Arcane Golf's first content update is on it's way bringing 50 new levels (with a few new twists) included in the new experimental "Golf Labs",

Golf Labs allows practitioners of the Arcane swing to access an ever growing list of experimental new levels across every dungeon.

Hopefully that's just the beginning! Coming soon™

If you see the latest post in this thread (from kisguri) , you might find out that it's a good idea to keep the app around a little longer ;)

Oh, right. This begs me to ask...are there any plans to implement iCloud support?

You know It hasn't been discussed, and having not personally developed for iOS, I'm not sure how hard it is to implement, but it's worth looking in to. Fortunately, this expansion will be completely unlocked from the start, so all levels will always be available even if you delete the app. One of the benefits of the new labs menu and systems I've been implementing.

Oh man, I could really use some tips for the Fatal Attraction and Eye on the Ball achievements. They’re the only 2 I have left and they’re driving me insane. With the former, I have 39% of it done, but I genuinely can’t figure out what the criteria is.

Haha, I think you'll get the fatal attraction one if you...stick to it. Though you should be proud you haven't gotten it. As for Eye on the Ball...I just noticed the mobile implementations are using the wrong time amount from the old Arcane Golf 1.0 (2018 PC release) build (not the big 2.0 update that preceded the mobile launch)

I figured something might be up with Eye on the Ball after checking out the old version of the level and exhausting literally all options (and motor skills :p)! Looking forward to being able to complete it. :)

Regarding Fatal Attraction, is it just a case of landing in slime on your final shot and dying? I tried doing that dozens of times to no avail.

Oh, oh! Bug report: If you go into achievements, flip your device to portrait and then exit out of the achievements, the entire game becomes borked. You can essentially play the game in portrait with the sides cut off.

EDIT: Alrighty! Got Fatal Attraction by continuously reverse-sticking to...it...twice at the beginning of Level 3 in the woods. I'm 20000% sure it wasn't 13 times though. Either there's something that I'm missing, or something that isn't triggering right with the achievement because I can swear I did it something like 50 to 75 times...or even hundred total.

Oh, and I might as well ask...the hidden achievement is what I think it is, right? ;)

That should be it. You land in the slime on your last shot 13 times. Weird that you have it partially completed.

Hey everyone! We've just released our FREE 50-level expansion, Golf Labs! Untethered from the original dungeon-based experience, this all new expansion —set across all 4 dungeon themes— has a bunch of new features, including:
    • Remixed dungeon themes: Find wind in the Water Temple, Eyedols in the Forest Ruins, and more!
    • Brand new mechanics: Multi-directional wind, slimes that can ride moving platforms, and a brand new magical gem!
    • 1-Shots: Every. Single. Level. Only 1 shot. But don't think we won't pour on the difficulty. Prepare to have all of your gamer senses challenged!
    • Play in any order: No more unlocking or attempting levels in order. Just pick a level and play.
    • Hazard Guides: Optional reminders for every trap, creature or power that might be in a level, in case you've forgotten since your last play-through.
    • Update Menu Art: Finally, a little extra pizazz for returning eyes sees a number of new assets and animations spicing up the main menu. If we could, we'd keep polishing this game forever!

We just want to take a minute to thank everyone at TouchArcade and in the forums for their support. It's hard to get noticed in the endless see of mobile games that exists, but the support of both the editorial staff and the wonderful forum comments here helped us and our weird little indie game feel seen!

On a more sombre note, while we're happy with the result of our hard work, this update may ultimately prove to be our last major addition, so we hope you enjoy, and we look forward to hearing from you all!

I never picked this up the first time around. I think I remember @metalcasket was a huge fan. Anyone else playing it ? How is the difficulty and progression? Is there an RPGish aspect or just the look of it ? I’m tempted but was never sold on it. Don’t remember why.

Obviously I'm biased (as one of the devs), but the difficulty curve is pretty smooth. In fact after our initial PC launch proved too difficult (3 years ago) we worked really hard with some testers to completely rebuild the game, levels, progression systems, and tutorials in a huge free update (mobile versions launched with this build) that addressed pretty much every concern we ever received. Reviews on Steam, the App Store, and Google Play have been solid across the board.

As for RPG elements, that's a firm no. The game actually plays almost like a physics-based puzzle-platformer with the visual trappings of a classic Castlevania (or other similar games).

The game has 250 levels now, and you can skip levels that prove too hard or frustrating, and play the new expansion levels in any order, so there's a lot of content to check out, and you can see it all regardless of skill level. If you do pick it up, we'd love to hear what you think. We've been diligent about improving as game developers and as well as taking everything we learned and making Arcane Golf better, we'll put future feedback to use in our next projects too!

I’m buying it just based on this response. I want to support a dev like you. I have always been a strong believer in the premium based apps and devs. I’m buying it more out of respect for you and the enthusiasm and truthful of your response rather then my excitement for the game. I’ll let you know how it goes. Buying now, will give it a go later this eve.

I really appreciate your support, and I hope the game can provide some enjoyment regardless of your motivations. It's been a huge undertaking and major learning process making (and remaking) this game, and even if it isn't for everyone, everything we learn from it will help our next games be even better.

Really great so far. Played first 12 levels and love the feel of it. Great look to it also. And I age to say I love the relaxing feel. So tired of timers and stars or whatever to collect. Sometimes (mostly) I just want to play and chill. This game scratches that itch. Looking forward to really digging in. It’s often the games I hesitate on I really enjoy. Good job. And thanks for being the kind of developer tocuharcaders have always respected.

I’m still a huge fan. :) It’s the only game I’ve ever actively tried to get all achievements in too! It’s tremendous and was worth the asking price without the extra 50 levels.

From what I’ve played so far (the extra levels I mean), I’m expecting a little beard pulling, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Along with SNKRX, this is one of the few games that really does deserve to be pre-installed on mobile phones. It’s such a perfect fit for mobile and yeah, you’ve already said it…the fact that it doesn’t have the silly bells and whistles that try to expand, yet bloat gameplay…it’s all the better for it.

If this is your first time coming across this thread, seriously, pick this up. I love this ****ing game!

Thanks again, and I'm glad you're enjoying it. It means the world that you gave our little game a chance.

Pre-installed? Wouldn't that be something! Haha. Thanks for all of the support and kind words along the way. Don't pull too much of your beard out....but just a little is exactly what we intended.
