I hope it comes out soon. It is currently my all time favorite game to play, and i would love to be able to have it accessable to play without having to set up a "play date"
Well said, and there are a couple of reasons to use "Play All" in discretion: 1. There are times that certain cards require you to discard one card from your hand to either Discard or Void. If you press Play All, although the app will stop and ask for your choice but there are times it does not, especially when such cards come in from extra draw. 2. More importantly, you may not want to empty your discard pile to draw extra card(s) for tactical reason. If you use "Play All", you have no control over this.
Don't mind waiting for the server update and then the real expansion to come along. My $$$ is here waiting for you...
Hmm... I'm well familiar with the bgg iOS feed, but I must have missed the dominion item. Can you give me a link that is specific to dominion coming to ios?
1.1 update is OUT!!!! Online profiles, and Return of the fallen expansion IAP Downloading now Edit: the IAP is 2.99 After purchase the title screen changes to Ascension: Return of the Fallen. When creating a game you can play with CotG with 4 players, CotG & RotF with 4 player, or just the new RotF with 2 players. Online is down so don't bother trying to start a game since the app will just hang until the servers are back up
Update is here! Here's that Dominion reference: http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/4910/ios-news-bits-storylines-dominion-race-for-the-g
Update's out, downloaded, installed and rebooted... The description only mentions the expansion. How about the problems which as been plaguing us all along? The expansion costs US$2.99 in case anyone concerns -- I know my wilfie is going to crush me for but I have it bought... The main menu screen also changes after purchase. The little triangle on the top left gone? Notice also that the title screen changes with one studio no longer shown and the multitasking support is still not there...
The app update is now available from the AppStore, but it's going to be a little while before the online server is ready. Unfortunately, we weren't able to preserve games in progress during the update. But we were able to populate profile data from every game completed, so you'll finally get to see your won/loss record (and just how many games you've played!)
Almost done downloading...boy I've been hoping the expansion would drop any day. Can't wait to start playing it! Carcassone expansions shouldn't be to far away either.
So, any more enhancements we are seeing in this update? I hate but I am digging into my fellow list to start new games again.
Anywhere in the app that shows the difference between RotF and CotG? Just curious what's new. Also, I see RotF is supposed to allow 6 players, is this true in the app as well?
I downloaded the update and bought the expansion. Given that the expansion can be played without the original card set, I think 2.99 is a very reasonable price. Is there a good place to go to learn about the cards in the expansion set or will I have to just play some offline games first?
All of the RotF cards can be viewed in the Card Gallery, available through the Menu button on the start screen.
IIRC, RotF is supposed to be played by 2, afaik. (see post above) To see the extra cards, go the the card library. Unfortunately, the rulebook nor the tutorial seems to explain the "fate" thing. I guess you need to play a few offline games to get to know them. Note: still no red level AI...
MP server is up and running. Guys, games are waiting... Now you have a profile for your online game, but I am not quite sure what those number ranges mean. The online games are now timed and it is good sports.
Yeah the card expansion allows 6 players due to all the additional cards but the game is limited to 4 players (both online and offline) The only real addition is the Fate mechanic which is an effect that certain cards activate when they are drawn into the center row. All the cards are new but have abilities you will be familiar with, or use in a new way. Some let you pull cards from the void and one special card lets you use monsters as heros
No, 4 players is still the maximum. There isn't enough space on the screen for 6, and we don't feel enough people would play that way to justify the development cost. The number of 4 player online games is surprisingly low.
Have to learn all the news cards then... One construct is fun cause if you don't do anything during the turn, you get awarded for drawing 2 extra card -- but I am not sure if the effect still holds in case it was banished.
