Some crashes are caused by genuine bugs. The crash on character creation is likely because of piracy. And if you're trying to play a game that was designed for 3rd gen and up on a 2nd gen device, you're probably going to get crashing all over the place.
actually, I originally had the character creation crash bug too and I bought the game. however deleting the game and installing straight through itunes is all I had to do to fix that problem. love the game so far and even with all the bugs i'ts a lot of fun and to be honest you're always going to have bugs in a huge open world game like this. just look at the recent Fallout games. I loved those but they had tons of bugs still it didn't hurt the experience any. just wish there was a jump button in this though
I believe if you pirated it, nothing will help relieve you of that bug, but if you bought it, thinks like reinstalling will work. Not 100% sure though. Haven't been really following this thread until recently when I actually bought the game.
His question was hypothetical. In defense of those being accused of piracy. Anyway, I think waiting for an update or two before purchase is a good call. I bought, but I'm shelving the game for now. I should note though, that I haven't experienced any crashes whatsoever on iPhone 4, 4.2.
I like how there are cutscenes in some of the quests! In my opinion, this desperately needs a mini-map. If the next game is an Aralon MMORPG, that would be incredible with the higher-budget team that the sales of this will allow for!
Can't get out of beginning house w/o crashing. Does anyone know when the update for 2G support come out?
actually 2G works fine for me. the graphics are lower quality but i have only crashed about 3 times and no lag issues
Only crashed 3 times? I suppose that's better than the constant crashing other 2G users have been reporting. I'm so tempted to get this game now, but I'm going to try to wait for the update.
The fix for the horse is easy: As soon as the progress bar finishes, POOF! you're on a horse. That is, get rid of any animation oddities by ditching the animation. It's fun seeing the horsey gallop up, but only the first few times. After that, most of us would probably rather be on the horse as fast as possible (horse teleporting aside).
The only time I've crashed is when I get to the door to the 2nd village. Hopefully that's fixed in the next update as I really want to get back to this!
Great game so far - SO much better than Ravensword! It really feels like an epic adventure with the music, environ. design, char. development, quests, etc. My only complaints so far: - can't look up when in 3rd person view (why?) - can't access options without quitting game in progress - an ability to target/change target manually would be good - tap on a creature, etc to target. Facing a target to select just doesn't always work the way I'd like, esp. when looting corpses.
Just finished the game... I have to say I only crashed once and that was because I was on Skype at the same time as running high graphics. Awesome Gameplay I spent well. Over 30 hours playing it in the last few days. Love the guild thing...helped me level up a lot The only annoying thing in the game is that my mount keeps crashing into things but that's just a control issue on my part Overall awesome game I never fell victim to any of the bugs mentioned so if was an enjoyable experience finished as a level 46 mage elf ^^ Again props to Josh for an awesome rpg.
I just beat the game and I must say I agree with PocketGamer's assessment. Don't get me wrong, I like the game (I do recall I wrote that I loved it, but I lied), but it's unrefined battle system, lack of minimap, bugs, pop-up, crashing, etc, all make it less than what I expected. There are high points, but IMO, there are more low ones to go around. I'd give it a 7/10. But it we were to judge it as a portable game, not just a cell phone title, then I think a 6/10 is fair. With more development time this could've been more awesome than what it is, though. I can't wait to see the improvements that are made, although I can't see myself going back through again. Thanks, though, Crescent and Galoobeth.
I guess that was by know the best written "not good (up to bad)" post so far. I understand your points and of course thats totally fine because that's your own opinion!
Done.......Finally!!! I've just finished it. It took a lot of my beloved good night sleep, but it was worth it. Thanks for that amazing game...
