Does this game have some indication of who is last in a game, and thus gets the last turn? This isn't a problem if you play a game in one sitting, but with asynch games it's pretty much impossible to remember who started and who went last. At least I think that's the rule - the player who played last on the first round plays last in the last round. Right? Anyway, I wish it showed who will get the last turn. Hopefully it does and it's just another cryptic bit in the UI.
Yes. I was going to ask but I figured it out. The person who plays last in the first turn also plays last in the last turn. You can find out by the order in which the game lists players. A game which is highlighted as: Camzy crunc is Means you go last. Whereas the opposite is true if it lists: crunc is Camzy
I seem to get inconsistent results if going with the list order in the games list. Sometimes it puts me up top in a game, and then later I'll be in the middle or at the bottom. That would just seem to be a bug, though. In any case, I wish it showed the player order when actually in a game, since that's usually where are when you want to know. I was hoping that it showed it in-game somehow.
Congrats again, hope he's doing well! I've got fond memories of sitting on the couch, feeding my daughter a bottle with one hand and playing Flight Control with the other. How I got away with that, I dunno. Nowadays I can't touch my iPhone without her wanting it or my old iPod Touch... Someday, when we've got the funds for it, she will get an iPad.
Haven't played any deck-building game before but I just bought this mainly because of the async multiplayer.. I'll play the tutorial and a couple of offline games and then I'll see you online
There is a white halo around the avatar of the player who will take the last turn. It isn't very noticeable if you don't know what you're looking for, but it is there.
I see it! Thank you so much much for this info! I love this game and app, but man does it need a manual.
Good games griffin. We had a talk a while back about how getting Druids early game will cause you to lose. The most recent game is case in point. You just can't shuffle your deck fast enough, and you have far too many wasted turns.
I guess the humiliate defeats are mainly due to the fact that you always go first and grab all the good cards -- in chains. Not to mention you are a better player here.
No excuses that game Druids of the Stone Circle. It's costing you big time. Wolf Shaman along with Temple Librarian are the best early cards to get bar none. They shuffle decks fast, and the Shaman in particular gives you access to 6 point cards which swings the entire game right from the outset. Last game, then I'm heading to bed.
Let's say, I have a real bad OC regarding DSC, as a matter of fact that you have a good idea what to have in the next round and it carries 3 honours, my choice after the Templar... Early banishes are not so good for early too, but heck, who needs those wimpy militia anyway! Later then, rest is important to keep one's mind sharp!
Thanks! Great game..even though I lost a couple of online games but I'm just starting! A stats screen/rankings would also be nice additions. And a bug: A player withdraw from a game but I continued playing alone.. Also, I am on iOS 5 and by default the Notifications were switched off and didn't get any notifications..
Picked this up last night, played a couple offline matches and love it so far(as I'm learning everything). Had it on my wishlist to buy until I finished up some other games to make room. Big fan of these type of strategy board games for iOS(top favs being Neuroshima Hex and Shadow Era if they compare in any way?). EDIT: pretty much figured most the mechanics out but any additional info is welcomed? I'm going to get more familiar in offline mode, then hop on online if anyone wants to add me to GC. I'm hooked and see a lot of Ascension play time in the future.
Is it just me or are the push notifications for this game highly undependable. Oh and griffin I am not playing you anymore, it never fails you get all the draw and banish cards right away and all I can get is shit because I have such crappy luck at the beginning of the game it sucks I tell ya it sucks! Sometimes it feels like after the first two rounds I wish there was a I forfeit button.
I think the push notification sucks, but I guess Apple has something to do with it. I know how you feel: I was treated similarly for 3 consecutive games(!) against the same person(!!): see my posts on top of this page and the last. This is the longest game I have (20+ rounds). I figure it may have to do with the fact that we both go for the runes and from time to time, there are always a lot of monster lying around in the central row. Consecutive drawing is very powerful, especially when two or more are present in the same hand. And frankly, you should have taken that "Draw 3 Cards" before I banished it. Nice playing with you. Anyway i guess this is old news: SlideToPlay gives Ascension a 4/4: http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/ascension-chronicle-of-the-godslayer-review I still think this deserves a place in iTunes Stores's "App of the Week".
GC request sent. There are a couple of posts back regarding tips in a few pages back. Hang on... Edit: There you go (if you don't mind): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1843673&postcount=730
Nice playing with you as well btw. The reason I didn't take that card was it was late in the game as in we had 11 honor points left, and it's only worth 3honor points, I figured chances of it comin into my draw pile and being played were slim so I spent my points on cards that had higher honor points trying to catch up in what I knew was a losing battle.
