1 the learning curve could be compared to chess where the rules are simple but the strategy is deep. There is a luck element involved but someone who is skilled will win most of the time against some one new to the game. 2 the game is a deck building game, not a ccg or tcg. There is the base game with expansions, I think I spent around $10 for everything. The are no iaps other then the expansions I mentioned.
Can it be? I went to login and was told I need the latest version!? No update visible yet in Appstore but what else can this mean? UPDATE: Version notes added today speak of Darkness Unleashed...so it is already working it's way through the Appstore matrix...wait, now they just show the last update August 7th?
OMG OMG OMG yes it's out check iTunes on your PC or Mac. edit: Downloaded the update but it's not transferring to my iPad. Strange. edit2: Got it transferred. Some screenshots. http://imgur.com/a/DipV8
Jesus Christ that last game, I was one turn away from energizing Herald of Doom! I couldn't believe it when you defeated him AND collected Oziah.
I know that was crazy! Great win I was surprised it ended up being that close thought you destroyed me.
Hey JCMan7, While fun to try out, I just could barely keep up in a 10 min game. If we're ever both on maybe a 30 min game so I could at least read the cards and such. Whoever is up for a game I prefer 28 days with EVERYTHING. Sure you may not get to see much of the new cards that way, but it makes them, in one sense, that much cooler when they do show up. I'm "Lord Gek" in the Playdekverse.
Sorry about that it's usually automatic for me to do a fast game like that so I don't usually think twice about the timer but you are right I should have made it longer. Not sure if you are playing on an iphone or what but I remember on the smaller screen you couldn't read the cards so I forget about that on my ipad. Anytime you notice that just decline and send a new invite.
I recently purchased physical copies both the Darkness Unleashes expansion and the Realms Unravelled stand-alone (primarily because me and a pal of mine play so much Ascension on our iDevices that we've reached the point where we'd like to play around with the mechanics, alter variables, remove some particular cards, etc). And with the new Transformative cards, additional hand culling bestowed by Dark Energy shards, and additional synergetic gameplay introduced in Unravelled (that still strikes a much better balance of desireable synergy and freedom not to synergize than Star Realms), I'd say the game plays better than ever, and that these might just be my favourite expansions. So, good stuff to lunravel and unleash to, both in today's release, and the next expansion! Also, for those of you curious about the next and last expanion, here is some spoilergy: Spoiler Realms Unravelled builds further upon the Transform mechanism. The only concepts truly new are dual-factional heroes (that simply belong to two factions, and that trigger synergy effects for both), and a related Multi-Unite ability. The latter works like Lifebound Unite (offers an additional effect if a hero of the same faction is played during the turn), but always offers a cumulative bonus, and is triggered once for every factional hero played.
I was able to buy the new expansion on my ipad with no issue, and on my android tablet I bought it too but the little padlock remains closed to accessing the expansion. I'll have to send a message to Playdek, I hope they sort it out soon.
Checked their Twitter and here's the post. Apparently it's In San Diego. https://twitter.com/playdek/status/513495750828126208 Edit: server is online!
