If you're not into playing against other people, and don't mind only having the option to play versus a single AI opponent, the Lite version stands as a fully-functional game in itself. The full version adds online multiplayer, and additional AI opponents, but the core of the game remains the same. I'd recommend that anybody with even the slightest interest in the game (or similar games) pick up the free version at least, then decide if they want the expanded experience.
I see and the way the AI level is implemented gives me an impression that there is higher AI level. Yeah, the game is not old even I have beaten all the AI in a 3-to-1 game. And, I check the Boardgame Geek site and there is an expansion called "Return of the Fallen" (do not mix it one up with that Transformers movie), but it is said to be a 1-on-1 game. As for banishing, it is more like a double-edged sword than an art. Take the Void Hero "Arbiter of the Preciice" (costs 4, with 1 honour point) you can draw 2 cards when use but unlike other card with banishing option, you must banish one of the card, not from anywhere else, but from your hand. If you are having a hand of all honours, you may wish to skip using this card. Not to mention, having 2 of this card in the hand can sometime be a royal pain... Oh, my GC ID is griffin611.
Apparently the expansion and the promo cards are in development for the iOS version, and given that the expansion's only real change in game mechanics is the fate cards, I should think we could see it arrive as IAP before the end of the year. I assume the current app doesn't have the official 2v2 teamplay ruleset implemented; I hope we'll see that introduced as well as the expansion's six-player (and 2v2v2) mode.
I had thatone come up for me once yesterday when I didn't want to use it, so I discarded it with the librarian Good luck moving to 2 on 1 vs orange. When I did that yesterday, I got hammered. I was neck and neck with one AI but the other one just destroyed us.
You might want to check that again; the expansion when played as a standalone game is 1v1, but when added into the original game it expands Ascension to be played by up to six players (and includes a variant for playing the game solo).
Ha, the amount of people who like to make up complete bollocks gives you the right to question. ^_- It was confirmed on their Facebook page (and somewhere else I can't remember at the moment) that the expansion for iOS is in the pipeline and will be available as IAP. The speculation that it would be here by the end of the year was entirely mine, of course. ^_^ Additional: The red/hard AI is also in the works.
Same. I doubted a lot, but this is really a well executed game! Way better than another I was so stupid to buy today ... damn me!
I will tell you what, I never ever played these games and in fact would secretly snicker at people who did. But...These games are a total blast on ios. First I got addicted to orions 2, which led me to this, which led met to shadow era. The beauty of it is, all three games play totally different from each other and each one represents a hell of alot of value for the dollar. Anything else out there that is as good as those three? (I already bought dungeon solitaire and heroes blade, but they don't seem as in depth or as balanced as the others).
I have all the games you mention except orion2 .... is it worth? I love this one and SE (dungeon solitaire is a nice ... solitaire and the rest is not so great).
Orions 2 is a very good game, overall it's pretty polished and balanced. I am sure you will see some people say other wise, but coming from a relative newcomer to these games I found it intuitive and balanced and polished and more importantly addictively fun.
Trust me, we were laughing right back at you ... and then turning our attention back to these cool games.
Battle of Gundabad (NZ$2.59/US$1.99) is a strong clone of Dominion, a very popular and well-known deck building game which is basically considered to be the "father" of Ascension and other similar games. Aesthetically speaking, BoG holds up well; most of the complaints about the game revolve around just how much it rips off the source material in terms of directly copying the mechanics. That's not necessarily such a bad thing, however, considering that an official Dominion app isn't available on iOS yet. The dealbreaker for some, though, will be that the game currently only has provision for AI opponents, with no human multiplayer.
Thanks appletini ( ), i was googling and found this just before checking for replies. Anyway, I just purchased it. I swear I never play games on my consoles or pc anymore just too many cheap fun games for ios.
So in this game there is the potential to have a card battle with 4 TA players and you get a push notification when their turn is up? Just want to get this straight before I buy in the future.
My first 1v1 at orange level ... 88-73 win. So much mire fun at this difficulty, looking forward for the red one!
Just won a great match with 2 Orange AI. Final scores 64-63-62. Love it. It came down to the very end, and I deliberately left an honor point n the pool on my second to last turn so the game went another round.
