no sale yet. I play kard combat, I tried shadow era and found them both meh. still play kard combat but ascension is entirely different. a lot of the game is just luck but not in a bad way. it's a very fun and polished game. I strongly recommend it
I was about to post a comment on that but my itchy fingers got too happy and overclicked the result screen and I forgot who I had the game with.. thankfully you post it here. Thank you for that, it was a very very nice game indeed. I was sweating all over the place looking at your mechana engines (7 or 8 was it?) but luckily I managed to edge out just a teeny bit for the win... shocking!
so banishing the militia/apprentices with cards that have bonus via banishing.... I've noticed that these 2 cards have no stars, so i usually banished them asap so i'd have less useless cards and the ones i really needed would actually pop up more. Imma keep playing some more against the AI till i can actually beat it 10 times in a row on normal difficulty... on easy i can beat it no problem... problem is, it's on easy so i don't need to think on how to play ._. I really want to play this online and all, but since this is my first deck building game, my last TGC was Duel Masters and b4 that Pokemon.... I'm very rusty on card games.... Any type of help is greatly appreciated... so, Thank you very much this is actually the 4th time I've asked for help/tips in here, and this is the first reply
Drexiel, sorry if I didn't notice your earlier posts. If you're talking about strategy, the most fundamental ones are getting rid of your initial pool of card whereby they only fetch you measly 1 point each and quickly obtain other cards on the front row. I see that you've already grasped it so it should be working better from there onwards. As for truly learning, I would say playing with either the PC (level 2 difficulty) or playing with the friendly players here on the forum. That is if you don't mind taking some form of potential beating from the more experienced players (Celeric and Camzee, I'm looking at you both in particular ) which might leave some marks on your online profile. Other than that, it's a good practicing area. I looked up Google for a few articles and sites which might interests you? Board game geek, scroll down and look for strategy section:- http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/69789/ascension-chronicle-of-the-godslayer Ascension's own forum:- http://ascensiongame.com/board/forum?f=4 Some random article :- http://board-card-games.yoexpert.com/board-card-games-general/what-are-the-best-ascension-strategies-2240.html hope that helps! and welcome to the playgroup it's always nice to have new players
thank you so damn very much and no, i don't mind losing... after all that's how people learn... every online game i started in as a newb, i got my ass kicked... from that i learned, retaliated and started kicking ass xD and yeah i play the AI on level 2... i learned a few tricks like focusing on mana gain and using the flute thing to buy 3 stars every turn, for 4 mana, and just concentrating on getting more mana providing cards... of course this helped me against the AI, dunno about other players... and I've still yet to play the expansion so im still a newbie .-. I'm really looking forward to getting better at this game and finally after 6 months, establishing a game as a means to play online with my ipod.
I did all my learning online I lost a lot but I always had fun and I think I can hold my own just don't take too long establishing a game lol. just jump in.
It is! Almost like playing the real thing. I'm surprised there's no ad-hoc mode for the ipad (iphone/ipod too maybe, but ipad makes more sense since fewer people have ipads). [edit] I'm an idiot - there is ad-hoc mode in offline - I forgot you can change the AI player to another human.
Yeah that's definitely the fastest way. Just play, don't be afraid to try new things, you'll learn real fast once you start losing
I am currently having 2 games in which both I manage to get the 2 Librarians early on. I can now examine how powerful they could be...
One of the best early game cards. Moves a hand extremely fast and gets better and better as the game goes on.
Yes I love the librarian myself, having two is even better. I used to like the Hectic Scribe but I'm starting to avoid that card now...seems to be more useful in mid to late game. The fact that it takes up one spot can hinder you in the early game.
Yeah pretty much much what tbe other people posted, read thru some of the links to gain some knowledge, that's how I got a bit of a jump start. There are distinct phases in the game, some cards are invaluable in the beginning rounds to either trim down your deck or cycle thru cards quicker. Got about 500 games under my belt and it took a lot of getting schooled by the veterans to gain experience
Scribe is actually growing on me. Use with Librarian. You can discard the Scribe with the Librarian late-game!
I would like to see some stats for each individual player. that would be cool I wonder what my record is vs some of the players here
Rating system like ETO would be even better. It is somewhere down the list below online chat... Side note: my love with Hectic Scribes is still very much alive!
