The only downside is that most games are won by complete stomps, or a loss by a total beating. Match making is pretty bad, but i dont know how that can be remedied. KeKhan Well-Known Member May 28, 2012 1,380 43 48 #4 KeKhan, Dec 19, 2017 The TenCent version in Europe is different. Matchmaking has been pretty consistent. I've been playing on the EU servers for a while now and the only complete stomps are the very early matches of the ranked games before you level up. Then it evens out. Usually a pretty good back and forth. In non ranked it's a dice roll who your teammates are, they can be completely new to the game. Best is to get a good roster of friends you play well with and use the built in voice-chat to communicate. It's been out for a while in Asia through Garena servers, and there are streams available of players that have been playing for a while outside of asia, and even has characters that havent been added into the asia server yet. hitmantb Well-Known Member Nov 15, 2011 283 0 0 #7 hitmantb, Dec 20, 2017 You can not be anything less than top tier to be world's #1 grossing game on any platform. There are so many little things about this game that makes it a joy to play, very high polish, ton of little control simplification/optimizations, my moves come out exactly the way I expect them to come out and yes, as someone who never made it out of silver league in LOL, playing my favorite scrub friendly character Garon (ahem, Arthur) is a blast! In these days it is extremely difficult for any game to dominate sales charts outside of their home territory. See Monster Strike, Puzzles and Dragons, Lineage 2 Revolution US/European numbers. Or Candy Crush / Clash of Clans numbers in China / Japan. When Tencent's marketing campaign kicks in I hope this is a consistently top 50 grossing title in US / Europe, as long as it dethrones Mobile Legend Bang Bang and hold the #1 most popular / top grossing mobile MOBA in US/Europe I will be very happy. Digibear Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2012 79 0 0 #8 Digibear, Dec 20, 2017 Best Traditional Moba out. Only Vainglory 5v5 will pull me away from it. Just wish my connection wasn't so bad everywhere. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,391 398 83 #9 L.Lawliet, Dec 20, 2017 Just tried it and it's pretty fun! I'm having more fun with it than Vainglory as the stick allows easier control. I think the only thing I'm confused about is attacking. I sometimes am confused how to control who I attack. I've been swapping controls in the settings but it's still strange to me. In any case I might keep at it for a bit, I'm okay at these as I'm more of a casual player but if it starts getting too hard I'll probably give up like Vainglory. Vainglory is great but it just got really really difficult that I felt a casual player couldn't have much fun. houseofg Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Oct 1, 2013 1,598 75 48 #10 houseofg, Dec 20, 2017 Last edited: Dec 20, 2017 Guild? Ahh I had that on but I guess I never noticed it in the heat of battle. I'll try to pay more attention to that. Btw I need some help on how to use the BUILD system? So I made my own build of equipment I like and it's set in the match but I'm confused how selecting your premade build does anything? When I'm in battle I check the build and it just shows my build name and an empty inventory. I can buy anything I want. So how does "selecting my own build" do anything? I assumed it would help you pick the items in battle but I just see often random recommendations for items. When I start taking whatever the game recommends it just fills up my equipment inventory and then it's totally different from my build. I'm obviously missing some mechanic but I can't figure it out.. This is what determines your build. Then, during a match, you will see the quick-buy items pop up and those are essentially building towards your end items. If you open the shop in a match, all your “end” items are on the right. Select it and you will see a line connecting the items that build towards it. You can also choose to preorder that item and it will focus it. Then all quick buy items will be towards that specific item. If you don’t preorder it will just go through your build from left to right, so think about that when you create it. Usually people put a quick cheap power item first and then boots, and then the rest. Up to you tho. It’s done this way so you have a consistent power growth throughout the match. If you had to wait to save up 2000 gold for every end item in your build, you would have long periods of weakness. Instead you buy items that build towards your end items and gain power as you go. When you DO purchase your end item, everything building towards it is “consumed”, so don’t worry about your inventory filling up. Also, the gold cost of your “end” item is reduced for every item you buy building towards it. That said, if you have the gold, you can purchase an end item outright. Generally, in the shop, all end items are on the right side. Again, you can see be selecting it what builds towards it. Ok, about the targeting: There’s a LOT of target options, find what works best for you. You can choose to auto target closest heroes, or lowest health heroes (I choose lowest health). You can also enable a button that lets you choose between targeting minions or towers. Then there’s the nearby heroes icons that let you focus a specific hero nearby. Hit the ? question mark near the options to see more details. Play with them all in a bot match and see what works best for you. Oh one more tip, and something I love about AoV over other MOBAs : You can go into Training Mode and try any hero! ANY HERO! Even ones that are just released. Really let’s you figure out if you will like it before you buy it.
