The drifting seems much more responsive and controllable vs a6, the car doesnt seem as jerky. So those are reasons A7 feels more like an arcade game whereas a6 felt more like a stiff computer game.. But I like the new sounds much better than a6, and the cash now looks like really money bundles not dollar signs. To me that helps alot since it doesnt look as cheesy , and now when you run through the money it makes an awesome new sound which is cool. Also the music in a7 is now more techno ish. So if you like techno you will like it. For some older folk, they probably would like the more traditional music in a6 better. But the games play a little different, I play a6 on regular view and a7 on bumper view so seems like two completely different games and that is how I justify keeping both of the games on my new ipad. But if I had to choose one, I would choose A7, and yes, gameloft is good about updates so I'm sure it will be getting even better soon!!!
OK! SORRY FOR MY OPINION! I'M NOT TRYING TO FIGHT! I LIKE ASPHALT SINCE IT CAME FROM JAVA! I DON'T KNOW WHY THE QUALITY IS NOT THE SAME AFTER ASPHALT 5. THAT'S MY OPINION! IN SMALL DETAILS LIKE A NEW NITRO NOISE OR NITRO COLOR, EVEN COMPLEX DETAILS LIKE UPHILLS. GAMELOFT HAS NO MORE PASSION FOR ASPHALT. SO... IN OCTOBER WE TALK AGAIN ABOUT NFS... IT WILL CRUSH ASPHALT AND TAKE THE RACE GAMES TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL! WAIT AND SEE! JACOB! DON'T YOU WANT TO COMPARE ASPHALT WITH NFS... SO COMPARE WITH IGNITE! IGNITE WILL BLOWWWWWW ASPHALT 15. http://youtu.be/3WrLEephRbI
Woo hoo. Just completed an event in series six and got enough stars to unlock Lamborghini Aventador. Bought it plus had enough money left over to buy Mclaren after got my next star. Definitely no grinding in this game. Really enjoying it. JCman is kicking my ass in the stats and lap times though.
Not trying to start a fight here now either, every opinion is valid in it's own way, but that video of Ignite is the Gamescon 2010 pc trailer. It won't look like that on ios. Touchgen has some screens of it running on an iPad 2 and it does indeed look very good so it will definitely be an instabuy as well. But again, you're looking at maybe September before its out and it's a tad unfair to compare a pc trailer for a game to Asphalt 7.
That got a good laugh out of me actually. Probably because I am one of the older folk I suppose, seems as I was at raves when techno first hit the scene years and years ago. Still though, made me laugh because as Homer Simpson would say, it's funny because it's true.
After a major thunderstorm (with literally wall of rain, huge thunders and thunderclaps and etc.) my radio net decided to go down for a long while, in the middle of the night. So I couldn't get back fast here. The whole story is for iPhone 4 32 GB, mind you: I started downloading the game when it was still online, it took quite a long time, but it was only the beginning, because the install itself took much longer than the downloading... I can't really tell how much space does it take, since I've deleted two Monkey Island demos (have some old stuff lying around, but I like it (I mean the oldskool, not the fact it's old ; ) ) to free the necessary space - in the middle of the install. In the meantime, the net started going down and up (until it finally went down) and it seems like it was still needed (even if the game was "downloading"), cos when I impatiently went to AppStore, pressed the "Install" button, the game told me I still need my internet, and I did disable WiFi before it. Clap clap iOS. That way I was stuck without the game installed, and the whole time for downloading was quite wasted. And oh, I did mention I couldn't download it by normal connection. Got pissed, so I took the microSIM into an adapter, put it in good trusty Samsung Galaxy S2, and used a tethered hotspot.. using that I downloaded the whole game AGAIN, and waited a long time for it to install... which it quite didn't, whined about available space on the device (I checked and it was supposedly ZERO bytes free, even tho I managed to take two screenshots). When I though I'm gonna go through the whole process again, ... the game apparently did install itself. BRAVO. : P SO OK... make sure you have a lot of free space (3-4 GB? Just to be sure the whole unpacking goes well..) and a lot of patience for installing the game. --- My first impressions (RANDOM ORDER): The Good: *) The game runs smoother on iP4 then A6 with the last update (and the previous one before that) did run. (apart from the Shop view and, strangely, the Goal screen, which should be OK, since it's "pure 2D" (?) ). So, all in all, the game SEEMS TO BE MORE OPTIMIZED. Thumb up Gameloft. I'm gonna have to wait a bit for S3 version to be (probably) the best & most fluid experience. *) The cars seem to have a bit better handling. Not like in A5, but still at least a bit better than in A6. *) The inferface is clear and works well. *) The whiny bitch is talking less, no need to turn off her now. *) The graphic is, obviously, better. But it's more candy-like ... more than in the case of A6. It sure gets some time to getting used to. *) The profile is backed up online once you connect to the Multiplayer through Gameloft Live. *) The music is not bad, frankly after the first negative shock it seems it's better than I thought. Even some dubstep included ; ) *) As for exchanging in-game "money" to in-game "stars", there is an option to buy a Goal buy paying