had another interesting match... went construct crazy with this dude... each of us taking turn to grab as many construct as possible with me grabbing the first 2 construct costing 5 (grants <1> for u to obtain mecha constructs) and he opting to go with mystics... interesting on the end result, i totaled with 11 constructs... but it involve a bit of luck as the dragon that lets u nail all but 1 of your opponent's construct were not present... nice game... nice game... btw, i have yet to defeat Mr. Raven...
I'm definitely not getting notifications on my iPhone. They are turned on, but I never see any. I presume they are going to my iPad and then never going to my iPhone, but I don't know for sure yet. I wish I'd get them on both. Also, with regard to the empty cards list. Am I only supposed to be able to see what is in their discard pile? Maybe that's where the confusion was. I thought since I could see the discard pile I was supposed to be able to see their full deck. Now I see that there is no icon for the full deck, rather the deck unused and their hand. It's kind of weird that I can even see their discard pile, but as a newb I find it useful.
I'm having the same issue Crunc. I rarely ever get notifications for this game... hell the only time I know it is my turn is if my friends make moves in any of our other online games then I just assume it is now my turn in Ascension. Very annoying to say the least and I have no idea why notifications would be working fine for my other games but not this one.
Also, I wish when somebody forfeited that it would put in an AI player, or if the game hasn't started yet, it would put in another player if it was an open slot. I have a game where some guy in a 3 player game, I think from Japan - I think their username is Japanese - forfeited. I didn't realize that until now. I was wondering why they weren't doing anything on their turn. So now I've got a 3 player game with only 2 players playing. And since there's no chat, I can't tell the other player that we should foreit the game and start over as 2 player. I'm fairly sure the other remaining player is on here: VeganTnT. So if you are in this thread... should we forfeit and start over?
I'm getting my notifications maybe 70 to 80 percent of the time. It's definitely not perfect, but it's also not horrible. I'm not in so many games that it's become an issue. Still, you can't help but wonder why it's not working 100 percent of the time ...
Now that would be an elegant solution that many games could benefit from! Just mark the name out in red, mark it as a forfeit/loss for them in GC (if the game starts recording stats - can GC do that? Guess I miss that about OF) and let you finish the game against the AI.
I am having the same issue. All notifications are going to my Ipad, not my Iphone. The problem with that is sometimes my kids "borrow" my Ipad and I don't end up seeing the notification.
Yes. Ticket to Ride does this and it works well there. Obviously you want people to stick around and play their games, but if they do drop out you're either SOL or, in the case of this game, in a weird state where you're playing a 2 (or 3) player game potentially with some cards missing and the wrong number of victory points. Having an AI take over is better then that. EDIT: also, I noticed on amazon.com that the real version of this game has an expansion (at least one, maybe more?) Is there any word on if we'll get the expansion, perhaps as an in-app purchase? Aside from adding more cards to the mix, it also allows up to 6 player games. That might be a bit trick to figure out for the UI, but at the very least it would be nice to have more cards/types in the game.
The game has one expansion, along with a small number of promo cards (no more than five of those, I'm pretty sure). The expansion will likely be released there's simply no reason not to do it. The promo cards could be released as 99-cent IAP or something, but this would be less of a priority.
What frustrates me about this game at times is that I feel detached from the strategy I'm using because im forced to buy cards which don't fit into a truly cohesive concept. I'm guessing most in this thread don't share that frustration. But I wish I knew why I felt differently.
It's a frustration that's shared by most players of the physical game. I've got no clue why no one seems to care about it here, I'm in your camp of confusion. We're not alone.
Massive exaggeration. I'm not sure why your agenda calls for hating on this game. But at least try to argue the facts.
Yeah, why are you "forced" to buy cards you don't want? You can end your turn if there's nothing else (or at all) worth buying. If you buy cards that are of no value to you, then they are just going to be dead weight. It's like having too many victory point cards too early in Dominion - they are just fillers when it comes to your deck. I'm still figuring out the strategy in this game, but so far I'm enjoying it.
Not to split hairs, but this game is nothing like dominion. It's much more like a race for the galaxy or 7 wonders. Dominion pretty much always allows you to use cards which fit into your strategy. This and the others I mentioned tend to lean on luck more, as opposed to math.
