Ha Camzy, didn't realize the game you started with me was for the tournament. Haven't looked at this thread in a few days, so thought we were still waiting on the last round 3 game. Anyway, good first game.
Well if you want to start the series with this game, it's fine by me Kidding, good first game. 1-0 to you.
almostrike and I have finished. tecwrtr over hungarike, 2-1: 115-70, 83-83, 81-63 Fantastic games. If you would like, I'd love to continue playing you, almostrike!
Ha ha, nice try. Good games. That last one I really had no idea who was going to win - very close. So that's 2-0, bringing my total to 4-0. Yay! I'm surprised I did that well.
Hey thanks for that currymutton. It sounds overall exactly like the natural transition from everything we've seen with the Ascension Online Kickstarter over the last couple of months. I was always thinking that, as long as SB and Playdek could find an agreement to have te purchases on Playdek's app be credited for SB's new app, the Kickstarter was overall a fantastic news for us and for SB. Im sure Playdek will continue to grow in their own right, they've been incredibly instrumental. They took their business decision and so did SB. Im hoping that Ascension Online will be available on iOS asap and will continue to bug... um... ask SB nicely for that to happen
Hey guys, I think that the winner of the tjxtjx v pjft matchup will complete our 4-person playoffs! After that, we can start the interforum tourney! I just wanted to quickly ask everybody if they are still interested in going ahead with the tournament. It's starting a bit later than we had planned so I hope people havent forgotten about it. Please let me or Artfoundry know what you think. If we've had enough Ascension for awhile, then there is no need to go forward. If people are raring to go, lets do it!
Not transferring purchases. The latest word from Stoneblade in today's announcement is that they will NOT be transferring any purchases from the Playdek app to their new Ascension app. And that the Playdek app will be pulled from the app store when the new one launches and online play will be killed off by the end of that year. This pisses me off. I didn't pony up cash on the Kickstarter to bring the game I love to PC so they could use it to KILL the game I already bought and paid for. Buy it again from Stoneblade/Gary Games? Not happening. I was happy to pay for a new platform to play on the PC, but this is a very ugly way to repay their oldest customers.
I paid full price for ascension and all the expansion packs on iOS (can't remember prices, maybe around £10) but I can't complain here as I've easy had my money's worth out of the ascension game, I've literally played it for months I can't name another app on my iPod/iPad that I've put more time into playing. So if I have to pay again to get yet another year or two worth of play out of the game I'm happy to. The only other game I've bought more than once is wrestling revolution (think I've bought that 3times now the original then the PPV then the HD version) At the end of the day you won't lose your game that you bought, its just like when MMO games shut there servers down, happens to everything eventually.
Clarification: I suggest you read the line more carefully. Suggestion: Take a deep breath, and read: Query: Feeling better now?
Hey, if you KS'ed for $10 or more, you know that you will get the game an expansions for free when it comes out for Android/PC/future iOS, right? If you want to purely stay iOS, you can play Playdek's until July 2014 and then hope that AO comes out for iOS by then (it is a big if though). Playdek's and SB's app will be nearly identical except SB has more features, so why keep around an older version? Also, Playdek could have probably done more to bring the new features for their app that SB will bring instead.
I hope you're right... But Owen at Pockettactics has this to say ---------- When we spoke last month, Gary seemed doubtful that youd be able to transfer your Playdek expansion purchases into the new Stoneblade ecosystem, and the statement seems to affirm this. ---------- It's not a huge deal. It's not a huge amount of money either. But it IS annoying. There are better ways to do business. Playdek is a class act and I feel Stoneblade is shooting themselves in the foot by cutting ties. And we could very well end up with a iThunderstone or Dominion HTML5 always connected crapola app that is not nearly as good as what we have right now. And have already paid for.
Just to clarify, if you pay $10 for something, it's not free anymore. Anyway, not happy about it for two reasons: 1. I seriously doubt this will be as good as the app playdek made. 2. I seriously doubt we will be compensated in any form or fashion for all the expansions we "own". That being said, it is what it is. No amount of whining will change what is going to happen or the new attitude companies have towards customers. It's a good game at its core and ill still purchase the new stuff when it comes out. By that I mean I'll still purchase the new expansion from playdek and will more than likely rebuy everything with a sour taste in my mouth when the Gary games version hits. One note however, I will always buy anything playdek makes because they have earned it. The same cant be said of Gary Games, sorry you made a great card game in ascension but have a thing to learn bout how to make a good app(looking at you soul forge) and how to treat your customers( i.e. thanks for your money we will be closing that game down in 2014 so you can buy it all over again).
+1 I love Playdek and their fantastic quality games, and I have the distinct feeling we're about to get "thunderstoned". P.S. Technical writers are allowed to make up words.
Sorry guys for the holdup, just for the heads up, we're into our second game now with the first game in pjft's favor, if he wins the second one then it would be even faster, trying to keep it going fast right now!
So lame. As stated multiple times, it isn't the money. I've definitely gotten my $14 worth. I just doubt the new version will be as good. Or worse, it will require a Facebook login and 1000 coins to play a match... I'm not sure why Playdek is bothering with a new expansion anymore. I sure won't buy it.
