I agree, single deck has a much different dynamic now. I wonder if they will add the next expansion any time soon?
Crunc, you monster! I had him until that very last hand, when he unleashed the Avatar of the Fallen/Samael the Fallen combo on me, giving him a 4 (or 5) point win... (for the record, that's 12 honor points right there...) Great Game!
Thought I'd bring this up again with so many new people playing the game. A tournament was created a couple months ago, but we only got 4 people to sign up. If you're interested, go here to sign up! No prizes or anything official (that i know of) - just for fun and bragging rights.
I bumped a bit my Ascension games this week end I had what I would call an Ascension weekend Thanks for everyone who played with me, I had a blast, both winning and loosing. I confess that, as much as I love async, the best games for me are those played in realtime or in a short span of time, it's really nice to have a game in less then 20 minutes (and then even more games...), that way I personally can at least plan a strategy and understand which cards are played...I know you can review the turns in game if you forget but I never do it (not fun). Multiple days games are still awesome...but I just prefer the tension of a fast game. Especially when Samael makes its appearance early in the game (ArtFoundry! I'm looking at you!!! Great game!). Thanks everyone, great game!!! I can't wait for the new expansion and ingame chat...any timeframe on that?
Here is my GC id if you want to play with me ^^ : AshraamCPC (please write in your message that you are an Ascension player ^^) (I prefer playing with CotG+RotF and 3 days clock) Thx in advance
Heh heh, yeah I've been doing that a lot lately - I love getting him - playing monsters just gives you a TON of power - major snowball effect there. And yeah, playing a game all at once is easier, especially when you play multiple games at once. It gets harder to keep track of your strategy when you're waiting half a day for each move. That's one nice thing about playing the physical game - it's pretty much guaranteed you'll finish it in one sitting. I played a pretty exciting one last week actually - a four person game. One guy got Master Dhartha and Avatar of the Fallen while another got a lot of constructs. I myself got Muramasa and a couple other constructs. I really had no idea who was going to win. As it turned out, I tied with the other guy who got constructs, but because I went first, he won. Fun stuff.
Cool, we now have 11! Hopefully the guy who created the tourney is still on here and will be able to start it.
Having iPhone troubles. I won't be able to play moves for a while. If things are bad, I mightn't even be able to finish the rest of the games with you guys. Apologies.
Fellows, those who have sent me invitations, I am sorry but I am still having my hands full for now, please keep patience.
just had a tremendous sync game with Celeric but he managed to inch me out with 3 points of honor. good satisfying game had my teeth grinding when i see the amounts of mechana constructs stacking up one by one from u... nice pull of the last couple of round with the stone tablet by putting it into play directly from having it identified as a mechana construct really gave the necessary edge to grab more honor points...
Ahhhh, cprloe, that last game I totally messed up! One of my turns I misplayed - if I hadn't made my mistake I would have gotten Samael! And then you wouldn't have beaten me by 2 points.
Missing Ascension. iPhone troubles have left me without Ascension for 3 days haha. Don't you just hate it when you misplay, and you count it in your head, darn that's 2 honor lost, and you see the final score... 77-78
Yeah, I noticed that. I got very lucky that game. I hate when I play things out of order by mistake or when I forget to put a construct directly in play when I have Rocket Courier. Or when I forget to play Sadranis AFTER I have already played all of my other power cards. That cost me a game recently when I could have nabbed a Fire Tyrant from the void, but played Sadranis out of order, so I could only pull a Mephit out of the void. I ended up losing by 2. On an unrelated note, Tecwrtr and Strive Mind have been beating me like a drum lately.
yeah, except this time, since I didn't get Samael, he did at the end of the game (so it was like 12 honor - the difference of what I DID get that turn plus the 8 points he got for Samael). Of course, if I had gotten it, who knows how the game would have turned out...
this reminds me of something that bugged me. Perhaps others can chime in. For Sadranic, Dark Emissary, his effect in my opinion should be able to be used at any time. It sucks when you select "Play all" and he's the first to be played and then you have to defeat a monster from the void right away. I think you should have the choice to defeat a monster from the void at ANY time. Kind of like if you play Reactor Monk, the construct you acquire is i Rune less even if you play other cards after it. And also since I'm already ranting. "Tale of Time's Dawn" should read IMO "Banish this Construct from play to take an additional turn after this one." I cant count the number of times i tried to banish this card with with other cards before i realized how to properly use his effect. my 2 cents...
It's working as intended - playing the cards in the correct order is what separates a skilled player over someone who always press the 'plays all'. It's less important for certain cards like dandelion witch because it retroactively awards honor and Serpentcall vs. cards like Runic Lycanthrope, Burrower Mark II, which require playing in the proper order.
Is this game worth getting, pretty ex 4.99 and still gotta include the expansion.. Need some opinions lol
