    Thanks tecwrtr. I'll add you.

Currently playing 3 MP games: lisapook (rematch - initial turns already looks ominous), jnt325 (whom I lost the first game 61-71), and now currymutton.

The weakness of my game has been relying on Lifeblood / Enlightened and losing far too much honour through falling behind the power curve in the early game. Also, Monsters banish and discard constructs for the double-whammy. Gives too much board control to the opponent.

I've become a convert to Spike Vixen and Shade of the Black Witch (mixed with card drawers like Temple Librarian). I always find that lack that 1 power to defeat a monster which may help me gain control.

Tried this new strategy against the orange AI, and won comfortably by 15 points. The green AI chooses Druids of the Stone Circle as it's first card; the orange picks Void 1/2 Hero cards with better effects i.e. card draws/ banish. Had to use Shade of the Black Witch to banish my early Arbiter draw! Arbiter is too weak in the middle game.

After these games finish, and when I get more time in December, I'll look into getting one of the expansions - maybe SOS, because it sounds like it adds so much more to the game in its own right, without the need to combine with other sets.

I'm always up for games too.

Seems like I've dwindled down to just 3 regular opponents...so sad.

My standard game is 14 day 2 player CotG (base game for now - until mid-December when I have enough MP games under my belt to buy the SoS expansion).

I prefer 30 minute 2 player games, but unless set up in advance, seems too easy to forfeit. That said, my games with lisapook are real-time at times!

Like everyone else, I've noticed that the lack of in-game chat is a pain in the rear. No opportunity to discuss moves or congratulate opponents, or set-up times to play. GC is pointless in this regard re: no means to actually communicate with anyone on one's friends list.

Note: I'm interested in playing 3 or 4 player in real-time i.e. 30 minute timer, if there are any takers?

One solution for post-game chat is to use iMessage.

Ha, my 5 and a half year old daughter just beat the pants off me in CotG (physical version) - 86 to 68. And I wasn't even trying lose. Only had to help her in her decisions a couple times. She's going to make an excellent Ascension player! I'm so proud :).

Tecwrtr, I think I am having (at least) a game with you here and on SW (Summoner War, ie, RiotGril, and it wins some award this year on iOS), so would you love a 3P game some time?

BTW, RiotGirl, I would really love somebody blogs over this game -- it seems rare despite of its apparent popularity here.

AI uses a too much of snagging honour with Yggdrasil staff (sorry I never get that name right), which usually costs people who uses them in 2P games but can be a killer in 3P games (draws the pool too fast for others to react).

AI also loves to take "that-Life-Bound-card-cost-4-and-draw-a-3-or-less-card-to-your-top-of-hand" too early and "that-Engligtened-card-cost-5-and-give-3-honours-when-kill-a-central-line-monster" at first chance. AI also tends to discard "that-void-card-cost-4-draw-2-and-force-you-to-discard-1". (Sorry, I am at work and cannot open the app for ref). These are some of the mistakes AI makes but does not make it too beatable. One wrong move against the AI still costs you a game. (As one says, this is something many hates to admit) Nonetheless many still waits for the red-level AI, promised long ago, but still yet to come.

Okay, I am sending you one once off work -- I have 5 pages (almost full) of MP in progress. 20+ games to "answer" and 2+ sessions per day. Well, don't have to tell that I am one of the few who "needs help".

P.S. I saw this thread up again on Page 2 thinking there were news on the update...

Definitely up for a 3P game - albeit would prefer 30 minute timer. It will take some work to arrange with 3 time zones. As much as I love asynchronous play - especially Playdek's implementation, my gut feel that live play would work better.

Bugbear with asynchronous play is that I'm struggling with 3/4 games! I lose my rhythm and forget my strategy, and importantly, have to keep reminding myself what cards have been played. Leads to mistakes.

I'm just realising that I'm still making the basic mistake of not focusing on rounds and honour points left in the pool. My last MP game was a thumping because I lost track of honour points left in the pool, and I cruicially forget turn order i.e. who went first. I thought my turn was the last turn (honour pool 0) - to my horror, my opponent had the last turn, and I had flipped good cards for him because I thought the game had ended.

Caused me to hurl a series of expletives, thump my iPad and hurl it across the coffee table in frustration. Much to the consternation of my girlfriend.

note: in one of my earlier MP games, I drew 67-67 with lisapook, and my name was circled in white which I believed indicated I won. But no! Checking my profile, I was awarded a loss!

You can tell who goes last by looking at the avatar, the one with a white outline is going last. And in the case of a tie, the player with the last turn wins, which is a pretty stupid way to break ties.

In my game with currymutton, I completely forgot that he picked up Snapdragon, and ended up flipping 'Twofold Askara' for him. /sigh

This is an interesting game, because I'm playing a power / monster game [Void Heroes] coupled with a mixture of Englightened and Lifeblood. Currymutton has gone rune heavy, but has Snapdragon, All-Seeing Eye and some Mechana.

It's a case of whether I can banish cards in the middle row to prevent curry mutton getting them i.e. Mechana and deplete the honour pool quickly, or whether currymutton's long game will see him prevail with card advantage and off-board honour. Flipping Two-Fold Askara has probably handed the game to him if he buys it and can rifle through his deck to use it.

    28 rounds left.

Goddamn it! I lost to lisapook again! This timely 4 measely points. I am now 0-6 although one of those I drew with lisapook, my score was highlighted with a white outline and the game was awarded to her when I checked my profile!

I actually thought I had won this game - but no. 4 measly points. Getting closer to that elusive first MP win.

Hang in there, it can take a while but eventually things will just start clicking and you'll chain some wins. I suffered a LONG while in Nightfall hell before I had a sort of epiphany that allowed me to see tactics and strategies clearly.

Lost to techwtr 77-62. Off-board honour was my undoing. However, I am doing much better in my more recent play (narrow loss to lisapook) and I'm 29 on-board honour ahead of CurryMutton on the final turn [his].

Hell yes! Beat Jnt325 99-88. Mecha strategy worked well. Currently 1-7 with another 3 games in progress inc. the rematch with Jnt325.

Yeah as soon as all of the mechana constructs started coming off the board I knew I was cooked. Nice match and congrats on the first MP win!

crunc, I tried to send you a GC invite but no avail.

Riotgirl. You are too close to comfort. I am a very good player though, I think you have shown a lot of potential... I cannot keep track of all the games I am playing, so the feature of reviewing my whole deck is so important. I know what my "strategy" was and consider if it would time to change course. (P.S. This is the most requested feature for Nightfall, but still AWOL).

jnt325, I am sending you a game then.

My daughter "played" a couple of my online rounds last Sat, but I guess nobody notices that.

Awesome. The more games the better. I'm still in the early stages of wrapping my head around the game as well, but I'm really enjoying it so far.

Not that I am aware of. I tried it on iPhone5 but do not like the experience much. iPad Mini is okay but I strongly recommend the use of iPad Mini or above (?) to play it.

I think it is a tad better on iPad RD but iirc, it is not optimized for it either.
