I have the full version but they have been promising an Android version forever. Know some Droid users won't be happy to see this ahead of that release (originally supposed to be at the same time as the full iOS version but delayed...and delayed). Wonder if it will ever come. Looks different the levels and that no ? Sanuku Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2009 11,954 4 38 Austria http://www.touchgameplay.com #12 Sanuku, Oct 16, 2013 Some of the Missions are changed completely while others got only changed a tiny bit here and there. It`s probably interesting for those that liked the first Version of the Game since the Freemium Part doesn`t look too greedy to hold me back from playing it. Definitely recommend picking it up. jamarohn Active Member May 18, 2012 28 0 0 #15 jamarohn, Oct 16, 2013 I think this is actually an update to the current app, and not a separate app. They're dropping the price to 0 and bumped up the IAP. While working on the Android release, we removed some things that we thought were largely unnecessary to the game to reduce confusion, so save files between this and old ARC were no longer compatible during development. Updating in that case would have been kind of bad. - A couple of the levels had some pretty heavy changes for the Android version we were working on, so it was easy enough to do an iOS version along side of it with the changed content. - The original ARC Squadron should be removed from the App Store entirely at some point today since the two games are nearly identical. - Yes it's free, no there aren't any new IAP. The balancing is largely the same as the original, so if you didn't feel the need to buy the IAP then, you still won't. This release is really just about getting it out to as many people as possible. - Android version will be out some time tomorrow. iOS has a much easier to deal with automated rollout system, so it's just kind of doing its thing for us. Edit: Tomorrow morning US....dawned on me it's already tomorrow morning in NZ and Australia. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #18 awp69, Oct 16, 2013 Last edited: Oct 16, 2013 This concerns me greatly. When I saw this, I was happy to see a dev doing the right thing by releasing a freemium version separately rather than updating a paid app to have a freemium model. But now that I hear that you are pulling the old version, I'm not a happy camper. Why are you pulling it? Does it do any harm to leave the old version there? You say the new version is " nearly" the same and is balanced, but with past experiences, that still doesn't provide comfort. Yes, previous owners should be able to redownload the old version through their purchase history, but there's been a few pulled apps that can't even be retrieved that way. So I ask again, why pull the original version? EDIT: Urghh... Went to redownload and it's already pulled! Now I need to scour my purchase history to see if I can get it back. PsyonixDan Member Nov 1, 2012 18 0 0 #19 PsyonixDan, Oct 16, 2013 We decided to go free with the same balancing as iOS for Android, so it was either release the new version for free on iOS, or don't do the new release for iOS at all. Realistically we simply don't have the resources to support multiple versions at once, so doing it this way was the most feasible for us. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #20 awp69, Oct 16, 2013 It frankly doesn't matter if you never updated the old app again. There was no reason to remove it. I'm not finding it in my history so far. This is exactly the kind of move that really makes me sour on a Dev. It's a fantastic game and one of the first I bought when I upgraded to a phone that could play it. I also liked that it had cloud support. I actually deleted it last week to make room for another game KNOWING that I could redownload it later and pick up where I left off. All that progress will be gone if I can't get it via my purchase history. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
