Playdek is doing Agricola, so you'll see two very different translations of two similar games by the same designer, Uwe Rosenberg. By the time Agricola is out you will also know whether Sage Games is serious about supporting Le Havre with fixes and possibly the Le Grand Herneau expansion.
I didn't know that Playdek was doing Agricola. That's quite a different type of game for them, at least as I understand it. I have never played Agricola.
Agricola and Le Havre have some striking similarities (IMHO). I am very excited that Playdek is doing Agricola. Based on the quality of their other games, it should be outstanding. If you're really concerned about the quality of Le Havre, I believe Agricola is supposed to be out this summer.
Have I mentioned that you have an evil streak? (You are kidding, right? About removing Big Ghost?!?!)
It's my favorite card in Nightfall. It's a bit tricky to keep alive, since everyone targets it. However, it can do massive damage if it gets to attack. You really should try Nightfall. It's a fun game, a great port, and it will only improve with the upcoming addition of more cards (provided Big Ghost stays).
Yay for tomorrow! I don't even know how to play, and I'm still excited. I'd better start watching that video that Vernimator was kind enough to post.
I see. I would take it if it was not for all the negative comments I read complaining f how limited the game is till the expansions are out.
If you have an Ipad to play it on, I'm not sure how you could be concerned about the quality of Le Havre. Given all of the information that Sage Games had to make readily accessible on the screen, they did an outstanding job. Could they change the font? Yes. Are there other minor tweaks they could make, like making it easier to see the previous moves? Absolutely. But those are minor complaints. Overall, they did a great job of fitting in the interface all of the details necessary to play the game.
You should watch that how to play video as well as WatchItPlayed's playthrough of a game, Fallen Kingdom vs Vanguards. It's an extremely well done show and highly recommended for board game fans.
Ascension is getting a bit buried in the SW madness despite the 4-set mayhem. Have you guys seen the latest promo card for the physical game? It's pretty insane And don't miss the flavor text
See? In that case they would have FINALLY crossed he line that the Mechana are always dancing around, it seems like such an obvious addition for them.
So after playing a few games with all the sets, I've concluded something. Games are almost always one-sided. I've lost 110-88, won 108-56 and rarely, rarely, does a game have less than 10 honor in it. Early game constructs and heroes dictate everything.
I sadly, seem to be the master of close calls. If I win a match at all, even two players, it tends to be some squeaker of 1-5 points.
4-set mayhem does lead to some one-sided games, sometimes because of a lot of the big cards from CotG and sometimes because the center row tends to have a lot of monsters. I've noticed monsters show up a lot more in 4-set games.
