Bruno's Blades being locked is a legacy bug. If it's locked in your game, it will be unlocked in the next update.

I will look into the goblins, at least one of them should have some stuff to sell. I plan to add some quests for them in the next content update.

I can understand some people being upset about the bugs in this game, but coming from a rpg background where i played a ton of these games on the PC - i dunno, maybe i just got used to buggy games. I don't know if i remember one single crpg that wasn't buggy on release to varying degrees.

Having said that, i still haven't really run into a lot of bugs in this game yet. I fell through the floor once and i have that Bruno's Blades bug. That's pretty much it so far and i've played for a while.

I think the developer did a pretty amazing job on this game given the complexity/depth (much, much deeper than Ravensword by the way). One person in his spare time? sheesh...i only have one kid and a demanding job and barely have time to pick my nose.

Not much of a capitalist, are you, Scott?

I would agree with you--if the app store didn't have a robust rating system. It's open enough that it becomes part of the promotional material for the app, for better or for worse. (assuming you wait a day or two before purchasing)

That means that you ARE an informed customer, with very little work, before purchasing. Which means that you're accepting the exchange of goods as it stands.

Lastly, nobody releases an app knowing that there are feature-truncating bugs in it! They're accidents! They happen. Thankfully, if the steak ends up undercooked, it won't be for long.

I work in publishing. I used to get incredibly pissed at my employees for allowing typos and other unforced errors into my books. I'd berate them, tell them to hire extra editors if they need to, etc. But after plenty of years of evidence, I can confidently say: shit happens. No matter how many editors you hire, no matter how hard you work (and work your employees!), no matter what--mistakes are simply a matter of probability. There's a non-zero chance that bugs will persist in the system through a bug-hunting iteration. But there are a finite number of bug hunts. So in a large enough game, bugs are (almost literally) expected.

    But that's not the point.

At the end of the day, you're being offered a product with end-user feedback right there alongside it. That means that you're making an informed decision when you buy. If you don't like that games come out before they're bug-free, then wait until the feedback reflects that!

I don't mean to get on your case; I just think you're technically right, but realistically wrong to be frustrated with the way game releases have evolved.

I agree. But you know what? The whole damn game is amazing.

And frankly, Josh, I know you did a lot of the art in the game....and you NAILED it. It's really one helluvan accomplishment. It's gorgeous, well-constructed, memorable, and a polished, exciting game experience.

Great, great, great job to you and the whole team.

I have been a TouchArcade reader for a long time and I have never in need to register touchArcade but today is a different case because of 2 things:
    1. I like what you, Aralon dev team, have done on this game.
    2. You listen to feedback, reply to what we say, and work on those feedback.

I normally don't buy game for $7 at all but I made an exception for Aralon because of the reasons I mentioned above.
Fyi, I chose to buy your game instead of Gameloft's $7 deal on Dungeon Hunter 2 HD :)

As people mentioned earlier, the UI on the iPad definitely need to be worked on but for the time being, I am content with playing on my iPhone which works great!
I hope that you will put some time in fixing the UI for the iPad.

    Again kudos to you.
Don't work till 3 am every night. Life is too short in spending time doing that besides your product would be much less problematic if you don't force yourself.
I know because I, myself, am a developer.

    My Review:

I really regret paying £4 for this.

The game claims to have a 'Huge' open world yet I managed to get from one end of the map to the other in under 2 minutes, unless more of the map gets revealed as you play along, I'm extremely disappointed in the size of the world.

After playing for hours I still fail to get engaged with the game, I just don't find it fun at all, all the quests seem the same and I feel as though I've touched the best bits of the game already.

The voice acting is a joke and I could hear better acting on a budget commercial, there are only around 10 different dialogue's that are said by civilians all over the world, you woulda thought on a game of this scale there would be a lot more.

The menu is clunky and seems crowded, on the achievements screen there are only 3-4 overall achievements, quests completed and a set of titles which seem very bare and unexplained, I was hoping for GameCenter integration.

I decided to be a Rogue and another disappointment was the skill tree, there are around 20-25 things you can invest your skill points in but overall there are only actually around 7 unique skills, the rest are just upgraded versions of them.

The loot is horrible as after going through 3 mini dungeons, I've only come out with around 2 unique pieces of loot that I didn't have before, I thought each item would be different slightly like in many other RPG games.

I was really looking forward to the moral choice system, as I was a rogue I was hoping to be able to pickpocket and pick locks, however little did I know that once you become an outlaw, nearly everyone starts to attack you no matter where you are rendering many quests uncompleteable and no clear way of becoming lawful again besides loading an old save.

The graphics im actually really impressed with, you do get the impression of being in another world and that's a really engaging part of the game, I was impressed with the scenery and especially the city in the game.

Most people have reported the battle system as being unrefined however I enjoy it, even with the lack of unique skills every battle is different and this is one of the highlights of the game, even if enemies do respawn right in front of you randomly.

The sound is AMAZING, everything from the music, to the scenery, to the sound effects in battle! I love playing this game with headphones and it really absorbs you.

Bottom line is that if you have a spare couple of pounds and fancy a different app, then try this, you may enjoy it. BUT if you're expecting an engaging and polished RPG that you would expect on a console then don't get your hopes up like I did, it's clear the developer has put loads of work into this game but it's still lacking, it's something that simply can't be done in the iOS.

I'm gonna play some more but if I don't get hooked then I'll lose all interest and hopes for this game :/

Alright so I'm trying to talk to Sunclaw but when he wouldn't say anything I attacked him assuming I would have to beat him to get the key to the temple, obviously he killed me. Then I read on here that you needed to loot the claw from the drake's corpse to talk to Sunclaw so I got the claw but Sunclaw is still trying to kill me. Is there anyway to get Sunclaw to talk to me again?

thats only one small portion of the world you just saw. there are 5 very large outdoor zones, tons of caves dungeons castles, a giant city, and tons of other areas.

From my experience it just goes away. You can use runes to enchant a weapon or piece of armor though, which is a permanent effect unless you use another one on it.

Just curious if I need to go back to my other save at Callaheim and work my way back or if there's a way to work around this, so if you have any idea please let me know!

:eek::eek: wow that's pretty impressive. Not even gameloft with their 4,000+ employees could make a game like this and then 1 person and a small group of indie developers goes and shows em up. Good job gentlemen I salute you.:)
