In the meantime, I've offered to give an advanced copy of the game to the TouchArcade site admins a day or two ago, no one has responded yet. There are lots of titles coming out, I'm sure they just have their hands full, as Apple has theirs full as well. I'll be sure to give out a ton of promo codes when it goes live. Thanks for everyone's feedback. It's extremely encouraging!
Keep your fingers crossed about the smashed screen effect. It's not just Ninja Buddy that initially got rejected for this reason - I'm aware of at least three other entertainment style apps that were rejected because they made the screen look like it was cracked.
Damn, every day I'm checking these forums, and then iTunes, and still no Archangel. I feel like I'm the captain on the bridge of his ship, anxious to depart, but Starfleet won't give me the green light.
I'm starting to worry that this one is never going to hit the light of day. Almost two weeks since it was submitted (apparently), still no sign of it, and we haven't heard a peep from the developer in like 5 to 6 days either. It's not looking good.
Hey, guys. Still waiting myself. I got one small rejection for having the large and small icons not matching up... "it would confuse users," they thought. It was just two different angles of the ship. Anyhow, I matched it up and submitted it the same day, and since then, it's been totally quiet since. I emailed them for an update... No response. I don't want to pester them either. Thanks for all the good replies here and PMs. At launch, I've elected to start the sale at $0.99 - I want everyone to be able to have and enjoy it. All the funds will go towards my three kids' education and savings, plus my encouragement to make more fun stuff for the iPhone. This really is the best platform in all respects, from a developer's standpoint to the end-user, and I'm just happy to contribute.
I'm betting it goes right to the back of the queue again when that happens, which means we have to start waiting all over again. It pretty much sucks to be me these days. If you like puzzle games, controlling boats into a harbor or parachuting units onto a moving platform, you're gonna have a great time. But someone creates a game where you actually get to do something really cool, like be the captain of a starship, and Apple reject it because not all of the icons were exactly the same size. Go figure.
Looking forward to this game, hope it hits soon. Definitely a first day purchase, just wish it would hit the store already.
Yeah I must admit that the lack of a video for this game has me concerned, especially after all this time. The dev could have been taking this time to get videos out there, to start getting people pumped for it, but instead he just disappears. It almost feels like he's going out of his way to not show the game, which tells me that, while the screenshots look good, it's probably not much fun to play. That's why this thread regularly drops down to the third, sometimes even the fourth page. It's also why the preview thread for that Minigore game has 119 pages or something, because they posted a very cool gameplay video and now there's like 100+ people pining for it's release, myself included.
Hey, guys. I don't know what the hold up is - I posted my timeline in the other thread regarding looong App Store submission times, and it's basically going on 18 days now. I've been a bit tied up on other projects, my next game, and working with some folks at Comic-Con. I delegated someone to piece together a video of the gameplay for me, and I have yet to hear back from them - I might as well start up a short video of it myself while I anxiously await its release.
Thanks for getting back to us mate. Some of us really like the idea behind this mod, and are anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Big ouch on that other post of yours on the long wait time. It doesn't sound to me like they have nearly enough people working on this, which is irritating considering the number of apps they say they've sold.
I put something together late real quick last night - it's only a draft video, since it's missing the game audio (don't know why my PC couldn't capture it), and the colors got dithered pretty badly (the nebula is rather smooth in full-color on the iPhone and desktops). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUYkSUR4lIk&fmt=18 I'll try to recapture additional footage and get the sound effects and voiceovers in there. The music is one of many orchestral tracks that work great in the game. Hope you guys like it. Now, if we can just see it in the App Store, I'd be a happy camper.