in-game money for it. One goal = 1 star, and the starting ones cost 30k in-game cash, but after a while it's more, like 120k. It's an option I'm not using, but still if someone has abundance of cash and some goal seems to be impossible.. here's the solution. *) A total of 50 achievements - same will take very long time. At least THIS time Gameloft has made something that wouldn't be completed in two days ; ) *) The choice of cars is quite good (apart from no Koenigsegg Agera R 2012, which _IS_ the fastest car in the world, and very, veeery beautiful, clearly more than Veyron, which is horrible). Stickers (decals) can be sorted after not only the tier, but also the brand, so... It's an easy way to count the cars: so, there is ONE of: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, (believe it or not) Alutec , Bentley, Bugatti, DeLorean, Land Rover, Mini, McLaren, Pagani, Shelby and Telsa. As for TWO cars in the garage, there are: Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and RUF. THIRD's time the charm for.. well, no one really But there are: FOUR Audis & Dodges, FIVE Aston Martins, SIX Lamborghinis, SEVEN BMWs and a whopping TEN Ferraris. That makes it 60 total. *) Multiplayer seems to work a lil' better now, is more varied (apart from Normal Mode there is also a Lap Attack mode, King of the Hill and Elimination. In some cases (mainly the last ones) the spawn of the player determines A LOT in the race. *) The news tracks are quite fine (Rio from Fast5, as someone mentioned), though only Paris is quite difficult (at least speaking of the very first race ; ) *) There are two nitro buttons. Check out the con below, and you'll not be happy at all... *) There SEEMS, I repeat, _SEEMS_ to be less bugs. Not there are none, but it looks better than in the case of A6, where intensive playing would bring - LITERALLY - "new bug every day". And I'm NOT joking if you think I am... *) The network code seems to be at least a bit better. Titanic work incoming to test it out better, tho... *) The multi leaderboards seem to have only times/tiers. No XP. Interesting.. but I think it's good. *) The Academy has an option to fast-restart the race. *) The difficulty of the single player seems reeeally easy at the start (even 8 stars per race...), then it gradually grows. Nothing too hard tho, but as for the 5th cup on London: used the slowest (!) car I could use (Nissan GT-R), without ANY upgrades, did crash TWO times (totally my bad ), didn't race too good at the 2nd lap, and still managed to have 5 seconds left on the clock. And as I've got a talent for repeating simple mistakes, I made that TWO crash (though in different places..) mistake a few times.. until a no-crash race = 20,51 before the clock = DONE ; ) *) The SFX are OK. *) In eg London the fireworks over the area also mirror on the car paint. In other words, good graphic effects. *) Very good thing (although quite unrealistic in most cases, excluding night tracks, maybe) is the non-blinding, but VERY strong xenon lights on traffic cars. Easy to spot, easy to avoid and not to crash (except maybe around corners). BOTH good AND bad: *) The renewed tracks were actually taken from Injection part. Someone did mention that above. *) The sponsors can be turned on in multiplayer. Still don't know if they are random. If so, it's BAD. Glad it's optional though. *) Eliminations are harder now. Although 4th nitro level works still the same. You judge if it's bad or good. The Bad: *) The game seems to lag from time to time - and one can see that from the very start of the race. If it doesn't clear after a few seconds (less than ten for sure), it's a rare chance it will change. One has to restart the game to make sure it's running smooth again, rather no chance *) I had one occasional crash when awarded a star for completing a goal. Tho after restarting the goal was clear (a new one was introduced) and I did earn the star. *) There are already cheaters in Multiplayer. Check out Asphalt Academy records... (0:00:000 times ...) *) One track that is supposed to be old is actually new. Bad for me : / *) Buttons, though there are 4 of them (2 x nitro, 2 x brake) ARE NOT MOVABLE! A big step backward. *) Third level of nitro works a lot different now, first and second has some small differences too. I'll leave it up to you, it only matters to "pros", but it still is very f*cking important. Mainly the 3rd one is affected : / It's the MARKETING, since people was overusing 3rd level and not using the F*CKIN TITLE "ADRENALINE" enough. Damn you gameloft. *) Same goes for exiting drift - it's not as easy as it should be. Yeah, again, STUPID MARKETING. "Let's force players to use more drift... OK!".. no comments. *) The "tier" construction is very dumb. There is no real waiting for the fast cars, since from the very beginning one has already one car unlocked from each tier. That means that quite a fast car from tier 7 is already available. *) As the above con wasn't enough, one can RENT cars, further ruining the game. Thanks gameloft for destroying any anticipation for better cars : * ; / *) There is a "Tutorial" option, but it doesn't work. Something is clearly broken here. *) There is no shadow bug on my iP4, but as you know there is one like this. Also no Retina for iPad3, yet. (not affecting me, but still mentioning it at the end). The Interesting: *) The first Asphalt Academy data come from the time of ... 14.05-20.05. WTF? Developers? Testers? It should be cleared out...
