No, was playing on iTouch 4. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to the 2X mode, so doubt my opinion would be much guide anyhow.
My finger is hovering... so... hovering. But I'm torn. there are SO many games I never touch, and I don't know how I feel about the 'Defense' side of this. Having just bought, and not even looked for a second at, Legendary Wars, is it worth my time? I love Ash and, if I wasn't married or a guy, I might be inclined to marry Bruce Campbell - but is that enough to pull me in? If the samples aren't really good, if the fan service isn't there 100% as WELL as it being a good game, can I justify $3? Ugh. And $2.99 is the sale price? Backflip?
Gotta say I'm enjoying this one quite a bit. It's a new take on the defense genre, and it works very well. Really like how you control the guy in real time with the freedom to move around while still being able to summon allies to help you. The level/upgrade system works pretty well also. Backflip also delivers pretty high quality stuff.
The game is just awesome!! I like a lot their perspective to CD genre... It's easy to understand the philosophy of the game and it's quite quick (specialy the early waves) so is difficult to get boring. The graphics is really good (even for 2D, are well drawn). The bad is, that maybe it not have replayabilty after you finish the leveling and upgrading, but this is something that will see in the future I tested both versions and i think i prefer iPad (because the graphics are solid and beautiful in the big screen), but it's also good to have it on the way, into your iPhone. Ohh.... and of course is totally fun!!!! P.S: Recommended tip: Watch the movie before you start playing (to remember all the details that you ll see in the game)... *You definitely don't need the iaps to enjoy the game....
This isn't TD (tower defense), its CD (castle defense) .. Big difference.. Still a good game, just saying. Please don't confuse the genres like so many people do.
Game Impressions I played through about 25 waves. Its a pretty fun game. I definitely got my dollars worth. As a castle defense game this really doesn't do anything new, except that you can to run around with Ash and pump skeletons full of shotgun lead. Controls of spot on. Gameplay is fluid and fun. There is a short intro from the movie. Graphics and sharp and crisp. There is tons of stuff to upgrade. I'm just not sure if I'll be coming back once I've upgrading my whole fleet and unlocked everything. But its a couple hours worth of play time before you get to that point at least.
In that case, I will not be purchasing this game. Plenty of straight-forward good games out there, no need to support pickpocket apps.
Same here too and I'm disappointed 'cause it's my birthday today and I'm an huge fan of the Evil Dead series since the first time I saw it (about in 1985) but don't bear those in apps. I prefer buying it at full price from the beginning instead of having updates with more and more in apps
It's a shame because it's you all who are missing out. I am at wave 40 right now and have never felt the need to buy an IAP. The IAPs seem to be there for the people that want to start the game and just plow through it as quickly as possible with no resistance at all. Multiple people here have come out and said the game isn't made to bleed you dry by IAPs, yet one person says it does (and he was probably only talking about the desire to upgrade everything, which you don't need to do to clear the waves). Anyway, I got this for my iPad and it looks amazing and is a lot of fun. I was never really a fan of CD games, but I guess a little Bruce and a great game can go a long way . I am curious to see if I will keep coming back after I upgraded everything and whatnot, but right now I am having a blast .
IAP not required to play I'm also playing through this and the IAP for gold is just there as a "cheat" and is not needed to play through the game as is. As a side note, this game is pretty darn fun. But maybe I'm biased.
If you're skipping this game because it has IAP, you're really doing yourself a disservice, especially if you're a fan of the Evil Dead series. Gabrien's impressions that seem to be dissuading everyone must be based on playing the game for less than 5 minutes. The IAP cheats are only attractive for the first half hour or so, at which point you have so much gold coming in that you are basically always upgrading something. I suppose nothing can stop the knee-jerk "hurf blurf IAP, NO THANKS" reactions a lot of people have around here, but you could just ignore the option exists as it's entirely optional.
I love so much Evil Dead than before reading it I was purchasing the game !!! Now it's gonna be synchronised to my device
Who the hell buys in-game currency anyways? In any case, there's definitely no need for any kind of additional investments after the flat price. Level 15 already, and it's going great. Maybe if you suck at terribly games...but otherwise, I don't see how you'd even be tempted by the iAP. In any case, there's a great review on the frontpage that goes in depth on the game.
