Thanks man, you saved me $10. I am sure it is a great game probably one of the best on ios, it just doesn't look like my type of game (although i wouldn't have thought orions and ascension would be a month ago either)
I'm a little bit in the same position with one great disadvantage for me as I have not played games of this kind. I would love to purchase the full version though, but I would prefer to read a guide of the game concept. Is there anything relative to a guide like this? Thanks
I just had my first online match ... A draw 58 58 with somebody called ... Remote player! Are you here? It was fun, I lost my lead (to answer who asked before) because I neglected to banish cards. Online is cool! Who plays online?
This is one of my favorite aspects of Ascension, especially as compared to Dominion (highly over-rated, IMO). I adjust all the time in Ascension, and I almost never finish a game with the same strategy with which I began it. I might start out totally convinced that I'm going to go for a lot of constructs, but before I know it I'm picking up Lifebound cards like they're on sale or something. This sort of flexibility is a sign of good game design. Constrast with Dominion, where experienced players will be able to tell exactly how they're going to play the game just by looking at the initial decks. And they'll make the same play, turn after turn after turn, with no variety at all. Bleh. It's sad that Dominion is more of a math problem than a game.
Carcassonne is a blast, while it uses cards it isn't really a card game, per se. You and the players are working together to build this town of roads, castles, and abbeys but in a competitive manner. Each turn you draw a card and try to figure out how best you can fit this piece into the puzzle in such a way so as to claim the most points (you gain points by being the one to put the finishing piece on a road, castle, or whatever of an area you had already claimed).
According to the developers, Inns & Cathedrals and The River II will be available as IAP in autumn (no more specific date than that yet).
Starting to understand the game more now, it becomes a lot more fun when you know what you are doing. Before I buy the full version I would like to know how active the multiplayer is? Are there lots of games running making it easy to find games? Changing the topic, what's your favourite cards?
I do, my ID is griffin611 None. but i find that six-power monster card which draws one card from each opponent when defeated is particular cunning to use. BTW, I find another way to "trim" a bloated deck is through "draw more card" cards. It can also increase the chance of playing powerful cards. Seriously, I think this app deserves a mention at TA front page, even the Cargo Runner has!
I'm interested in picking this up. I played the lite yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Might be getting it.
accepted (I think) ... man, I just had a crappy game. I simply could not decide on a strategy. Amazed I only lost by one point.
It seems this game is lacking what seems to be a 3rd level of difficulty of the AI. When you tap on the difficulty meter, it seems there can be another one after the second option. Also, it would be nice if the AI wouldn't take a pause at the end of their turns so as to make their turns a bit faster. On the side of additions though, if the AI can get a third level of difficulty (hard mode) then it would be nice if they can be implemented in online games to fill in the remaining slots. Also, it would also be cool to add in text chat in-game online along with a 2 on 2 setting for both online and offline. You would have each partner on the team take their turn at the same time that would be contributing to the same pool of runes and attack of that turn. I would imagine how much more deep the game could get!
The third difficulty option is planned (as long as previous posters say) ... I would also love AI to fill the spots on online games. For the pause, did you try to increment the game speed.
Oh, ha. Did not notice that option. Thank you very much! Edit: I would also like to know how much honor I have during the gameplay that is counted from the cards I have. That way I know who is ACTUALLY in the lead. That'd be very nice.
Hi everyone, I've been following this game and this thread for awhile and decided to take the plunge and get this game today. I have been playing the Lite version for a few days already and really like it. I find the level of strategy involved in this game pretty amazing! This is my 1st deck-building/board game on the iOS and I really enjoy it! Now playing 4 online games. Hope to have chance to play with you guys. My GC nick is aaronius80, do add me!
Just played 3 online games, finally won all 3! About time.. Anyway, this game is flawless online, just wish it had a way to say gg or something after the match. Add me:littledannyh
