Are you a tech geek? Do you know these things? http://laptoplogic.com/resources/64-things-every-geek-should-know
Haha, neat article. I especially like the point about screwing with WiFi leeches. I run probably the most impressive WiFi leech honeypot that I've ever seen. It's been a pet project of mine for about four years now.
I'm even a professional geek. I make my living as an IT-Consultant. All my friends and family come to me, if they have any computer problems... But I like it that way
I got tired of fixing people's computers about ten years ago. I used to just be able to feign ignorance and say "I'm a mac guy!" ...Then most of my family got Macs. So now I'm trying to come up with a convincing story about how I'm suddenly suffering from computer-related amnesia...
Speak for your own country. Both bill C-60 and C-61 failed. Canada still has no laws about tampering with 'digital locks.'
Most of the countries have a law for DRM, I don't see why they should point out that Canada doesnt. No one care what happen there.
Well that is simply not true and not true (respectively.) Canadian copyright law may be rather unique among industrialized nations, but I have my doubts about the accuracy of your statement. The pseudo-statistic; "half the world has never made a phone call" is a fudged figure and not exactly true, but I expect that such legislation would be totally irrelevant in many countries. US owned studios and their lobbyists care about Canadian copyright law. They are the reason C-60 and C-61 came to the table in the first place. Ever since it was determined to be legal to download all the music you want (regardless of whether or not you have even purchased a license) they have cared a lot. So, in short, please do some research before you contribute any more misinformation.
Ehhhhhhhh arguing DRM and legalities of stripping it is kind of a slippery slope. Let's try to keep this thread fun.
