Thanks for the answers. Ive got a new question there, it is about the stealth system. Im playing a rogue and always get stealthed but I dont understand at all this system. I mean, I cant predict when Im about to get discovered: sometimes the monsters are seeing me 100 meters far away, on the other hand I can sometimes approach them very near... how is that working? Is it random or what?
clearing quickslot I can't figure this out still. Do you drag it out when you're in the main screen, or the link screen. Neither will allow you to drag out quickslot items as far as I can tell. - Frank
oh you mean quickslot - i thought you meant in the inventory. you can't drag anything on the quickslot except in the inventory.
Anyone know how to join the theives guild? I guess, it should be done from theives'den in the sewer. Although, i went to there both as being outlaw and lawful condition, i couldn't get it done. Please let me know.
Well it did look like that when the trailer was made, just it did cause massive framerate drops, so it had to be changed (multiple times, I'm not sure if the currend version of Aralon in the AppStore has the newest effect there.)
I know this had been asked several times but does starting a new game fix the "falling from the sky glitch" after you enter the first gate?
Try transferring to iTunes, then syncing back to your device, that might help. Otherwise it's a bug they know about and are working on getting fixed.
To anyone with the village gates bug where you fall to death, i found a way to fix it. when you're falling, click the bag icon halfway down, then save your game to another slot. then when you die, load that slot and you'll land safely
This game looks amazing, and I'll probably get on christmas. However, is this a good first RPG game? I've never played RPGs really (more into FPSs) but the idea of having an open world in your pocket seems amazing. I just want to make sure I won't be totally lost as to what to do when I open it up.
That's the beauty of a game like this - you're not *supposed* to know what to do. The fun is in discovering... If you're used to FPS controls on the iDevices then you should have no trouble in Aralon with character movement. The only other things that may be new to you are selecting new skills and your stats when leveling up and managing your inventory. Here's a brief rundown: 1) Leveling up: When you level up you'll notice an orange glow around your character for a moment and in the menu you'll see the "Stats" and "Skills" icons flashing. Make sure you know what stats are important to your character when you level up as they do different things - for example, strength is probably most important to warriors as they rely on melee damage, agility is useful for rogues, intellect for mages, etc. But all of the stats benefit all of the characters in different ways. The skill tree is similar to games like Diablo, World of Warcraft, etc, but if you haven't played those before just understand that your character starts with certain skills and when you level up you get an extra skill point that you can use to add to a new skill or increase the skill level of one of your current skills. Training up a skill completely "unlocks" skills that branch from it, but be aware that some skills require you to be a certain level before you can ever unlock it, and be especially aware of the energy cost of a skill. The game right now doesn't do a good job preventing you from training up a skill that may require more energy than your character may currently even have! But that may be intentional as you may encounter items that boost your energy while you have them equipped (I don't know as I haven't found any yet). 2) Inventory: In the menu you have three backpack icons so you have three inventory "bags". You can move equipment within these bags and some items (potions for example) will stack up to 10 per bag slot. 3) Linking/Quickslots: At the bottom of your game screen there are 5 (or al l10 slots if you're on an iPad) slots. This is where you'll want to "link" your active skills or inventory items (like a fishing pole or a weapon or a health potion) so in the middle of the game you can use the skill or item or equip a weapon quickly and easily. To add icons to your quickslot area just select the skill or equipment icon from your skill tree or inventory area (respectively) and click "link" - you then select which quickslot you want to link that icon to. If you are not on an iPad then at the right side of the 5 slots there is an arrow that you can touch to change quick slot "rows". Usually I use the second row for quickslot icons I won't be using that often or not in combat (like the fishing pole or the steal items from a chest icon (I play a rogue) and the deed to my mount for summoning it). IMPORTANT - make sure you link a healing potion (or energy potions if you play a mage) to your quick slot area so you can quickly drink a potion in the middle of a fight. 4) Make sure you are saving your game to at least two saves and switch between the two and save fairly often - especially if you're playing on a 2nd or 3rd gen device. The game is DAMN fun but it is still fairly buggy and wonky so just save frequently and you'll be fine. I play on an iPhone4 and I've come across a couple of bugs but nothing that is really a big deal. The fun I'm having with this game more than makes up for it and I've played PC open world games from major publishers that have had as many (if not more) bugs. Part of the problem with bugs and defects in this game is that it is an open world game and those types of games (on any platform) by their vary open-ended nature are more prone to these types of problems. Galoobeth Games and Crescent Moon are very very active in these threads, are extremely responsive, and so far appear to be doing everything they can (and as quickly as they can) to address the issues being seen. It may take some time (a couple of months even) but in the end this game is going to be I think one of the most memorable games on the iDevices. And its already one of my favorite games on my iPhone already even *with* the bugs. Speaking of which - I think its time for me to get back to my elven rogue - he's trying on hats right now and figuring out which one he wants to purchase before he goes to kill some ogre to steal his ring...
One thing I wanted to mention that I am very pleasantly surprised by is that I am *VERY* happy that magic items in this game are extremely rare. I've found exactly one magic item so far (and it may have been a quest reward - I don't remember) and its a ring that boosts my endurance somewhat. I know this game has magical items but I wanted to let the devs know that I'm glad this isn't a "magic item fest" type of game. That makes coming across something magical in the game truly, well... magical! Nothing worse than picking through the loot from chests or monsters and thinking, "Okay... *another* magic ring of whatever, oh joy - yet another 'sword +who cares'" etc. And I'm hoping it doesn't ever get that way in this game even at higher levels. EDIT: I also live coming across gem stones as loot. Its cool only coming across value 10 or less weapons and armor drops and then looting a chest guarded by some monsters or a boss and finding a value 500 diamond. Its like "F* Yeah!". I'm so far loving the loot and inventory drop system in this game...
Sorry to say, but it does get that way. I've gotten a lot of rings, and any weapon you find is waaaay under what you have if you buy the strongest stuff from the stores, unless it's a special item in a chest or whatever. You get a lot more gems too. It's still fun, don't get me wrong
Just bought. I was worried about how people reported it was buggy and glitchy, but then I remembered Oblivion and Fallout 3. Those games were messy glitch-fests, but amazing. Plus I see you are already addressing most of the issues.
