Thanks for the list, some great cars on there. I'll be playing this more later to unlock some of those.
I miss the old narrator. Races don't feel as "official" without her voice in the background. I did a quick race, it didn't have the same feel as A6, but I'll be keeping 7. The race felt choppy and unstable at first, but after about half a lap it smoothed out. The music is decent, I wish GL would find something louder and better to really capture the intensity of the game. Multiplayer seems faster than 6. I also forgot to mention- theres no garage. I don't know about you, but I liked walking around in my garage and staring at my beautiful cars. Overall, Asphalt 7 is a better buy than 6 with revamped graphics and sensitivity, but I feel as if it's missing some key features that were in 6. Hopefully this game gets updated with content, even though I'm not near finished
What do you guys mean by grinding? I'm guessing (in terms of the IAPs) you can play the game to completion without then necessity of having to purchase stars etc unless you get completely stuck and unable to proceed?
I think they mean go through the earlier races a few times to get loads of coins rather than go from track a to track b. Do track a a few times to get more coins as its easy (i presume)
My question that's holding me back from getting this (and be honest, not just happy it's new and all) is "What is better? This or Real Racing II?".
Totally different games... Is like to say if it is better FIFA12 or Flick Soccer. This one is an awesome arcade racer and RR2 is a sim racer. Different physics, different driving style, different gameplay. Both are the the best in their kind!
Real racing 2 is the best racing simulator game. Asphalt 7 is the best arcade action racing game. I have both and would consider them the best of their type in the app store. RR2 is far more realistic and competitive. Drifts, bumping and crashing will ruin your lap as in real life. Asphalt 7 wants you to drift, crash and bump stuff off the road to have destructive fun. None is better than the other, you have to have both. I couldn't chose one over the other myself but if you want realism, get RR 2. If you want arcade action get Asphalt 7.
Well the grinding means you have to play a lot, and I mean a lot, to progress on to new equipment. A grinding game rewards you bonuses and equipment very slowly in order to force you into buying iap. This doesn't apply to Asphalt 7 though. It's very easy to get new cars, stars and dash in game so the iap is not forced on you, it's very optional.
I've got both and i think this is much better. Had a long go of it this lunchtime, a lot of variety, tons of cars. Seem to be getting a fair few coins. Really enjoying it, graphics are great, top game by Gameloft i must admit
The hesitancy was the fear that they had turned it into something like gt racing +, which is a real grind fest. The cheap price rather than the 6.99 expected price, added to the fear of overpowering iap and a freemium type of set up. Luckily enough those fears were wrong and it's a game if happily pay the regular premium app price for. Just surprised because this turned out to be a win win scenario.
Does the game lag? It hasn't lagged for me, I was just curious. I'm really wanting to know if it lags on the iPod Touch 4.
Come on, its only a dollar ! Said previously i've been playing on my ipod 4 touch and it seems fine, had a slight jitter at the start of a race but the others i've played its been fine. Well worth the tiny dollar, going live a little, spend it !
I've only played the first race and was also wondering: Does it have the 'Under Pressure' mode? That was one of my favorites.
Ok, this is directed at you Habakuk (no pressure ), but other than the local multiplayer that you obviously are very excited about, is this game really that much better than Asphalt 6? I ask because I know how huge of an Asphalt 6 fan you were and, frankly, I'd have to get rid of some of my favorite games for this (Sky Gamblers, Shadowgun, Crazy Hedgy and more -- yes a few I could redownload and lose my progress). Deleting Asphalt 6 is out of the question and has had a permanent spot on my iPod Touch 2G. But, obviously, this will only run on my 3GS. So the $100 question....is it worth extremely painful game deletions to have this over A6?