Well, for me, it's never that I can't afford it. The money's not even an issue! I'm a grown man and fortunately I can buy whatever I want whenever I want. The reason I personally sat on the fence for a while with this one was that I really like A6! I had to be convinced that this is better than that was, and since guys here (since this is what this forum is for), who've already played it, conveyed that it is, at this point, I went ahead and deleted the older one, since I couldn't keep 'em both on account of my constant space limitation issue. I would love to have an ipod touch with at least 128GB on it, since I'm such an animal in terms of my gaming and entertainment habit. I do, however, see your point, and agree that Gameloft has shafted fans with their IAP model for a while now, which I HATE in general! Will be happy to get some free time to play this one in the next day or so, 'cause I've been so darned busy.
It's my job to amuse. Haha I guess I'm midrange, both the music in A6&7 is fine with me. I wonder if we can play ipod music with full sound effects, never tried before because Gamelofts music is pretty good. Edit: planet, what a long post! It actually makes my posts look so small! Wow!
Played for two hours on iPad 3 in career mode and A7 drained the battery from 100% to 86% only. That's good. Personally, I like the music. Love the new tracks Paris, London (pretty hard), Miami (not so hard). I am in the midst of cup 6. Comprehensive statistics (about 50) in Asphalt Tracker/Profile. Really? Played already six hours? Here I needed for the first time in career more than one attempt for getting all three stars (cup 5, race 18, more than 20 sec under par needed), a really crazy track:
To answer some questions: No custom soundtracks. You have to mute music and play it outside that game to work, PROBABLY. Controls - I'm only using type D, everything else is just not precise. As I wrote above.. kind of better. A bit. But when I get to Veyron I shall tell you again. Could be as well a whole different story. NFS will still not be considered a REALLY good game by me if it doesn't have touch controls. Simple as 'at. IGN are stupid stating there is an emphasis on IAPs, everybody gets that impression first, and then... ; ). The only exception I can think of is that LATE in the game goals stop to appear, and at some point the maximum cap of stars is below the needed one. But I _HIGHLY_ doubt it. Yes, there are shadows underneath cars. The graphics is improved quite a nice bit - on iP4. Drifting is ... quite the same, speaking of control - maybe a tiny bit better, but one can say the same about steering in general. BTW, with faster cars it may depend much on the hardware used, so iP4S could be much better. Still dunno. Uplifting narrator? PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD The music went from rock in A5, to well, dance or techno in A7. Nothing really bad about this, some tracks build the tension and up the focus quite nice. Far view is the only sensible. Trust me on that, same goes with "D" steering The only strange sound effect played happens sometimes when you pass a car on the other side of the road. Seems like chicken or something.. Or maybe I misheard that.. Hi-Tech is right (apart from the stuck CAPS ). Gameloft makes Asphalt as a totally commercial product. Not only from the 5th part, though But I'm ok with that, got used to it But he's also VERY naive that NFS will crush anything. It's an even bigger commercially made, marketing product. Don't be naive dear children Sorry for the abundance of smileys, I was in the mood ; ) If you have any more questions - ask away, I'll answer ASAP ; )
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the statistics in Asphalt Tracker. Expanded to say the least BTW, Habakuk, London is not that hard. And I would still kick your ass there ; ) Granted, you have a better time, but what car&upgrades&sponsors did you use? : D In my case (as written above) - lowest possible car (Nissan GT-R), no upgrades, sponsor = more REPs gained - so not affecting the race itself. As we say in Poland, pozdro poćwicz Paris, on the other hand, IS a hard track. (though played it just once ; )
Now those two posts are what you call some real comprehensive information sharing, I like it. Nice one. Just in relation to the ign thing. I think they just thought initially, like some of us, that the iap would be necessary to progress and were pleasantly surprised when they saw it wasn't.
Cracks me up the way PLANET uses those emoticon things like that! Actually gives the text more feeling to whatever point he's trying to make! Heh-Heh!
Dang planet, good job and yeah, I got one question for you: How the heck did you get bullets in your post? Cut and paste from microsoft word? Or can we do it from our iphones or ipads?
Asphalt 8: Obliteration In this epic new installment of the Asphalt series, all we did was take 7, fixed bugs, and slightly fixed other things and slapped an 8 on it to call it 'Asphalt 8: Obliteration'. We've added one new map, which is secretly a map from Asphalt 4 with better graphics and some shortcuts. We even flooded the game to IAPs and pop-ups to share things to your friends so we can certainly piss off players. We've even added some frustrating crashes to top it all off, and even some shadows don't appear under cars! To show our appreciation to users with the iPad 3, we've claimed to put retina but really it's jagged and blurry. In Asphalt 8, its nothing new but another .99 scheme to get your money! Good 'ole Gameloft. I can see it now.
