actual fault of the game, and it's the continue of ranting above, but having 3,5" means your fingers can block quite a portion of the screen. Not very handy)
    • The game is NOT THAT OPTIMIZED as I thought. It's quite similiar (worse? will tell when I'll reach and max-upgrade Veyron and push it on a GOOD roll) to A6, maybe even worse. The steering (not that I can do much with its settings) is the same in most cases - too weak. It's not a fault of the game alone, it's the fault of the game/hardware combination. SGS2 runs, displays and steers A6 MUCH. F*CKING. BETTER. than iP4 - which is quite pathetic in the last upgrade. Note: the last upgrade to Android is pathetic, too ; ) Best is 1.0.8...
Anyway, I'm pretty sure 4S handles the game better, maybe even "much" (hard to tell) better. Will check on that, though I don't own and don't plan to own it. iOS is OK as a secondary platform, but it's shitty and I puke on it even thinking it would be a primary platform, with all it's limitations, iTunes and BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH... where is the bucket. I'm honest with you, you may disagree, but let's not discuss it, everybody has their point of view and I respect it.
    • The placings in multiplayer seems to have HUGE problems. I'm first... but then I arrive fourth. I'm first all the map... then I'm suddenly second for half a lap (more than one shortcut, that DID come to my mind, it's not that). I pass the start to the last lap - I'm first again. Defly a problem.
    • More bugs than I can't remember.
    • More to come, SURELY...

Will edit this or post a new one later. Sit tight, just don't hold your breath ; )

You'll need 1.4gb for the game and 1.1 for the compressed installation and then a bit more for the cache. So basic about 2.8 gb fre should do it. The installation file, 1.1gb, will be deleted after install.

Or just install direct from iTunes on a computer. That way you don't have both install files and the file itself taking up space on the device.

Edit. Just noticed BruteOutlawz helped you out so sorry about the double post.

Planet, you changed your mind on the drifting on a7, that's cool, when I first posted I thought it was better it seemed like the car didnt slide as much as it did in a6 and was more controllable.

But then after you posted that you didnt think there was any difererence, I started to wonder if it was just because the framerate was better.

But now that you have changed your viewpoint on drifting, that is cool, so I don't feel like I was imagining anything.

[*]I like your bullets, lets see if this works...
    • edit lets try again
eheh.... Forget it... Oh my god it worked this time!
