Yeah would have picked 303V. Gives you a 4 honor head start just for the end game points, and you had a few mechana things. Good last game by the way. I won on the last turn. You made a few mistakes not picking the 1 point cards. I picked them up and they opened up doors. Void mesmer is indeed my least favorite 6 cost card. If it allowed you to buy a unit, not just a hero, then it might be worth it, but if it's just hero, it's rarely useful, although I have fond memories of defeating Samael and using Mesmer to pick Adayu or Soulslayer
I would have picked Weapon303 also, it's great with Dream Machine and great fodder for the Scrap Flinger. Heck, I can see a 10 power hand coming out of playing Weapon (3) DM it (3) play SF (2) and destroy Weapon (2)! I somewhat agree with Void Mesmer, although you can get a high cost hero for free at times it's inconsistent and 6 runes is rather expensive for a HI with that ability.
You and Camzy are both very good at multiplayer games. I still have soooo much to learn there. I've played about 10 3-player games and about 5 4-player games, so any and all advice is welcome. Camzy, I know a while back you said that in some respects, it's much the same, but I keep playing like there's only one other person involved. Aargh!
Yay! That was probably the first time I really wielded Treasures of the Study like the deadly card it is.
congratulations for your well deserved victory, Desuki! i wish you the best for the ongoing tournament. thx for gaming.
Yeah it's the same when it comes to playing your own turn for the most part. But having slightly more attack is advantageous, and also it's important not to lead in honor. Those Sordid Asps will really kick your ass. I've been hit twice in one round by it, and lost handily Controlling the center row is much more difficult too. Just try not to leave anything game changing like an Edge or Path Warden out there. It's also better to try and finish strongly in a multiplayer game, come from behind if you will. I haven't finished last in a 3 or 4 player game in a long time. Just play hard on your turns, and build a hand which will win in a single player game.
Has anyone else noticed how sometimes after acquiring a card it's replaced by the same card from the portal deck? I think it might be a bug, it's happened quite a few times to me.
Yeah I find 4 player games very challenging, although I seem to do well in 3 player games, go figure! In 3 and 4 player games the cards that allow you to cycle your deck and those that banish center row cards are even more valuable than in regular games. Perhaps the only exception to this would be Askura of Fate...although I don't mind picking it up at all in two player games (it advantages outweigh its cost IMHO) I feel nervous giving two or three other opponents an extra card just to gain two cards and a center row banish for myself. Thoughts?
That's the third time today that I've acquired a construct and then it was replaced by the same construct...
one gets creative when faced with overwhelming power :b edit: I really enjoyed my deck. it was a lot of fun playing my turn
I was so intimidated by your construct army that I was playing an all out tactic, banishing cards that had honor to get the job done. I think I banished two Mystics and a Grease Monk. Black Hole has more uses than simply banishing your starters. And I love Arha Sensei, one of my favorite heroes across all sets. In order to best use him you have to be able to let go of some cards.
I thought dharta's retreat would work with vedah since it says you "draw" the card. I mean technically you do acquire it, but the wording makes it sound as if you're only "drawing it". that kinda sucked when it didn't :/
Yeah, that was odd. I was expecting it to work too. I couldn't figure out why your turn ended for a second =/
Hey griffin, I'm declining all matches from CotG at this point. I already have 20 games running, and I feel games with the original set don't move fast enough and aren't as exciting or fun.
