Only half true: Militia are worth 1 honor apiece at game's end.

No, that'd be the heavy infantry and mystics; the cards in your starting deck (eight apprentices and two militia) are worth no honour.

Yea the apprentice gets justbin the way after a while I tend to banish them for a draw of two cards if I can.

Wow, he's done a lot of games. Too bad it doesn't list Ascension :(

Yes, like I said, militia are worth zero.

    *Ahem* ...

(Move along; nothing to see here ... )

The multiplayer has really been picking up. Played a bunch of games today with no problem at all. Excellent game, needs a front page review.

One bug found: ifbyou play a 3-player game, if you enable a player on lower right, no matter what you choose the avatar, it always show the guy in flames.

I do like this game and have been enjoying it - however I find I have to play it completely ignoring what my opponent is doing! I find it really hard/arduous to try to track the opponent's style/objectives etc. Would be good to be able to slow the opponent play so that you can see each 'play' they make, clearly examine the cards involved etc.

YOu can set the speed to slow and that should be enough or use the LOG.
After a while you can understand their move based on the cards even and then you can increase the speed.

Hope this helps. As realizing what their position is in terms of runes, attach and constructors is fundamental to win.

Well, that depends, but like the game of mahjong, it is better to note what you opponnents are doing and use corresponding tactics, say banishing. Well, after losing many times to orange AIs, I notice the winning side has a pattern and I suggest you seenit yourself.

I have the lite version of the game and so far I am enjoying it, but I find myself beating the single computer (orange) even though I dont really know what I am doing.

In the full version does playing against more than 1 cpu make it harder? Also are there many players online to play against?

I am struggling to understand the strategy in the game, I seem to just purchase random cards not really undertanding what I am doing where as games like Shadow Era it seems more simple to build a deck. Its not like once you pick a race you have to stick to it so I dont get it. Can someone guide me here?

Also what is the point in Banishing a card?

You will cycle through your deck quicker, increasing the odds that you'll see your better cards more often.

I'd like to see new cards in this game.

Btw, imho, it's the best TCG on Iphone, far better than Orions.

There is a little theory in trying to find cards that work well together. Some real general theories I've used (some tactics can be used a bit together while others sort of contradict each other).:

    1) Work on getting cards that help you build up your runes to then acquire all of the highest valued honor point cards before your opposition. Focus on obtaining cards that will boost your runes so you can snap up several cards from the center row each turn.

    2) Work on building up your power so you are the first to defeat all of the monsters and steal the victory points from your opponents.

    3) Focus on building constructs, therefore getting all of the Mechna cards that would assist you in this goal (either in helping you get more constructs or giving you bonuses based on your constructs in play). One of hte advantages of focusing on Mechna cards is that they have great honor point ratios for runes spent.

    4) Focus grabbing Lifebound cards as they often share a lot of symmetry (grant bonuses based on other Lifebound cards played).

    5) Play defensively and try to gage what your opponents are doing and do what your can to thwart them (like if your opponent has a construct in play that gives him an extra honor point for each monster he defeats, try to defeat the monsters before he can get to them, focusing on many cheap as opposed to a few big ones).

    6) Adapt to what is going on. Try to adjust your play style to some of the cards you've gained early on, like if you manage to snag that Enlightened hero that can effortlessly defeat any up to 6 power monster, try to focus on a deck that is all about defeating monsters or, oppositely, focus completely on runes and let that one card handle most of your monster busting.

I really really love this game, and I can usually destroy the orange AI. Playing online though, I get annihilated, but it's still a blast. I just hope I will get better, I understand what to do and I have a solid strat (i think) I just can't seem to get the "luck of the draw" before the other guy(s) thwart my plans

I already can't wait for the expansion. This dev did a nice job. I don't think you can fairly compare this and orions though as they really are two different type of games, this is more polished than orions though and orions could sorely use asynch MP.

On a side note I keep reading that Carcassone is a great game, is it anything like this?

Definitely yes. Already on 'easy' (green). It's much harder to get the right cards.

Banishing cards is very useful to trim a bloated deck (ever played Dominion? Probably not.) so that the powerful cards appear more often, when the (smaller) discard pile is shuffled.

They share no similarities whatsoever. Well, other than both are "games."
