Haha thanks! Pathwarden is hands down one of my favorite cards in the game. It makes a rune player suddenly a power player. A must-have 6 point card.
I don't like Vedah or Kythis for that matter. It's too random. You have no idea what card is going to be acquired or defeated... I did lose one game where my opponent pulled an Adayu the Chosen with the Vedah to completely ruin my game though, so maybe I'm just bitter from that.
The fact that Vedah allows you to draw into your hand directly is what makes him deadly, if you can get him in a slim deck or a card drawing build. I've been taking such a thrashing from camzy today that it felt to good to finally win a match, sry tecwrtr
So, Pathwarden in the center row, I finally get 6 runes but you already have 6 runes... and I have to control the urge to forfeit right there >_>
Eye of Destiny baby! It's a strange card. It seems outright brilliant at times, but sometimes just a bit meh. The fact you have to acquire the cards to put directly into your hand usually means it isn't much use (unless it's Path Warden )
Yeah, that was a great play. And it's stuff like that which makes me feel I didn't play too poorly because I didn't get a chance at all to buy any of those heavy cards that showed up near the end, Pathwarden, Eye of Destiny or Vedah even though I had a pretty thin deck and cards that gave me buying power. But I don't know, you're probably a better judge of whether I need to significantly improve my game.
I would definately reccommend Cabals. Cabals and Ascension are my two most played IOS games by far. Cabals is a growing CCG with quite a bit of strategical depth, and is great fun when matched vs a good opponent. You get a basic deck for free, and can earn currency by playing online or offline but after a few days I paid for a range of cards as I enjoyed it so much. http://www.cabalsgame.com is the website
I think there are a few nuances in the opening turns you overlook. One point cards. Don't take them unless they're Prodigal or Aiyana's Messenger. Also, look to get banishers, and if you can't, stop your opponent from getting them. Mystics are always good early game if you see something of value sitting there. It's sometimes a rush to get the good cards in the center row first, so maximize your chances with Mystics. If I see Shadowcaster or Path Warden, or an Edge, I'll take a Mystic or a +2 rune hero at least one if not both of the first two turns to try and nab it first. Edit: Oh and Raven. That card is one of my favorites, and it's so often overlooked. If you have a good mobile deck, it's easy to shuffle it so that you only have one card on your deck left which means you can sift through your discard pile and hand to work out which one it is. If not, guess apprentice or whatever card you have the most of, and you can likely get it. +3 honor and draw is Lionheart level.
No problem. You're picking up the nuances of the new expansion much faster than I am. Based only W/L ratio since the new cards came out, so is everyone else. Appreciate the tips, Camzy!
Wow. I just barely tied with a guy who had Adayu, Aiyana, Pathwarden, Stone Circle, Cumbustion Idol x2 and was able to banish Kythis... Draining the honor pool early in the game with Lifebound heavy deck and Lifebound event saved me lol.
Blocking the opponent's buys intentionally is tougher than you make it sound. Unless I have an elemental adept or the banishing monsters are in the center row more than likely the opponent will get what he wants.
Still learning! Gimme some time lol! Been practicing against the AI during downtime. Think I'm getting the hang of it. I do agree the game has become more combo based. Sometimes, there are so many things you can do with events, trophies, special abilities of cards, timing the draw, etc. definitely have to think harder on the turns to maximize the honor gain.
Haha wow, I just played a BRUTAL match where pretty much everything went perfectly. I had banishing cards like Black Watch Elite, Abolishers and even the Dreamer's Glass under which I was able to stack 10 cards at the end. In addition and because of those I also managed to get 2x Combustion Idols, Socket Altar, Weapon 303V, Dream Machine, Vedah, Adayu, Syril... so yeah, pretty much the perfect game. At one point I had no cards to draw with Combustion Idol because all cards were in my hand Dreamer's Glass seems to be a great card, very useful for removing cards hat no longer fit in with your strategy. But it can become a nuisance if the opponent manages to destroy it and release all that pent up useless inertia back into your deck.
Is that the one where you put a card from your hand under it and draw a card? Yeah, I like that too, but I've been losing a lot, LOL. Seems better balanced yet again and more emphasis on honor won throughout the game, I think. You can win with honor on cards, but if you get much behind in running total it's tough.
If it starts feeling like the opponent has a working build for draining the honor pool very quickly then you should stop working for a strategy and just grab lifebound or heavy honor cards at every turn. It can get very difficult to claw back if the opponent puts a heavy drain on the pool. By the time you have a decent construct set or combo in place the game is almost over and you'll be looking at card that gave you a good build but weren't that honor efficient.
Just a bit slow Yeah, I agree with your earlier assessment. A seemingly incoherent deck can work really well with honor drain. Snake Shaman is very underrated. I used two one turn to drain for 6 honor. The center row was awful, and I ended up pulling away just by making use of things like that and Treasures of the Study.
