    Questions and comments

    Questions:
    1) What does sword-boy do? I know it gives peasants sword, but how much dmg increase? or maybe other effects such as pushback?
    2) What does torch-boy do? I haven't played much to invest in archers (since they don't know how to retreat and die easily). Does it make the arrow shot by archers explosive (like in the movie) or just add damage or pushback?

    Comments:
I beat the game three times. It is so much fun. I don't think we need to buy any gold. It is unfortunate that endless mode does not yield much gold. Also once you beat, there's nothing else to do but to upgrade and try different strategy but again, can't grind for gold very well in endless. I played Endless for 5 minutes and only got 3000 gold as when I was at lv50 (trying to beat lv50), I could get 20k gold in 5 minutes.

If anyone can answer my two questions above, that would be great.

    Thanks!

    A Plist

Ok I have finally managed to upgrade ALL available items to MAX at level 50.
Here is the Plist for that. I'm not sure how to use it (yet). However, it has everything upgraded and at lv50 with 7k gold (not much but there's nothing else to upgrade). So you can just play it to beat the final wave.

    Enjoy.

The game slows down horribly (like 1-2 fps) when played on my iPhone 4, anyone else experienced this?
I've never seen any slowdowns before when playing on an iPod touch 4 or iPad 2.
I am very curious why this is and would appreciate any help.

At what point in the game? One of the levels or unlimited? In unlimited, you can get to the point that there are so many units on screen that the game does slow down. Though personally I haven't seen it slow down to 1-2 fps. Maybe 10 fps. I'm on an iphone 4.

You might want to make sure to quit out of other apps - if you're running out of RAM, that could cause the slowdown.

It happens ALL THE TIME, it started as I started the game at level 1 and has been there up to this point (I am level 48 now). I am perfectly sure it is not running out of RAM problem, there are NO apps running besides the game.
The game is still playable, but the slowdown is really annoying.
Something might be wrong with my iPhone but I am not technically savvy enough to be able to tell. Anyway, other games work fine, it's just this game that has problems. Really weird as, as I already said, I had no such problems with this game on my previous iDevices (iPt4 and iPad 2).

Hmm, don't know. Have you tried reinstalling the game?

For me I used level 2 or 3 peasant at wave 2 or 3 , waited for 2 smithy then spammed the peasant, just keeps running back and forth passed the final spear skeletons to make sure the peasants don't get hits.

its a fun game, I played through 3 or 4 times using different skills and units. I then decided to do every single achievement, now that I did that I am aiming at the worldwide high score, I think I'm on track for that.

which brings me to the downside to the endless mode, it runs so damn slow when you have over 100 units all congested up at the gate, its at the point where I just leave it be and it keeps going but its just such a slow process.

just so I know when to stop would someone let me know what the highest score on endless mode is, I can't check while mine is going

Feel kinda weird saying this, since everyone seems to love it so, but I thought this game was awful and I deleted it after a couple of levels. It's like a horrible amalgamation of lots of bad games and Ash deserves better, dammit!

Really, can someone check that high score for me. I'm up to around the 120,000,000 mark but I can't remember how high I need to go

High score is almost 1,200,000,000. My game was running for about 12 hours to get up to 200,000,000 because of how slow it goes once your screen has so many units on it. How the hell can anyone have days and days on end to sit there with this game?

So my 7 year old is stuck on level 50 and bugging me on how to beat it. I read online a bit and it seems a little difficult especially since I don't know the game too well and don't understand all the weapons pits etc.

Is there an easy way to do it. Like someway I can use iFile and go in and max out the strength of everything so he can win???

    You'll make him quite happy.

    Thanks

Really? You're going to teach your son that it's ok to cheat to win a game? :(

It took me a few times to beat that level. I'm sure if he was able to get that far, he can beat it too with some practice. Also, by doing the level multiple times, he'll earn gold to upgrade his units, skills, etc. There's no one way to do it - just tell him to keep working on it.

    Thanks I'll let him know.

I have questionable ethics and morals so this doesn't bother me. Plus, I really want him to learn that he can go into the files and modify things. The more he messes around the better.

Lastly, isn't AOD a freemium game? Is it cheating to pay real money to buy better weapons, gold etc.???

I haven't put thought into ethics of games but would you consider tilting a pinball machine cheating???

anyway - thanks for the reply

lol, as long as you recognize your ethical/moral limits, I guess that's ok?
Sure, teaching him to experiment and learn about the device, etc. is good. I just think it's also good to make sure he understands why he's doing it. But of course, it's not my place to instruct you on raising your child. Just my opinion.

No, it's not cheating to use real money to buy more gold because the developers put that feature into the game. Cheating is the act of bypassing the designed rules/features. And no, I wouldn't consider bumping a pinball machine cheating either because pinball machines have tilt sensors to detect the amount of bumping. It's part of the game - it's a risk you take - if you bump too much, you get penalized for it. Now if the tilt sensors weren't in there, then yes, I would consider it cheating.

Tried this for the first time today since buying it in May. Got through 15 waves. Not sure why you'd want to play any further. 112 MB that should have been freed up a long time ago.

Well, it's one of those games you either love or hate. I personally loved it - I still play it occasionally, but after finishing the main campaign, I got bored with the endless mode. The sounds are probably the best part, but the gameplay is pretty fun too. Definitely my favorite castle defense game.
