Also, it's a 1:1 re-creation of the boardgame, and that's how it's done in the boardgame. Personally, I don't think "real-time" scoring would be a good addition. Some potential strategies would be lost, as would an element of mystery. And I think you'd see a huge spike in rage-quitting online.
Pretty much. The best games are when the honor points are close but one person collected more Mecha units and you're unsure who won until the very last second. Showing the honor would take that away. Though its not really a big change either way.
Great duel Camzy! You're already good at this game. i only won by a tiny 2 points which could have been decided by who moves first. Man I really hope the expansion and or promo cards are coming soon. More variety would be nice. Look at this card in the expansion! Sweet!!! http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic1006301_md.png
Yeah good game. That Master Dhartha won you the match. You got him nice and early, and made full use of the extra cards that flooded in every turn. You guys here are good haha. I'm pretty sure I'll win soon enough though. The first few games I could see all the mistakes I made in hindsight, but I'm not making many now at all. A lot of it is now luck of the draw.
Quick tip I've picked up on. Never use the Staff's ability to trade 4 runes for 3 honor .... unless it's the very last turn and there's absolutely nothing on the board that can get you 3 honor (which isn't likely). Getting two heavy infantry instead grants 2 honor at the end of the game and more attack power which will serve you well later on. It's easy to get 3 honor from 4 runes just by getting certain units. If considered that way, the Staff is probably the worst construct. It's no better than the Shadow Star and costs more. Avoid the unit completely if possible.
Yeah in duel mode it sucks how much luck is involved. But this game can also be pretty nasty luck wise. The worst hand you can get is usually Apprentice x4 and 1 Militia, and I've gotten that hand on turn 10 once!
Void helps thin out the junk a bit and maximize your percentages at a better hand. Its part of the strategy involved. If you get that hand you'd have had better hands in the other turns. The biggest luck imo is the cards that flip up on the table for your opponent. That and turn one 5 apprentices first hand then 3 app and 2 militia is lots better then 4/1 and 4/1.
I definitively do not agree. The staff is bpvery useful as long as you avoid the temptation of relying it round after round.
Staff is good when you dont want the extra crap in your deck but generally yes the rune boosters will help you moreso. Snapdragon on the otherhand is a great lifebound construct.
It really depends n howyou play. I rarely take snapdragon, that because it rarely fits my strategy. The staff ... Instead ... When I do not get carried away and if early enough kills the game
One thing to note: the honour pool acts also as the round limiter. So if one side is able to scramble most share of the pool and has a definite lead in-game (10+ points), it is very hard for the rest to play catch up, and acts as an alternate means to deny opponents to employ cards in their hands. And more often than not, it neutralise the effect of owning high value cards. In the simplest sense, it could hold greater advantage by obtaining as much points from the pool in a round as possible, through defeating monsters, playing cards which automatically award honours, etc. This is one way the orange AI does it, and most of the time, it is very effective.
Posting this one more time for anyone that missed it but sign up for the tournament for ultimate bragging rights! (until the next tournament if the first is a success) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=100139
That also depends on the amount of players there are. For a 3-player, 10+ point lead is quite adequate. A 20+ lead normally means either the losing player is not quite sober, a noob, or he/she is forgoing all the power point cards for rune cards. And not every player is a mechna-digger.
guys, newbie here. I have dump the cash on the full version yet but I'm actively monitoring/stalking this tread over the course of the app's lifespan thus far. just curious, how easy or quick is it to find a game via GC? I see people posting their game center id here and there looking for the game, sorry if that sent a wrong impression to me that it's harder to look for a game automatically. else i'm almost set to press the button, having playing against the level 2 CPU gets old pretty fast. i'm assuming there's level 3 CPU as well in the full game? thanks in advance!
Finding or creating a game is just very easy. Multi works flawlessly and (for now) there are games going on almost all the time. Rejoice!
thank you sir, and that reply caused me $4.99 already which i'm more than happy to shell out now... would be adding the forumers for some games later on.. cheers!
