    Short answer: yes

Longish: yes. Get the expansion also. Start learning and beat the orange AI first, then join the multiplayer festival. Prepare to miss a few hours of your Real Life (tm) daily. Don't say you are not warned before.

This game is a must have. Boardgamegeek gives it the 2011 GOTY award ^^

I enjoy this game so much that i've bought the board game +extensions ^^

I really hope we will get promo cards and Storm of Souls expansion soon...

    LOL so true!!! So true!!!

As others have said, the game+exp is the only thing you'll need for a long time.
I can't have ANYTHING done, nor almost playing anything else.
I love EXP-deck only fast games too...much more variations in cards!!!
Can't really wait for the expansion!

In general iPhone game+async multiplayer= gaming nirvana.
And Ascension is imho the top async game on the platform (Carcassonne is probably the sleekest and more complete one...*ingame chat cough cough*....but I'm having more fun with Ascension).

I would like to take the chance to thank everyone who has invited me for a game/rematch lately...sorry...I'm super busy at the moment so I declined all the offers not to stuck you for a week.
As soon as I could properly play as usual, I'll re-invite everybody.

BTW...I usually put 14 days as the timer...you never know what can happen (especially missing the ingame chat and being unable to communicate)...but I found much more enjoyable fast 'both online' games.
Is there any 'code of conduit' for setting up such games?
Like...putting 1 hour as time limit...and be declined if the opponent doesn't have the time to do it (but maybe he has the time to do some turns then continue next day).
If I have time I usually take all my turns in every game I'm in..then I wait a bit in the lobby cycling about all the games to see if someone is 'green' and willing to stay till the end of the game.
Again...ingame or even pre-game chat is a must imho....

I couldn't have agreed more. The person who demonstrated this behavior are none other than camzee and celeric.

I would hit play all if I only have basic unit or just militia... ^^

The only thing that bugged me is the stone circle. When they appeared suddenly. I just didn't notice and played too fast that I pressed end button without dragging it to my top deck.

Another thing was with the motorbike mechana construct which allows u to play other mechana constructs into play directly. Too many time I missed that and just dragged into my deck only to realize the auto pop up tray....

Are these reason legit enough to warrant a message prompt?

Actually this guy I play regularly plays one card at a time. Reason being that he plays just enough to get the card he wants then see what flips up e.g. Arbiter of fate will let you banish that damn militia in your hand if it flips up, something you can't do if you hit play all.

Yeah I'm close to taking that approach as well, but I play hundreds of games, and sometimes you just get a bit impatient... Oh and hi everybody, I'm back!

    Hello all,

Brand spanking new player here. Can you possibly spare me some starting tips? I am assuming you want to banish the +1 cards from your hand (if possible), but beyond that I am at a loss. Do you look for particular cards right off the bat?

I am looking forward to joining the multiplayer fun once I am more competitive. LOL

Thanks in advance for any replies!

This plus the fact that lately I started to feel like I was playing solitary, are why I have quit the game and I have moved on to other games. Still, this has been for me the most addictive game.

So, play you all once again on other games or once a cards pop up!

PS: My apologies for my forfeits, it was the only way to stop!

If anyone likes to play live games, just send me an invite with a short time limit, and if I'm available, I'll play. :)

(I still love my async games, but sometimes it's nice to play a game in one sitting.)

Closing in on 1000 wins! This game is awesome because of async. I love just being able to play a move, live life, come back for 15 minutes, play all my moves, then forget and repeat.

Hey, I just tried launching the game on my new iPad, and I don't have the expansion loaded. It's asking me to purchase it - I already have, so how do I get it working? Do I need to agree to the purchase anyway, and then it'll just add it without charging me? I do have my Gamecenter account logged in.

[edit] Looked at playdek's site, and it does say you can just purchase again and you won't get charged. So I did, and it worked.

Is there some place that it tracks the number of games you have played (or any other stats)?

You can check wins and losses by going to the Profile, which is on the Online Lobby screen. It shows you number of games in progress, your total games played, your overall win-loss record broken down by type of game (2-player, 3-player, 4-player), and your total number of forfeits.

I'm just happy my win ratio is getting closer to losing lol. i have 252 total games and 110 victories.

good games to everyone so far. one of the most enjoyable parts of the game for me is getting a good mechana engine going :)

great game kitkeat, I enjoyed the result a lot!

I'm no pro but I can offer my tips. I generally go for mystics early in the game and always try to get either draw cards ( the green dude who gives you +1 tune + draw a card) and other drawing cards generally. I rarely go for infantry unless there's 3+monsters on the board and if I have a choice between infantry and another car that gives you power I opt for those. I also generally avoid all cards costing 1 rune except for the occasional Arha initiate and mechana initiate.

also a good number of the green cards is good to have since their abilities work with each other really well+snapdragon. (5rune construct). I also like getting constructs but to get those you needy mystics do another reason I go for mystics early on.

yes you want to banish militia and apprentices as fast as possible so cards that banish are good as long as they go with my overall plan. I also personally don't like hectic scribe since I see it as a -1 card. it as camzy has pointed out earlier onthe thread, it had its use.

also, think about which cards you're getting as you approach 20 stars( :b. ). example, you should probably go for a mechana construct rather than something like that card that lets you draw 2 or 3. bc chances are you'll see it very little and it won't give you enough stars towards the end of the game. so, it's important to see where you are in the game to know which cards to get. keep that in mind! don't blankly capture cards just because, if you have a plan it's ok to not pick up some cards sometimes even if you have leftover currency. like if you pick up a hectic scribe just bc you can afford it. you may reveal a 4 tune card thats good that your opponent may not have been able to afford if you did t clear it for him. so think about that too

more importantly look at the board a d play accordingly. if you sees a bunj of monsters, go for power, a lot of tune cards, go for runes.

sorry if this all sounds muddled/confusing. read previous entries I. the thread, they talk a lot of strategies an insight on play styles. this advice is my own and I win and lose. most important thing is to have fun! :)

edit: I tried correcting spelling mistakes. I wrote this really fast on iPhone. I didn't catch them all. bear with me
