May be it is a bug with the server. I finished a game with Dilgence and started another one. Every time I get the message that it is my turn, it always show the completion screen of our last game...very strange.
Diligence, if you are reading this, please forfeit the current game and start a new one. Something strange has happened which seems to affect only this game. Thank you.
chat is missed for sure along with multitasking. I wasn't gonna play it until it was added but the game is surprisingly fun once you get the hang of it. it's not direct competition like most card games. instead you're working towards an overall goal like a board game so it's fun. I really like the unique sound for push notifications. that's probably what's impressed me the most since no one had mentioned it. it's not as intrusive as carcassone not as obvious as samurai. it's got it's own and wonderful sound. and regarding the TA review, his criticism of art is unmerited. it's got its own style for sure, and I think it works great.
So, I got the game yesterday. Been playing against the computer for a while. I can beat the green AI about half the time. Is that good eneough to play online.
Well, intercepting your opponent is definitely part of the game and the game provides such mechanism through card banishment, honour points redemption and card "robbery". It is not predominate and apparent. But good use of them is a key to winning.
Sum up of what we want to improve the Ascension Experience(tm): 1. Chat feature! (and in no particular order below) 2. Better multitasking handling 3. Better integration with Game Centre (able to play with players on Game Center) 4. More detailed and accurate push notification 5. Add "Rematch" button for each completed game (for us addicted) 6. Add "Next game" button for online multiplayer (who plays one MP game these days?) 7. Add player statistics 8. More avatars to choose from and remember our choices in single play 9. And yes, give us that gorram Expansion right now! Side note: try to introduce wifie to this (she plays Carcassonne and Words with Friends) but she finds this too complex and gives a pass...bummer!
And what's about the expansion (RotF) ? I have noticed on the Incenerator Studios' website that we should've had this expansion since fall 2011...
One of the devs posting on the bgg forums said they were about to submit it. The post was date right before thanksgiving. So I guess we might see it this week.
I have picked this one up and find it to be a great game. It gives me a nice feel for a CCG game yet at the same time has a very simple ruleset unlike some card games that are out there. I noticed the devs are competitive MTG players, which I think is really nice. This game might be what gets me wanting to get into MTG eventually, but I'm not sure on that yet,as I enjoy the simplicity of Ascension as a CCG,and am not sure how involved MTG might turn out to be. It would be fun to start a Ascension Tournament sometime....
Well, it's still Fall... So I've got a weird issue - I have a game that I've finished, but it keeps showing up in the list of games, and it doesn't even show the final round - it appears as if there are still 12 points left (tho when I tap on it, it does show the final score). Even if I close the app in the app list, no change. Anyone seen this before?
Same here. But after a while the server seems to find my game is "completed" (actually after almost 4 days or so) and after viewing it one last time, the game vanishes.
If the developers are putting out a update with some sort of a expansion then I think that's great. I'd like to see at the same time there be some sort of penalty for people who forfeit 1-2 rounds into the game in online play.
Signed up for your tournament, hobbit - team name (and GC ID) is Delerium, though account name is Artfoundry.
Great thanks,as long as the name you have entered for the tournament matches your GC name, that way opponents can easily find you. If you wouldn't mind spreading the word I'd appreciate that. The more we have the better (Challonge has a max limit of 256 individuals/teams)
