Well, I've taken the plunge on it based on all the positive things people are saying in here. I'm really not expecting it to be as great (for me) as RR2, but if it is indeed the best arcade street racer then that'll be more than enough.
Try not to compare to RR2 (I think highly of it too) they are like apples and oranges. Just have fun! (Haha.. It feels like I'm explaining to someone about drugs, I suppose there are parallels...C'mon were all addicted here!...to games )
I've spent $60 + That means you must be missing out on some amazing stuff you poor soul. ...So look again bro'
Money aren't the only problem you need free space on your iPhone too. Btw. I dont think Asphalt 6 is worth the extra money i you own Asphalt 5. It's all the same. It's not the big Improvement like from A4 to A5. I won't buy the game. It would be only waste of space on my iPhone, especially after the disappointing Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, which contains only one small part from Asphalt 5: to eliminate cars in A5 this is boring enough.
The game really needs a minimap below the lap indicator, it'd help a lot. Oh and the bonus challenges can be quite annoying, especially the drifting ones. Drifting doesn't seem to be as fun as in A5 as it slows you down by a bit now and can cause you to smash into a wall.
Controls mode C: Touchscreen steering wheel; mode D: Symbols (touch steering left/right half of the screen). Just tried: They work well and precise, sensitivity settings possible for each of the modes as well as "personalizing". You can change control method during race (pause/resume).
Is there a time attack mode? Would I be able to compare track times with players on gamecenter and/or gameloft live?
Game Impressions Interesting how many people on the forums have been exposed as pirates lately. (Not implicating anyone in this thread, just saying.) Well I only played through Cape Town, but I can see where the main improvement is in this edition of Asphalt already: the take downs. They look better (not as good as Burnout: Legends, but much better than Asphalt 5) and are a lot easier and more fun to pull off. And honestly, with 40% (I think?) of the racing being entirely focused on take downs it makes all the difference. Some other smalls tweaks have been made, for better (slightly improved graphics) or worse (no mini-map), mostly for the better...but the takedown events are fun...damn fun...and the multi-player is relatively well-realized. The "adrenaline" mode is pretty cool, especially (again) in the takedown modes, where you feel like you're tracking opponents, diving at them like a missile. This could not be any more different from Real Racing 2 and still be a racing game...which is a good thing, because having each on my device means I get the best of both worlds.
I like the new game modes a lot. I forgot what it's called but there's a game mode where all the other cars target you and try to make you crash. You have to survive for a certain amount of time. It's crazy, very fun and I've never played a game mode like it before.
Yeah, thats my favourite mode as well, loving the game so far. The only thing I could really do without is the girl "announcer", Gameloft really sucks when it comes to voices in games... But thats just being picky, great racing game!
What other game modes are there? I'm wondering if this is worth downloading. Previous Asphalt racers haven't been my cup of tea. :/
In Multiplayer online you have an "Asphalt Academy" and there is a weekly contest and a "List of the Best" where your track times are recorded. You can switch her off separately in sound options menu.
