And with a thumbsup from Nullzone this is now an instant download. Impressions to follow. Edit; After one hour. The first chapter is free to play. There are two more chapters that can be purchased. There is also one more chapter due sometime. 1. Would like the see the mini map expandable and to show drops and breakabke items. 2. When is chapter 4 expected to be completed? Should I hold off buying the two dlc chapters now and wait for a perhaps special price when all three are released? 3. Ranged attacks seem to be imprecise and your character needs to be almost in melee range before they are highlighted. There seems to be no way to change your highlighted enemy once targetted. 4. Would like to see your companion have the ability to equip items. 5. There appears to be no personal stash for excess items you want to keep. 6. Could not workout how to use teleporting scrolls. 7. The only way to save your game seems to be if you go back to town but with not working out how to use teleporting scrolls that requires tedious backtracking. (The game apparently autosaves if you start a side quest, and I have found a checkpoint in the middle of the map after some further playing). EDIT - A “Use” button has started appearing when the teleporting scroll is now selected. I am not sure why it was not appearing before even when I was not in combat. So I am leaving the two above comments here in case something similar happens in your experience playing. 8. Even with settings having the furthest view I feel the zoom level is still a bit too close. 9. Unfortunately there is no ability to customise the position of the skill buttons. 10. Had a rare bug where I was unable to reach a gold drop from a defeated enemy. Apart for the above requests and somewhat negative sounding theme, I am enjoying the game. It is a well made game that will be appreciated by most arpg players. The quality is outstanding considering a one man effort. The cost for the two dlc chapters is quite reasonable. Gold and arcane stones are your currencies and both can be had by drops and watching optional adds as well as iaps. The loot drops early game seem very good and I dont feel restricted in being able to find or buy better gear. I tend to be a completionist in my games so I did all available side quests and explored every corner and upgraded all my equipment and skills before attacking the first boss and found the battle to be tough but totally doable and managed to survive without dying. If you have the space (over 1 gig) and are in anyway interested in arpg’s this is a no brainer download that I can easily recommend you to give a try. Son of Anarchy likes this. Just gives some starting stats better values. Equipment requirements will probably determine what stats you increase as you level up. All classes can use all skills. lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 187 20 18 #11 lordnedox, Dec 23, 2018 In all honesty, the Warrior is the easier to use at the beginning, the Mage is second and the Ranger is the most difficult. The reason is that there are more pieces of equipment that require strength, which might lead to the mage and ranger being a bit 'naked' in the first levels. Once you start leveling up and you get more mana (also for the ranger!), things get easier as their attack power start to get quite strong (combine multi arrows and lightning arrows for example, but you will need the mana to support them). Anyways, you are free to experiment as you like. For the whole first Act you can visit the guy at the base camp (bottom left of the camp) and ask to respec all you stats and skills for free. In further acts he will ask for some arcane stones as compensation. So even if you mess up, you can fix it! The in game help was a bit rushed and will be improved in a furher update. 1. Would like the see the mini map expandable and to show drops and breakabke items. I've received the same request, and I was very close to find a solution for an expandable map, but in the end I had to cut it because it would have taken too long to develop. But I will keep it as an open point for an update. 2. When is chapter 4 expected to be completed? Should I hold off buying the two dlc chapters now and wait for a perhaps special price when all three are released? There are actually 3 more Acts planned, not just one, or at least the storyline spans across 6 acts. There's no current plan now, as I need to see the feedback on the game first (better feedback, faster implementation), and I will need funding to prepare more levels, more equipment options, skills etc. For sure there will be a discount for those who purchased Act 2 & 3, but I cannot really tell at the moment. 3. Ranged attacks seem to be imprecise and your character needs to be almost in melee range before they are highlighted. There seems to be no way to change your highlighted enemy once targetted. Noted, I will check into this. 4. Would like to see your companion have the ability to equip items. Not likely to come soon, I know it adds a new layer of strategy to the game, but also a lot of complexity for the players who just want to kill stuff. Anyways, you might want to rephrase this once you reach Act 2 5. There appears to be no personal stash for excess items you want to keep. You can expand your inventory equipping a belt. Note that inventory limit counts only towards potions and scrolls, while equipment is unlimited. The game includes several save checkpoints, and it's saved also every time you complete a task within the mission. To use teleports, there must be no enemies in range (pretty much the same range as the minimap). Once you use the teleport, you go back to camp and the game is saved. You do not have to backtrack to your position! You see that big altar in the middle of the base camp? Once you transport back, that will be the gate to the position you teleport from (it's usable only once, you cannot go back and forth unless you use another teleport). 8. Even with settings having the furthest view I feel the zoom level is still a bit too close. That's not an issue, but the farthest you move the camera, the higher is the demand on the device CPU and GPU, which might lead to overheating and high battery consumption. I might add another option though 9. Unfortunately there is no ability to customise the position of the skill buttons. Yes you can! I know it's not well explained. When you are in hero management, open the skills tab, and click on the skill that you have already learnt. On the right panel, near the name of the skill, there's a small button containing a number (1 to 7). Click the button, and you will be able to change the position of the skills buttons. 10. Had a rare bug where I was unable to reach a gold drop from a defeated enemy. Yes I know, this can happen sometimes if you are closed in corners, not easy to fix, but will see what I can do. Thanks a lot for the feedback, and thanks for understand that this is not a standard Arcane Quest title (turn based tabletop style), but I sometimes have to experiment something new, especially where there are not enough ideas. BTW Arcane Quest 4 will come some day, maybe near the end of the year, who knows. Cheers! You have cleared up a lot of my concerns. I completely missed the ability to change the skill buttons around. However while helpful that was not my specific problem. I was hoping you could implement the ability to actually move the skill buttons around the screen. I would have liked to be able to have them situated more to the edge of my iPad. Just a personal preference. And I really hope you do consider to have a further option to increase the zoom level. Probably just a selfish request as I have the large iPad Pro and it would just look so much sweeter. After hearing you have a vision to have a total of 6 chapters and have released the game as it currently stands to help with funding, I have immediately bought the next two chapters. I have now played the game for 4 hours and I am still in chapter 1. I am really enjoying the game and I have found the difficulity level so far using a ranged character much to my liking. It is not a walk in the park but it is doable with careful positioning and skill usage. Intelligence, somewhat more so than dexterity, is most helpful. I am using the enchanting system quite a bit. It does use a lot of arcane gems and gold to remove and then socket them to other equipment but I love the flexibity of the system so far. I hope this becomes a financial success for you as this is a quality release. lordnedox Well-Known Member May 9, 2014 187 20 18 #15 lordnedox, Dec 23, 2018 No problem, I'm already working on the improvements, and will also add translations into 5 new languages with the next updated (or anyway in the near future).
